We purchased this house pre-pandemic in hopes of remodeling it into our dream home. Since then our family has grown by 2, so we are now a family of 6 and have unfortunately outgrown use for this home. It was originally built on stilts and then the previous owners enclosed the bottom part of the estate into livable space/ in-law quarters with 2 bedrooms and 1- double shower bathroom. It is not connected to the top part of the house nor is the top part of the house occupied by guests. It is vacant. We are keeping it this way and renting the bottom part and plan on bulldozing and starting from scratch in the next few years to accomodate the space we now need. Your booking allows access to all parts of the bottom enclosed in law suites and property grounds, patio, spa and rooftop balcony. It is exclusive to the guests who book. We look forward to hosting you!
Guest Access:
You can get around the neighborhood by car, bike or foot. There is ample parking for at least 12 cars
The Neighborhood:
Lovely residential agcricultural area with private 1.25+ Acre estates across from Loxahatchee River Battelfield State Park with biking, running walking trails on property.
Other Things to Note:
Absolutely no swimming in the lake or pond or canal. Strictly supervise children. There are alligators. Pets must be leashed at all times.
For parties with more than 6 adults, please inquire before booking. The sleeper sofa will comfortably sleep 2 children each, but adults need to be aware depending on the size of the adult it may or may not be able to accomodate 2 guests per sleeper sofa.
The downstairs area of this property is available for this booking. The upstairs is not inhabited by any guests and is not included in the booking
Interaction with Guests:
I am available by phone or text. I live in the same neighborhood I can respond within minutes to the property.
The house is beautiful. It’s comfortable and Tiffany was very nice and provided us with early check in. It’s very quiet and relaxing. My family enjoyed it very much. Definitely recommend it and I would book again with no hesitation.
Photos show a spectacular house but access available only to first floor, which really only sleeps 4 comfortably. It's like renting a two bedroom one bath apartment. Owner seems nice and did warn us upfront it would be tight for 8 people (2 families of 4) originally planning to vacation together. But it was very tight even just for 2 adults and 3 kids who were able to make the trip. BTW, when I asked owner to consider a refund of extra persons who couldn't come due to Covid (extra charges per person we paid up front) I got no response. So, good communication from owner until we left, but then we heard nothing. Two other complaints: no oven and one of kid's bikes has a flat tire that pump in storage room couldn't fix (lucky we had pump in car that worked). If the best part of the house is access to the state park for bike riding, count on 3 bikes working neither of which is really built for a child younger than 11 years old. So, yeah, wonderful place owner is fixing up, but I feel like I invested more in their remodeling costs than in a vacation house. Recommend others ignore the pictures and check amenities list very closely.
Great spot! All the amenities and personal touches on everything really makes you feel at home. The hosts are fabulous and on everything you could possibly need! Loved everything!!!
