Had a lovely stay at the Mayfair House. Clean, comfortable, and great communication with the host throughout. Loved the proximity to Lester Park and the pathway system along the lake. Great for our pup!

House and rooms were very clean. The living room was comfortable and cute, the bathroom was beautiful and quite large for an old craftsman style house. The only issue was a major lack of water pressure. But the soaking tub was a huge hit for the little kids.

The Mayfair House is a well maintained renovated house that maintains its original charm in the Lakeside neighborhood of Duluth. This neighborhood is family friendly, close to Lake Superior, trails, cafes and grocery stores. The house was comfortable for a family of four. The nearby street is busy during the day but quiets down at night. We loved the cozy living room, bedrooms with comfy king sized beds and cleanliness of the house. The only complaints are that the kitchen could be better stocked with servings dishes, cutting boards, etc. If you don't plan to do a lot of cooking it is not a big deal. The upstairs tub/shower drains very slowly which is a bit annoying and the water pressure is not great. Overall, however a lovely stay in a very convenient part of Duluth.

This house was a great find. Plenty of space, clean, great amenities. Very quiet neighborhood-it’s the old rectory to the church next door, which is slated to be torn down. The new church is next door to that on the corner, there’s another house on the other side of you, and it’s across the street from a mostly undeveloped park with woods and trails. Very convenient to everywhere we wanted to go. We’ll look for it next year!

This home is conveniently located in Duluth. The home is clean and the beds are very comfortable! We had an issue with water volume. If someone was showering, we lost water in the kitchen. The bathtub drains extremely slowly.

Water pressure was a trickle in the shower. The upstairs toilet kept stopping to fill with water so would not flush. The entry way smelled like sewage.

It’s a great space! Convenient to downtown, Canal Park, and the North Shore. Having three bedrooms perfectly fit our need, for three friends getting together for a long weekend. The house is very comfy and has great character!

We loved our stay at the Mayfair house. It has plenty of room for all the family. The beds are huge and comfortable! The bathrooms are nicely finished. There are plenty of towels, silverware, and toiletries to use while there. Even coffee and wifi for free. Check in and check out were a breeze. This place is a steal of a deal and totally worth it!

My baby son and I, along with my parents, stayed at this property for 3 weeks over Christmas while visiting my brother who lives in Lakeside, Duluth. The property was absolutely lovely and spacious, in a great location. It was very clean and well stocked with whatever we needed (except for a kettle - us Brits need a kettle!!). We really enjoyed spending time with family at the property at such a special time. The only couple of points I’d like to feedback are: 1. the property has 3 sets of fairly steep stairs which were a bit of a worry with my 11-month old, so I’d suggest requesting that stair gates are provided if you wish to book with a baby ; 2. we couldn’t find any rubbish/trash bins for the property and this became increasingly frustrating as the weeks went by. These things aside, we had a wonderful time and would definitely return.

The house was very clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed. The location was perfect for exploring Duluth, Gooseberry Falls, and the Split Rock Light House. We could see Lake Superior from some of the bedroom windows.

We really enjoyed our stay here, and booked both the Mayfair and Lakewalk houses together for a larger family group. It was so nice to have adjacent properties and both houses were super clean and well-appointed. Clearly care is taken on hosting these properties, with cleaning, local recommendations, easy check-in and check-out, etc. The location is great, with easy access to local parks, and just a couple miles down to the Canal Park, Park Point and Bayfront areas. We would stay here again in a heartbeat, and look forward to doing so!

Property is in good location. Bed springs noisy and uncomfortable. Basement has moisture which creates musty smell on main floor. Several spiders and earwigs inside. Property could use pest control treatment.

This 3 bedroom house turned out to be a great choice for our 6-person stay for two nights. We know Duluth well and made use of the nearby Lakewalk for walking and biking. While we felt it was worth 5 stars for a rating, there are two minor dings we felt were worth mentioning: the king size beds, while very comfortable, had cheap metal bed frames. The bed frame in our room was so noisy when we moved or sat down we thought the frame might be broken. But we still slept very comfortably on the mattress. The upstairs bathroom was roomy and very functional with one exception: the only lighting in the bathroom is a light on the built-in ceiling fan, and there is no vanity lighting whatsoever. So if you are needing to shave with bright light or apply makeup, it's impossible to see your face clearly. We were in town for a wedding so needed to do both. Otherwise, everything was great for us and we'd stay here again.
