Our family gathered at this beautiful home over the holidays. It’s an incredible property with a lot of space that allows for families to get together in the same space, while also providing room for privacy when needed. Teddy was very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. We were so grateful to have the opportunity to stay at this fantastic rental.
We are strongly considering renting the house again for thanksgiving maybe even a few years in a row
Great House and location. Would definitely rent again.
Place was amazing! Teddy is a great host!
I'll start by saying the house was great. It was clean and big. One bathroom didn't have a shower which wasn't what the listing said and one bedroom only had one king. When we arrived the house wasn't cleaned. Long story short there was a mistake that happened. I'm unsure if it was the cleaners or the host's fault, but in the end we came to a solution that was agreeable for us and the host. However getting to that solution was extremely difficult. Teddy was very unpleasant to talk to. She accused me of trying to extort her for money when I asked for the cleaning fee back before we came to our solution of staying an extra night and our first night in the bigger house next door. She also went on a rant about how difficult it is to find good cleaners and how much taxes she pays for the property like I really cared. I really was not upset that the mistake happened and the house was not cleaned because I understand that mistakes happen. In the end, Teddy made it right and we had an awesome time but it took about an hour to come to a solution for something that should have taken less than 20 minutes and it took more than 5 very unpleasant conversations on the phone. I wouldn't stay again because of this.
We had a great time at this house. Teddy was amazing and answered our messages immediately. The house was very spacious and accommodated our group of 18 very easily with plenty of room for everyone. Fully equipped with all linens and basic necessities. Would definitely rent again.
The house was spacious fit our 18 people easily. Parking fit many cars, location is great. Perfect for our friends ski weekend.
Beautiful Ski Chalet minutes from Hunter Mountain base. Open spaces with beautiful views. Fully outfitted house great for Adult entertaining and children playing. Beds are comfy and bathrooms are excellent! Teddy the agent is very responsive. Excellent WiFi (Not that you need it but one party member did work remotely for a day). Not much to critique except for: Living room furniture is in desperate need of an upgrade. You basically fall off of the Leather couches if you attempt to sit. When you first light the fireplace despite the flu being open, the house gets smoked out a bit until the power vent turns on. The property/driveway has no black top. It’s basically mud and gravel and there’s no mud room to freely enter. Expect to get muddy. Great place for a getaway if you like Hunter Mountain.
We had a lovely stay here. Property was very nice, spacious and clean. Some bathrooms needs some improvements (that will be there everywhere). We used the lake and kayak’s and sports room a lot.
Dim kitchen: burned out light bulbs or light/fan fixtures not working. Both refrigerator freezers failed to keep ice cream firm. Chipped dishes. One toilet: water continuously running. Would not recommend.
Stayed in Sept. 2022, overall we had a great visit! Property has great views of the mountains and lake, would be great to view the fall foliage or the snow fall. We did not swim due to the algae close to the shore line, however other neighbors were in the water, we could not see if they had algae around their docks. Good neighborhood, can walk the road or hike close by. 5 minutes from Hunter mountain, close to downtown where there is a grocery store, gas stations, brewery, restaurants. Communication from Teddy was easy and very timely. Outside grounds could use some upkeep. Interior was clean, everything we needed to cook was in the kitchen: plenty of sharp knives, utensils, tongs, spatulas, bowels, plates, large amount of mugs, glasses, etc. Everyone remarked on the very comfy beds, linens, pillows, towels provided. Plenty of on-site parking.
I struggled with whether or not to write this review. But ultimately I thought my comments might be helpful to the host and future renters. First the positive : the house was very nice – needs some updates/fixes but very nice. It was large enough to easily accommodate our group of 18. The views from the house were awesome. The fire pit was great. Teddy was good at responding to my text or calls – I always didn’t get the response I was hoping for, but she always responded to me in a timely manner. Now the negative. We rented this house as a “lake front” property for swimming. Before renting I made sure to ask about swimming and was told it was great for swimming. It was not! The algae / weeds growing made it difficult to go in the water for anyone in our group. Worse than the algae/weeds were the geese droppings. I understand the renter can’t control geese but they could clean the yard and at the very least clean the poop off of the dock. Incredibly difficult to walk in yard or the dock. All the articles I read strongly suggested that people not swim in water with a large amount of goose poop because of disease – so we didn’t. The hot tub was filthy when we arrived. Teddy sent her guy to work on it right away. The hot tub guy was very diligent trying to get it clean and working but to no avail. He made several trips to the house in an effort to get it working but it was broken and could not be used at all during our stay. (Was a little disappointed that we were not compensated in any way for an unusable hot tub but I really didn’t expect anything) The bottom line is I believe this is probably an amazing winter rental for someone who skis but it is not a great summer rental for the cost. Overall the grounds were not kept up the way you would expect a high end summer rental would be - goose poop, cigarette butts and overgrown shrubs. I don’t think they treat this house as a high-end summer rental and I don’t think they should charge for it is a high-end summer rental.
The house was nice. BEWARE it only has AC on the main level which doesn't reach the 2 bedrooms on that floor. The top floor was brutally hot for a few days until the weather cooled down. We went in August 2022. The bottom floor was ok. There were ceiling fans but didn't really help. They only had foos ball. The darts didn't work. The outside could have been taken care of better. Shrubs were overgrown and broken chairs at the fire pit. The dock is leaning but was fine. Overall it was a great house with a great view from the deck. It says towels and linens are supplied. Each room just got one towel. No washcloths. Bring your own. Teddy the manager was great. She answered my emails quickly. There were 19 of us all ages. We had a great time.
The house is gorgeous, with amazing views, both inside and out. The lake was peaceful and big enough for all ages to experience and get something out of. Fishing, kayaking and swimming. Fish were plentiful. My 5 year old would drop his hook in and moments later hook up a fish over and over again. We did choose to kayak to the other side of the lake to swim because there was a clear spot there and we had a turtle hanging out at our dock. Lots of wildlife to enjoy, including a bald eagle that came by and was beautiful to watch. 4ish kayaks were provided. Any issues we had Teddie was quick with a response and problem solved with us to fix it. A nasty storm blew through, literally, flipping over chairs outside which might explain why there were limited chairs by the fire pit and some where broken. If I had a suggestion would be more chairs specifically for outside use. Also the house is not considered a/ced there was one, and ceiling fans and one stand alone fan. One ceiling fan we couldn't get to go on. (highest one) and maybe bring a fan to help circulate air into the upstairs room that sleeps 6. But honestly these are minor things. We loved our stay and it easily held the 18 of us with plenty of room. We also did some local hiking, the area was nice and peaceful. The pictures don't do it justice and it is bigger than the pictures made it look. Also PLENTY of closet space.
Great experience. Teddy was great
