Asheville, North Carolina
Available for 30 day rentals, our guest house sits behind our 1915 bungalow in the Chestnut Hills neighborhood on Liberty Street, an historic street referenced in Thomas Wolfe's Look Homeward Angel. At just under 500 sq. ft, your retreat sits high among the trees with a private, lighted carport below. This is a very quiet spot in a beautiful residential neighborhood. Lovely views surround you, featuring Sunset Mountain, and turn-of-the century homes, one of which is the gorgeous Beaufort Inn. The space offers the perfect balance of bright and shady, with a modern, fresh finish, all new appliances including washer/dryer, a Zinus green queen mattress, quality linens (down-free, allergen free, etc.) and towels, thoughtful appointments, speedy wireless, HDTV with Roku including access to Netflix and Amazon Prime, a generous closet, and an efficient Euro-style kitchen space. Our goal is to provide comfort, privacy, and convenient access to everything that makes Asheville one of the top destinations in the US.
A bit more about Liberty Street, one of the oldest streets in Asheville. Only nine homes populate this neighborhood passage - an assortment of simple bungalows, Queen Annes, Victorian Farmhouses, and fine Arts & Crafts homes, all surrounded by ancient white oaks, spruce and sycamore. Ironically, one of the oldest streets in Asheville is nestled close to the freshest entrepreneurial hives in the city. Two blocks away is the Wellfit cycling and fitness studio, the Asheville Yoga Center, Pulp&Sprout (a natural food cafe) , and Liberty House Coffee & Cafe, all run by energetic and passionate people who love their neighborhood. One block west is the fabulous Plant Restaurant. Three blocks north on Charlotte Street sits Taco Temple, Jettie Rae's Oyster House, Bone & Broth, City Bakery, The Chop Shop Butcher, and Metro Wines. It's a 12-minute walk downtown, verified many times while going to concerts or street festivals, shopping, or to our favorite cocktail spot, Sovereign Remedies. For groceries, you'll find our major regional grocery chain Harris Teeter, Trader Joe's and Green Life (a small satellite of Whole Foods) are all just a few blocks away.
