Stayed Feb 12, 2026It is a large log house that comfortably accommodates a large family. It is surrounded by nature - a unique experience. I found dozens of dead bugs on the floor. That could be remedied by someone inspecting the house before the guests' arrival.

Stayed Sep 6, 2025This large home is located in a great area with easy access to Glacier National Park, Kalispell and the surrounding area. I have rented homes for many years for family gatherings and this the most well stocked home I have rented. LuAnn is a superb host! She is very responsive, accommodating and a pleasure to work with. We will definitely stay her again if we return to the area.

Stayed Aug 3, 2025It was beautiful and had lots of extras that made our stay very fun and easy. There were lots of outdoor games that our adult kids played. The kitchens were well stocked with things that made our big meals easy to prepare and serve. The hotplate was great. The screen divider was also an excellent way for extra privacy since we had 7 couples. We loved the wildlife that wondered up to the house and of course were so grateful for your flexibilty of an early check-in. The hot was used everyday. It was nice to have so many sitting areas so people had breaks from the group. It was a perfect distance to activities in Whitefish and Glacier National Park. I highly recommend this to anyone.

Stayed Jul 26, 2025We had an incredible stay. Walking Bear is beautiful, comfortable & well beyond expectations. We have stayed in many vacation homes over the years & by far this was the best supplied home. There were 14 of us & we had plenty of room. We all enjoyed the visits from a momma deer & her babies. Lu Ann was wonderful. She was very responsive to any question we had. The location is excellent, convenient to Kalispell & about a half hour to the west entrance of Glacier. Highly recommend this home.

Stayed Jul 17, 2025Sixteen family members used Walking Bear as base camp for 10 days in NW Montana. Great location - easy to get to Whitefish, Kalispell, Big Fork, Flathead Lake, Whitefish Lake, and Glacier. House had just about everything we could have needed and the hot tube and large backyard were put to good use.

Stayed Jun 21, 2025Our big group of 16 stayed at Walking Bear Lodge for a week and it felt magical from the moment we arrived. Nestled in what felt like our own little forest just off the main road, the beautiful log cabin provided the perfect combination of rustic Montana charm and modern comfort for our four extended families. The house itself is spacious, strategically built for separate dwellings but also designed for intentional gatherings. We cooked meals together in the two kitchens and were able to keep one dedicated gluten free for our celiac family members. Sitting around the stone fireplace in the main living room while we planned our days of hiking to Glacier, playing games, or watching movies was a comforting joy and the perfect spot to gather. There was always room for everyone to relax, play, and reconnect, whether around the fireplace, the grand kitchen table, the front deck, hot tub, or the outdoor fire pit. We had everything we needed and would definitely return for another stay!

Stayed Jun 16, 2025Our stay at this cabin made for a wonderful destination for our little family reunion for all that attended. Everyone had an incredible and memorable time. Upon arrival, we just happened to show up in time to meet our host in person, LuAnn... she's a really sweet gal with a wonderful sense of humor. It was our pleasure to meet you, LuAnn!The cabin is warm and inviting with all of the wood fixtures, decor, and amenities. There was never a dull moment during our stay. Everyone always had something to do.As for nearby activities, the list is lengthy... nearby lakes, shops, forest roller-coaster, alpine slides, zip-lines, scenic lifts, hiking, mountain summits, and Glacier National Park kept us all busy wanting more. But it was the relaxing times at the cabin just sitting by the fire, playing games together, or chit-chatting on one of the various porches or rooms was always enjoyable. Many thanks for all of the fond memories we took with us!Chris and Patricia

Stayed May 20, 2025First of all, this location is excellent. A 5 mile drive to Safeway/downtown Whitefish and 35-40 minutes to Glacier National Park. Lots of parking and a mud room off the lot with bear spray, etc. we wanted a home base for both outdoor adventures and town/shopping/dining so this was excellent for a large party with a range of interests. The property is the best equipped we have stayed in, from kitchenware to cleaning supplies to bedding, with strong wifi. This incudes outdoor equipment like corn hole and a weber grill, with a lawn big enough to practice fly casting. The setup has numerous balconies and a large communal area, but also features up & down kitchens/laundry and private suites that allow a balance of privacy and gathering. We blended active young adults, retirees, toddlers and people just meeting one another comfortably. Finally, the host was terrific. I don’t think we ever waited 15 minutes for a reply and check in & out was easy and flexible. LuAnn was super supportive.

Stayed Feb 13, 2025We stayed for a ski trip with 3 families total. 11 kids. Plenty of space for everyone. The kitchen was so well stocked to cook for our large group. LuAnn and Steve were both great, and very responsive and helpful. We extended our stay one night because of weather and LuAnn was amazing about it. Highly recommend this property. Would be a wonderful place in the summer also.

Stayed Sep 15, 2024Our group of nine had a wonderful stay at the lodge. It was very clean (and I am particular). The hosts were responsive, accommodating, and friendly! From the large kitchen space, to the outdoor decks, hot pool, and fire pit, it was all lovely. The beds were comfortable and we all had enough space to spread out at night. It was the BEST retreat to come back to after a day of adventures! We all highly recommend and want to come back soon!

Stayed Aug 31, 2024There were 12 of us staying in this house and it suited us well. Plenty of room to move about, beds were good, hot tub was good, fire pit area was nice at night. Convenient to Glacier National Park, Whitefish and Kalispell (airport). The two kitchens were a nice feature; would have been nice to have more chairs around the long table but we were able to bring more chairs up from downstairs. Keep in mind, you definitely will need a vehicle when you stay here. All in all we had a good time. Montana is beautiful!

Stayed Aug 4, 2024Our group of family friends decided to make a return trip to Glacier National Park. We needed a place that could accommodate 17 adults. This rustic home was perfect. It is well appointed with everything we could possibly need for a weeks’ stay-even bear spray for our hikes. :) The only issue is that the main level is the only one that can be temperature regulated.- making both the upstairs and downstairs a bit warm and stuffy. If we ever return to the area with a large group, we would definitely stay here again.
