Maple Hill Retreat is a lovely two-bedroom getaway—ideal for its location, privacy, and coziness.
Tucked conveniently off a main road, this location offers easy access to town, a 'short-cut' to Stowe Mountain Resort, and varied routes to the myriad other attractions in the area. The large flat yard is great for outdoor fun—building forts and snowmen in winter and yard games in the summer.
Inside Maple Hill Retreat has a cottage-like feel with a cozy living room furnished with a comfortable couch and armchairs to relax in. A gas fireplace adds ambiance, and the TV is hidden in a corner hutch. A large picture window allows for loads of natural light and the walls are infused with personality through artwork—a warm and welcoming spot, indeed! The dining and kitchen areas are equipped to gather up to six people. During the warmer months, the three-season porch is a favorite spot to spend time playing games, reading, or relaxing with views toward the private backyard. Two bedrooms—a king-bedded primary and two twin beds in the guest room—share a full bathroom on this level.
The lower walk-out level offers even more space to enjoy with a second living area complete with fireplace, large mud room, laundry area, and a second bathroom. This level has warm wood paneling and comfy details throughout.
Nearby are two favorite local attractions: The Fly Rod Shop to practice your cast and set up fishing excursions and Stowe Maple Products. Not to worry if you run out of syrup at breakfast as they are just a stroll away (also a great spot to visit during the sugaring season in the spring when they are boiling the sap!).
We were informed on the day of arrival that the dishwasher was broken and would not be repaired before our departure. This was frustrating but these things can happen. However, we also informed the management agent that the tap water was coming out brown / orange 9even after running for many minutes), the water filter on the fridge was broken and there was no trash can on the property (either inside or outside)! None of these issues were resolved or even responded to. We won't be back.
