We do allow pets, but ask that you please keep them crated when they're not in the house, and keep them off of the furniture. Occasionally, previous guests have told us that they do not like our neighborhood. We think it is great, and have never had any security issues, but we understand that everyone has different experiences and want to make sure you are comfortable in our home. If you are concerned about the neighborhood, we would be happy to talk with you about it, and refund if you cancel within 24 hours of booking.
We are a pet friendly home. Pets must be crated when they are left unattended in the home. We do not allow pets on furniture or beds, and all waste must be cleaned up from the yard. In the event that a security deposit is collected, we will retain all or part of the security deposit to cover any costs associated with additional cleaning due to pets.
Interaction with Guests:
We love to offer our guests maximum privacy, but know that we are just a quick phone call away if ever the need arises!
It was a very nice historic home. It was large enough for our group and with plenty of bathrooms for us all. The lower bathroom was a bit chilly, the shower felt crowded with the curtains coming in close and the door handle fell out a couple times, locking in the user if the chain was on the outside of the other door.
We had a celebration of life for a departed family member at a local church. Our group of thirteen consisted of spouses, children, grandchildren and puppies. It was wonderful to have everyone stay in one place. We would stay at the house again.
House and neighborhood are charming There is an abandoned house behind this one which is where I’m guessing some of the safety concerns from other reviewers come from but not in the least the property owners fault The house could use a little toc, cleaning up leaves, filling in cracks from settling But really for the price and the location it was awesome We will be returning Communication was phenomenal as well Bring dish towels as there weren’t any but all other basics were provided
Wonderful old house with lots of character, room to stretch, and great location convenient to downtown and midtown locations
Do not waste your money! This home is in a terrible neighborhood and does not have a safe/secure surrounding. Upon arrival neighbors were screaming at each other. Upon entering the home we found a pair of bloody tweezers laying on the living floor. Entered the bedrooms, found the beds looked like they had been slept in. Also the smell of mold / mildew was very strong. Informed the host about the findings and requested a refund. We were not and did not stay there. The host informed us that we could dispose of the tweezers, because she would not call the cleaners back out. She did offer to reimburse us half the cleaning cost, finally she reimbursed us the full cleaning cost only. Hopefully our review and bad experience will help another family , not make the same mistake we did.
House was cute and clean! We thoroughly enjoyed the upstairs wrap around porch at night!
Overall beautiful home. Great space. Neighborhood did not feel secure. Bathrooms need additional improvement.
The space was great. The neighborhood was slightly sketchy but I understand you can’t move a house. The kitchen floor was a little sticky and there could’ve been a few more accoutrements. But overall it was a nice stay
If you have a large group this house has plenty of room. The neighborhood is not ideal if safety is a priority. Several times we noticed people walking by our cars and looking through the windows. There are a few abandoned houses on the street and also behind the house ( we suspect that’s where the homeless were sleeping). 3 1/2 bathrooms were very convenient although both bathrooms upstairs struggled to flush. Plenty of dishes and towels were available. Overall the house is descent but the neighborhood is definitely not the safest of areas
We reserved this home for 3 adults and our 4 animals as evacuees for Hurricane Ida. When we arrived, we knocked on the door because there were two cars in the driveway. While we were waiting, a truck pulled out of the driveway, with no word and blacked out windows, and another car remained. With no answer, we attempted to enter the premises and we could not open the front door. We called and they said they would send someone out. However, with the hot temperatures in September and 4 animals, we had no choice but to leave and drive back to New Orleans. The neighborhood was not as I expected. We explained to the agency what happened and apparently, the door sometimes sticks with high moisture content in the air. Would have been a great time to let us know while we were there. They returned some of our money with bookings but we still paid a good bit not to stay somewhere I would not recommend staying.
