TRASH. Please don’t dump on us! There is no trash collection in Big East Fork Valley. Someone has to remove the trash and take it to the dump or to town. If you do this yourself, your entire $100 Community Fee Trash Deposit will be returned to you. If you leave any un-bagged trash in the house or trash cans, you will forfeit your Community Trash Deposit Fee. If you leave bagged trash in the outside trash receptacles, you will be charged $5 per bag for its proper disposal. This can really add up! You may contract to have your bagged trash removed by a private party (A list of trash removers is on our web-site, www.theforkinn.com/3rdparties).
One of the best ways to reduce the volume of your trash is to separate organic materials that we may compost to make soil for our gardens. If you are checking out on noon Sunday, come bring your usable food, drink, and spirit to the Center for Sustainable Stewardship’s Community Brunch, held every Sunday noon at the CSS Farm, 5400 Big East Fork Rd. Meet, greet, and express gratitude to the people who have worked hard to make your stay memorable. It takes a village to prepare and maintain our valley and its houses. Meet the Chief Steward and members of CSS who maintain the trails, take care of watercraft, groom the hiking trails, and care for the farm animals. And meet the Fork Inn team that landscape the houses, clean the rooms, prepare the laundry, and service our guests to give them the unique experiences found in the Big East Fork Valley.
So only place properly bagged garbage in garbage bins. Do not place garbage directly in large garbage receptacles unless it has been bagged.
NO UNBAGGED TRASH in our large waste containers or grounds. There will be a $100 extra charge if we have to bag any trash. Don’t place trash outside of bins making it accessible to hungry critters.

THE BASE PRICE IS FOR FOUR (4) PERSONS. There is a $40/person/night additional charge for the number of persons over four.
Very nice house, the writing of how the property costs are… is vague. Mice droppings in the house and draws. We saw no mice though. Get ready to pay for this property. But very nice house near downtown Franklin, Tenn.
We really enjoyed the house, hot tub, privacy. The house was very beautiful, way off the road, and very roomy. No cell service but that was one of the best things about it. The care taker was very rude and in my opinion didn’t even try to make sure the house was up to par. He did everything but cus my guest’s out. Other than that our trip was exactly how we had planned.
Plenty big for family and friends. Enjoy the quite and beautiful area.
Beautiful location but a bit far from downtown.
This house is unique and gorgeous. The photos do not do it justice. There was plenty of room for our family of four plus a couple of overnight guests during our extended stay. The layout with the separate primary bedroom is great. The beds were very comfortable and we really enjoyed our visit. Wade was very friendly during check in and helpful throughout our month-long stay. Though the check in process/visit was a little lengthy after a long, tiring drive, it was also helpful to learn about the house and the area and I appreciate the effort that went into helping us get our bearings. There were a couple of maintenance issues during our stay but they were attended to promptly. There are definitely mice and a lot of bugs (to be expected based on the location) so if that's an issue for you, this house may not be the best fit. The driveway to the front door is very steep and requires 4-wheel drive. You can park under the house which is easier to access but you will have to carry your suitcases up a flight of stairs which may be an issue for some. There is no cell coverage at the house and we found the internet service to be very slow. (Definitely not enough speed for streaming video.) We did not use the satellite television. I did hear from the owner after our visit to say that he found the satellite wasn't working properly and was replacing the modem so hopefully that helps with the internet speed as well. There are a few small things that could be done to make the house even better. A towel hook and shelf for soap and shampoo for the outdoor shower would make this great feature even better. A comfy chair in the main bedroom would make this getaway spot even more of a sanctuary. The refrigerator door is extremely hard to open and should be repaired. Finally, making sure that the kitchen has all of the items needed for cooking a basic meal would be helpful. We purchased inexpensive measuring cups and spoons and left them for the next guests as we found these items missing. If you are planning to use the CSS amenities, be sure you understand exactly how this works and what is available beforehand. Some of the advertised activities were not available during our stay--which we learned after our arrival and making a donation to the CSS, which was a bit of a disappointment. The CSS website may not be accurate and up-to-date, so be sure to talk to someone first.
We had such an amazing experience with the house!! It was clean, well decorated, and perfect for our group of 4. The pictures do not do it justice. Check-in & check-out was very easy thanks to Wade (who also gave us an incredibly warm welcome and some history of the area as well as restaurant tips). The next time we are in Tennessee, we will ABSOLUTELY use this property again!
Had an amazing experience with renting this property. Very nice and clean home with plenty of space for 12 adults. The nicest home I’ve been in with a gorgeous master suite. Bathroom in the master included a large bathtub, double vanity, walk in shower the size of the room as well as an outdoor shower not visible by any other point in the house. Beautiful walking trails just across the road where you are able to fully immerse yourself into the nature surrounding the area. Only two things that were an inconvenience was the trash and the drive to Nashville. We knew about the trash going in, so that wasn’t a huge deal. The property ends up being 40-45 minutes to downtown Nashville with no Uber/Lyfts coming to the specific area. There is also no service at the location but there is wifi so you can still iMessage/FaceTime. Overall an excellent experience and would recommend to anyone and everyone!
This was such a great stay! It was private and absolutely gorgeous. Relaxing and lots of great hiking!
Wade was so helpful getting our team settled in. Location is gorgeous with so much natural light pouring into home. Perfect for large groups. Nestled back into the trees with lots of walking trail options. Loved our time here.
Property and location were great - cabin in the woods, near a farm and a couple of short hiking trails. The house was very roomy for our group of 6 and we especially enjoyed the newly installed hot tub. Wade was responsive and helpful during our stay. There were a few minor issues that we experienced: 1. Cleanliness - not horrible but we found some mouse droppings and some trash in the house 2. The fireplace was not working - not a dealbreaker but it would have been nice to have been informed of it when making the booking 3. It was a little strange that we were requested to show proof of making a donation to the non-profit before they provided us with firewood to make use of the outdoor firepit Overall we still had an enjoyable stay and would recommend booking the property!
