The house was great! Large enough for the whole family, plenty of sleeping space, nice kitchen & bathrooms, great location!
We enjoyed our stay in this antique home. Everything is in good working condition, and it has character. (Clawfoot bathtub! Creepy basement that looks like it's from Blair Witch Project! Slanted ceilings upstairs and original wood staircase!) That said, this house has just the basics inside and nothing extra. For exampe, there's a frying pan, but not a mixing bowl. There's *one* cutting board, but not a complete set of measuring cups. No fridge magnets, no pens, no spatula. We purchased and gifted to the house room darkening curtains for the front bedroom (you're welcome), but guests in the other rooms will want to bring a sleep mask or additional window treatments to block out light. Also note, there are two window AC units - one upstairs, and one downstairs. They work well, but if the weather is very hot, they'll be working very hard to cool the entire house. There is a box fan available in each of the upstairs bedrooms. Also note, contrary to the listing, the washer and dryer in the basement are free (not coin operated). But you must bring your own flashlight to go downstairs! The steps are pitch black even in the middle of the day. We had only pleasant interactions with the neighbors and saw a momma deer and her fawn grazing on the lawn across the street early one morning. The house is conveniently located near the beach and downtown Manistee.
This property had plenty of room for everyone, and was tiddy and clean. Proximity to the beach was a plus.
perfect for a long weekend in Manistee. owner very available and responsive. Very clean and comfortable accommodations. everything is walkable.
First time using vrbo. Would have liked a little communication but overall great.
Cute house in a quiet neighborhood. Got to explore it all by walking and meeting cute dogs. Walk to the beach is about 10 minutes but we drove which was less than 5 minutes., and Lake Michigan is beautiful. Downtown Manistee was a nice area to walk through. Supermarkets are not far which was convenient for us. Overall our stay was nice and pleasant. We enjoyed our stay at the house. Thank you.
It is a renovated older house with character that was located within great proximity of the activities that we had planned. It is located just down the street from a very nice downtown Manistee. Everyone we encountered in the area were very nice and helpful.
Very nice spacious house. It was clean. Very large bedrooms. My only complaint is that there is a approximately 1” ledge step up between the living room and dining room that I stubbed my toe on bad! Other than that, no issues.
We enjoyed a pleasant stay with close access to the First Street Beach (and its amazing wooden playground for our kids) and a central location to explore some attractions in Arcadia and Ludington.
