Stayed Jan 21, 2026Wonderful place near Volcano National Park. Cooler provided by the host so you can bring a picnic lunch with you into the park. So great!

Stayed Jun 23, 2025Just as described and convenient to the park. Entrance to the unit could be challenging to a sports car. A steep decline from the road.

Stayed May 10, 2025Our stay at this house was overall pleasant. It was not exactly as expected, but we enjoyed our stay.Pros: It's clean, close to the Volcano Park (less than 10 minutes), and has a beautiful, natural feel to it.Cons: Our first impression is that it is in a different type of community than we're used to...less...tidy and kept. Although, this house is probably the nicest one in the neighborhood. Then, the VRBO post, at the time of my booking, did not disclose that there is no air conditioning (and it does get stuffy.) Also not disclosed, the water is supplied by a rainwater cistern, and I'm not sure if it's filtered. We used bottled water for toothbrushing and washing produce/food. Last, my daughter stepped on a piece of glass about 5 minutes after we arrived, so while it's overall very clean, that was our unfortunate experience.But, once we settled in...It was a peaceful place and served us well during our days on the east coast of Hawaii. Stayed Apr 8, 2025Property is private and secluded. Tricky to find if arriving after dark. The driveway is steep. Once inside it felt very cozy, tranquil, and private. Furnishings well maintained. Landscaping is beautiful. It was a great home base retreat for what we wanted to do.

Stayed Apr 11, 2025The house and location were ideal for our two day visit to the park. The check-in process was easy and the owners were very helpful. It takes only a few minutes to get to the entrance of Volcanoes National Park. The house was well equipped and quite large, and easily fit our six guests (two families, each with a 10-year old). We ate in one night and the kitchen had everything we needed - from wine glasses to a cheese grater. The main bedroom had a private bath and shower and the other two bedrooms shared a full bath. The two kids loved the twin bunkbeds (4 beds). The appliances were all modern and easy to use (washer/dryer, stove, etc.). I highly recommend this house and the owner was great to work with!

Stayed May 26, 2023Lovely home, well-appointed with everything you need and then some. Only issue was that we only had bath towels for 2, but there were 6 of us—we just used the beach towels. Property was beautiful, rustic feel but very comfortable and clean. No issues with stay.

Stayed Feb 24, 2023Over the years I’ve started in about a dozen rentals in the Volcano area and this one was the cleanest! Everything was in great shape and well appointed. Perfect for our family weekend!
