This was a beautiful treehouse property for our family with six adults, but needs some TLC. The price was right, the host a good communicator and we had a wonderful time! Things to be aware of if renting: *The driveway is extremely steep and there is a two-level, poorly lit wooden staircase leading to the home. * Bedrooms: 1) the beds in two out of the 3 bedrooms are on a platform on the floor, a potential problem for older folks or anyone with bad knees 2) there are no dressers in any bedroom, you will be living out of a suitcase. 3) Hangers were available in only one bedroom and the third bedroom doesn't have a hanging rod at all 4) the door to the smaller bedroom upstairs doesn't close 5) bring a reading lamp if you want to read in bed at night upstairs * Upstairs half bath has a non-functional sink. There is inadequate space to wash your hands. Water quickly fills sink and is slow to drain. *Dining table seats four, no additional chairs were available to pull into the dining room. * Entry way: 1) there is nowhere to hang jackets. In lieu of one they are strewn on the entry way floor. 2) Removing shoes is required upon entering. It would be nice if there was a rubber mat to put shoes on. Otherwise the shoes are heaped with the jackets. * Suggestion is to add a Welcome Packet with notes: favorite places to dine, hiking trails, golf course phone number, etc.

Was trying to check in early. host said that would be fine. Could not find the place for quite some time directions OK. Need way more visible address number parked in front of the residence noticed about 30 to 40 stairs friends that were staying with us. Wife was on crutches did not have very good explanation on what to expect. They ended up staying in a hotel Friend‘s wife was very pissed. So they had to pay extra to stay in a hotel because she couldn’t walk up that many stairs he carried here to her up once and that was it no go for people with an injury Nice place yes private very much so beds were horrible. Two low to the ground bed frame got my ankles several times recommending get a new bedframe. Or cutting the corners so they don’t stab you in your feet. I have not heard from host about if there will be a discount for the inconvenience of friends having to stay in hotel. Host was very nice but description of property was the main cause for complaint

We had a wonderful stay at this cozy and quiet property. The setting is beautiful—surrounded by woods with a lovely view of the lake, making it feel peaceful and private. The wood-burning stove added great warmth and charm during our stay.The kitchen is well appointed, and we were able to cook both breakfast and dinner comfortably. The bed was very comfortable, which made for restful nights. The host was also easy to communicate with, which made the entire experience smooth and stress-free.Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable stay. We’d be happy to stay again.

Beautiful, clean, comfortable! The main bed was a bit soft for our liking, but that's just a preference - others may love the softness! This was perfect for us! We even have a child with allergies, and he had no issues here, so we know the cleaning was good, too! Thank you for a great stay!

Fantastic views from nearly every window! We appreciated the peaceful, quiet neighborhood. The home had all the amenities we needed and we had a very relaxing time away.

You will find this wonderful home nestled in the mountains with foliage all around, a giant cedar right out the back door and deer roaming the neighborhood. You can even hear the frogs at night. The couch was the perfect level of comfort for relaxing while writing a paper or watching TV. There's a little store at the entrance to the subdivision that has fresh produce if you need it. I found the beds to be very comfortable, and you have extra blankets that are very cozy if you need them. This home requires walking up a bunch of stairs - so book accordingly. I would not book this for my grandma to stay at. The property owners do a good job of describing this, but I wanted to mention it in case it was missed.If you are looking for some nearby outdoor adventures, I recommend the Stimpson Nature Preserve or the hike along the Shores of Lake Whatcom. The Agave restaurant is fantastic, their Mai Tais are delicious!

The location was perfect as we wanted a base to explore Vancouver for a few days. Sudden Valley has a lot to offer and it’s just short drive from Fair Haven and Bellingham. The house had a fantastic view. The only thing we encountered was that the master bed wasn’t as large as we are used to. We really enjoyed the beaches and the short treks in the forest on the doorstep. The deers kept us entertained. Also The pizza / pasta restaurant down the hill is very good. Anthony’s in Bellingham was also a reasonably priced restaurant to eat in late afternoons.

This is my/our second time at this beautiful BnB and it truly feels like a home away from home, on a cloud. This place has everything you need. It’s a cozy retreat for 2, with room for the whole family should you choose to invite them. Great kitchen and beds!

This home was bright, airy and very clean. The couch was comfortable. The home is in a neighborhood surrounded by trees and a bit of a lake view. It's very quiet. There were lots of towels, and the bed linens were very comfortable. They weren't kidding when they said the bed is low to the ground. Our bed in the first floor bedroom was almost like having the mattress on the floor. We used the woodstove to keep the house at a comfortable temperature. As stated, there are a lot of stairs to get to the front door. The host was easy to reach and replied quickly to our messages. We appreciated that we weren't expected to do a hard cleaning prior to departure. Some suggestions /things to know: There aren't any instructions for the house, like how to turn on the living room heated floors, how to use their woodstove, or how the TV works. There are several coffee makers and something that I think was a milk frother but not sure since there weren't any instructions. I think it would be helpful to have a list of these instructions as well as some practical information like the nearest hospital, the local market, etc. The kitchen has a good assortment of pots and pans but has no aluminum foil, plastic wrap or salt and pepper.
