If you’re looking for a mid-century modern experience in sunny Palm Springs, this 1957 Alexander-built home is it. Originally designed by the architectural team of Palmer & Krisel, this post and beam classic was later published on the cover of "Living Retro,” and has been nicely update to retain its 1950's glamour, yet provides all the modern amenities you need for today's lifestyle. Original highlights include soaring exposed tongue and groove ceilings, concrete block fireplace, clerestory windows and globe lighting.
The great room combines a sleek updated kitchen, breakfast bar, large dining table for the whole group, and the living room with fireplace and large HDTV built into the A/V wall cabinet, all looking out through the giant glass sliders to the pool deck. Slide open these doors and enjoy the warm California sunshine and cool evenings around the sparkling blue swimming pool and spa. You’ll find plenty of lounge seating around the pool for entertaining. There is also a barbecue and outdoor shower. The only thing missing is you!
The main house offers two guest bedrooms, each with Queen size beds and 22" flat screen TV's, that share a hall bathroom, plus a huge master suite with private bathroom. This fantastic master suite provides plenty of privacy. The comfortable King size bed is framed by matching bedside tables and lamps. In the other half of the room, a large vintage sofa and coffee table sitting area provides a perfect space for reading or sitting with a cocktail or watching the 43" flat screen TV while your partner gets dressed for a night on the town. The private master bath features a huge walk-in shower with a luxurious double shower head. When it’s time to sleep, pull the grasscloth sliding shades across the full-length sliding doors that lead to the private patio with sitting area and vintage fireplace.
This home is 1626 sq ft with an additional 300 sq ft. casita. The fourth bedroom is a large private poolside casita, with a Queen size bed, flat screen TV and its own private half bathroom (sink and toilet). The outdoor shower is just steps away but is not private. The laundry room is also in the casita, behind a curtain.
With all these amenities, space and 1950’s flare, and an awesome Twin Palms neighborhood location that is walking distance to the Ace Hotel and Koffi, why rent anywhere else

Couldn’t have been a better stay. Very clean. Very comfortable. Kitchen was well supplied. Even found some condiments that we appreciated using. Pool was perfect for the hot days Location was close to restaurants. Even trips into Palm Desert were fairly quick. Only issue I can point out is that the casita had an odd odor. Even A/C or open doors didn’t get rid of the musty smell. All in all a great stay.
The property was absolutely perfect for our group. The home had everything we needed. A really good size, clean, with a large pool and hot tub and centrally located in PS for quick runs for coffee and food.
Just spent a wonderfully relaxing week at this architecturally-significant house in Palm Springs' original MCM neighborhood which provides an authentic 50's ambience. Entire house has been recently decorated & has many comfortable furnishings 'of the era' as well as contemporary conveniences (new kitchen appliances, HVAC, Audio/Visual gizmos). Very private pool/spa/BBQ deck kept the whole family entertained. Koffi is 5 minutes walk away & it's a treat wandering the neighborhood taking in all the amazing houses. Shops & restaurants of Smoke Tree Village are 2 minutes drive, plus Ace hotel & other local restaurants nearby. This is a quiet, peaceful residential neighborhood so if you plan to make excessive noise outside prepare to be called on it!
I would not recommend nobody to stay in this property. It looks nothing like the picture and it was like being punished we couldn't enjoy because even if you laugh they want to complaint. Never again it was our worst family trip ever you can't enjoy at in top of that a fee $200 just because our family supposedly was talking and singing loud which was not true!!!!! Too much $$$$ not worth it at all never again, it's better to spend that money where you could enjoy and not feel you can't even talk because they will charge you it was ridiculously worst of the worst!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't recommend it all
The photos make this house seem so lovely, so we were rather disappointed upon entering to find such a tired interior. Crooked damaged lamps, badly scratched floors, broken lawn chairs, overall just tired and worn. Pool was great and spa lovely. Kitchen well stocked. Surround sound music great. Location fantastic. Not worthy of the price compared to other rentals we looked at in the area, but if updated and spruced up it could be.
