Stayed Jun 5, 2021It is a beautiful house with a nice flow to it. History is everywhere for grabs. However everything is old: the furniture is old and rather uncomfortable, the beds too. But as I said, the house grows on you. After two weeks you are used to all the discomfort and what stays is the beautiful house, it’s balcony and the sea view. Very strong WiFi, which is good because the telephone reception is not that good.

Stayed Aug 17, 2019A lovely house in a beautiful location. Stayed with adult sons and their partners. Would not be a young family friendly house. Plenty of opportunities for lovely walks in the area. I have given an overall rating of 4 stars because I would have liked to have had better and extra towels (only supplied with one per person and one tea towel) and would have happily brought my own if I had known.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We stayed as a couple with a baby in this romantic house. We felt like home. Very clean. Best season for all the hortensies in the gardens. Good fun to hike around the village along/above the cllffs with sea view.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969A characterful belle epoque villa, furnished eclectically, overlooking the sea. Our grandchildren enjoyed the large park opposite the villa and the beach, a short 5 minutes walk away, albeit down some steep steps! We enjoyed eating on the veranda in the evening from where you could watch the sunset. The villa is spacious, giving the children plenty of room to play in inclement weather. All the beds were comfortable and the house was clean. One disadvantage was that there was only one toilet upstairs and that was in an en suite bathroom. The other 2 en suites did not have toilets. All the appliances were dated, but fully functioning. Bois de Cise village itself is in a wooded valley leading down to the sea with villas dotted among the trees. There is a restaurant in the village, though we did not try it. We ate out at Le Treport, only 10 minutes away by car, where many restaurants line the harbour. The owner responded promptly to emails and the caretaker was welcoming and helpful. On our final night, we enjoyed a magnificent firework display from the veranda (every year on 15th August).
