This contemporary mountain chalet delivers a definite “wow factor” and a fabulous day-to-day lifestyle.

Perched on the side of a hill, this modern-rustic palace is built around a classic A-frame at its heart, and intelligently makes the most of its striking views with well-placed windows, plus a patio and hot tub positioned to overlook the mountains that give the sense of floating in mid-air amongst their undulating majesty.

You’re going to live well and love every day you spend here.

As you step through the front door, you’ll be greeted by a bright, open living area with an inviting L-shaped leather sofa that’s perfectly positioned to enjoy the stunning mountain view from the picture window. There’s a large wall-mounted TV here, and with such heavenly, comfortable seating, go ahead and give yourself license to doze during your favorite shows. You’ll notice some interior windows on one end of the room. Take a peek in and look down into the gym on the level below – a two-story room with windows to the ceiling that shed additional daylight into the living area. Smart, beautiful design!

The living space flows into a dining area, in the “A” frame heart of the home, where two stories of windows provide a truly awesome view at mealtimes. The pine paneling lends a quintessential “mountain house” vibe. A long dining table with banquette seating on one side and a bench on the other offers intimate seating for unhurried dinners and indulgent group conversation.

A wide, sliding glass door opens from the dining area onto a fabulous long patio where lounge chairs and a fire pit overlook mountain scenery that will bring a tear to your eye. Wander down a terra-cotta pathway to find a semi-circle of rocks embracing a 4-person hot tub, seemingly at the edge of the world. This is the way to do the Colorado Rockies! This patio continues along the length of the house to the rear of the garage, where a roll-up door provides unique access directly from the garage to the patio.

Back inside, the dining area provides an unobstructed view into the sleek, modern kitchen. A breakfast bar extension with a sink overlooks the dining table. Counter space and cabinetry are plentiful. You’ll enjoy high-end appliances, including a spacious refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, cooktop, oven, and microwave. Smaller appliances have been provided for your convenience, including a coffee maker, blender and toaster, as well as little details cooks will appreciate, like a complete set of chef’s knives.

Behind the kitchen, a dedicated laundry room provides a full-size washer and dryer, a countertop and storage.

After an energetic day of hiking (especially in crisp weather), you’ll be grateful for the sauna! Step in, put your feet up, and let the warmth envelop and restore you.

A spacious primary bedroom on this level provides a desk and executive desk chair for those who may be working or studying from home. This work area is beautifully positioned in a bay window with a picture pane at its center. With such a stunning natural view, nothing (and nobody) from work can rattle you! This bedroom also includes a king-size bed, a dresser, and its own TV.

This home is nestled into the side of a hill, giving you a full-height lower level.

Downstairs, you’ll find two additional bedrooms and a bath, plus that fabulous two-story-high gym with windows to the ceiling and fabulous views.

One bedroom can be accessed both from inside the home, and via a private outdoor entrance on the side of the house. It includes a convertible sleeper sectional. In our pictures you see them setup as two twin-sized areas. But these can be pushed together to create one large king-sized sleeping area. This room includes a large TV and bathroom. . Across the hall, a soothing, smaller bedroom offers a king-size bed, a TV, and a large closet.

Now, where’s that fourth bedroom Follow us back upstairs to the dining area in the A-frame center of the home. Look up to the peak of the ceiling. A balcony! That’s where you’ll find an open area that benefits from the views through those fabulous mountain-high windows. A queen-size bed is tucked discreetly into a dedicated nook with a window at one end of the space. The open area can easily be used as a yoga or meditation studio, a play area, or a place to “camp out” with sleeping bags. We provide a privacy screen for your convenience to separate noise and view from the open area.

You’ll be pleased with the bathrooms in the home, all tastefully decorated and appointed.

Hotel-grade linens are professionally laundered after every visit.

Pros: the property has an amazing view and nice outdoor spaces, including a hot tub. The sauna inside the house is also very well done.Cons: unfortunately, we had issues with mice and female black widow spiders during our stay, which was supposed to be two months in duration. We encountered mouse droppings in the kitchen and living room. Management came right away and placed glue traps and sprayed for spiders, however the issues persisted. We were traveling with our cats, and a female black widow spider can kill a cat. With that in mind, and the unsanitary nature of mouse droppings, especially in the kitchen, we no longer felt safe staying at the property. We departed a month early as a result.
