The third bedroom is just upstairs from the living room, and offers a bit more privacy as it's the only bedroom on this upper floor. This home will comfortably sleep eight guests (there is also a queen-sized futon in the living room). Additional amenities include a washer and dryer for guest use, so you'll have no worries about keeping your pant legs out of the surf and your clothes clean as you explore Florence and the coast!
With a location about five miles north of historic downtown Florence, the Heceta Beach area is a quiet little community. There's a large expanse of sandy beach to explore, so bring a kite, your beach ball, and jogging shoes. Also just north of the house, Darlingtonia State Natural Site is an 18-acre botanical garden dedicated to protecting a single plant species - the Darlingtonia californica, also known as the Cobra Lily. This carnivorous plant has purple blooms in the spring and year-round this park offers a unique glimpse of insect-feasting flora, as well as hiking trails, picnic areas, and a boardwalk. After a stop here, keep heading north about 10 miles to the Heceta Head Lighthouse for a tour of this historic site and to take some pictures of one of the most photographed structures on the Oregon Coast.

We loved the ocean view. The living quarters were nice, but some things need repaired, replaced, etc. We enjoyed our stay even though te weather was cooler than we had expected.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the home. Heaters kept us warm. Kitchen was well stocked. Beach access is great. View is amazing with the sun sunsetting!
Fantastic views and great town to eat and walk around old town. Lots of tourist things to do from going to the Sand Dunes or near by Lite House and Seal Caves. Walk on the Beach from just outside the house. House is older and could use an upgrade hear or there but everything works, clean and priced accordingly.
We had a great time, slept well and loved being right in the beach!
The Whale's Crossing has a beautiful view of the ocean and nice beach access via a trail through the bushes on the hillside [a bit of a hike back to the home but very manageable] or you can drive 2 minutes down the street to park and walk out to the beach. The home has a very comfortable family feel and the living area is set with a huge sofa on one side and a smaller one across the room. There is a small table with chairs as well as 2 comfy chairs to sit and watch the ocean. The kitchen was well stocked with all we needed and everything was in good working order. Beds are great and a very nice washer/dryer. This is the home for you if you are looking for wonderful ocean views and beach time as well as relaxing at home.
Incredibly beautiful view with the advantage of the solarium! Property a little difficult to locate so needs better signage. HA, we tried to get in a different house! Well equipped but house needs a little bit of TLC. Would love to land here again!
Absolutely remarkable and breathtaking views from common area of home! Downsides are: 1. This house is in desperate need of black mold removal and a remodel for safety concerns. The bottom bedrooms were not able to be slept in due to being infested with black mold. This does happen in the coastal area but can not be ignored. If you are allergic (like i am) you will notice the effect as soon as walking into common living area and the downstairs bedrooms. Our family that travelled all the way from Idaho slept upstairs and my husband and I had to sleep on the couch with the kitchen window open just so we could breathe. 2. Finding the house was a frustrating challenge. After finally finding it we realized the street number was hidden in street bushes that were severely overgrown. 3. Only one heater worked in the home. Upsides: 1. In fairness to Vacasa, they did refund some of my reward points for the inconvenience and were extremely helpful in listening to our concerns. 2. The house WAS cleaned properly in bathrooms, kitchen and counters. Plenty of towels so you could stay clean and go to the beach! 3. View, View, View!! The solarium was breathtaking! Overall we made the Best of it regardless the situation because in this day and age we must make every memory count! Hope the owner will consider fixing the issues of the home so that more memories can be made for other families!!
This place has the most amazing views and huge sunroom windows.
We loved hearing the ocean and having family together!
The only thing I loved was the porch because the view of the ocean was beautiful.
Unfortunately, the website does not accurately reflect the condition of this Vacasa property. The list is long of items that needed to be taken care of. The first thing you see upon entering the porch to collect the key is the porch light covered in an old bird nest and poop trailing down it to the floor, Dirty wall to wall carpeting, a closet door off tracks, heater not working in one bedroom, Windowsills on the inside were caked with mold and dirt, and the list goes on. Pretty much the only positive is the location and view.
Home needs repairs/new carpet. For the price, (please note, adding VRBO fees actually DOUBLES the advertised per night price!!!!) we definitely felt like the home wasn't worth it. The solarium is really very nice. However, some dirt and spiders have taken up residence along the windows as well so be prepared to share your space. I know that coastal properties take extra abuse from the elements and from visitors so one has to be prepared for some funkiness but there's an expectation for the price of cleaning fees/damage fees/etc... The carpet is extremely soiled throughout, the stove bottom was broken, dent in the fridge, hole in the upstairs bedroom door, wall heater didn't work in downstairs bedroom. Plugged in a cell phone to charge in upstairs bedroom and a fuse blew (had to reset it at the electrical panel). The sheets were clean as were the bathrooms. Kitchen also relatively clean. Stove was not (fan on stove-top had food chunks that had fallen in and we had to wipe down oven rack before cooking a pizza). VRBO has been notified of all issues. Perhaps others have complained but the owners haven't been notified of needed repairs???
Not at all what was described in the listing. The listing shows a beautiful CLEAN beach home but when we showed up there was a pile of poop on the light fixtures and on the porch floors next to both of the front doors. The carpets and windows were filthy, closet doors derailed, curtains ripped, holes in the screen windows. Security lights and porch lights do not work (one of the security lights was hanging down the side of the home) this is a safety hazard because there's stairs leading to the front door, we all had to use the flashlights on our phones so we could see where we were going. The railing on the stairs were not secure either. This was a special occasion for my daughter as she was going to be proposed to here but we ended up having to go elsewhere. We reached out to Vacasa and they sent a member of their team to address the light issue so we pointed out all the other issues that I listed above and he said they had a busy summer and they wasn't able to get to everything and they were aware of the light issues. If this was the case we should have been made aware of it all or they should have not rented it out until it was all fixed! I reached out to Vacasa multiple time via text and emails with pictures and videos, and no one called me back. Instead they sent me an email saying they're glad all my issues were resolved. NO IT WAS NOT RESOLVED!!!! I'M STILL WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO CALL ME BACK! Do not rent here this listing is very misleading.
Pictures misleading. Very dirty. Stains on carpet. Windows dirty. Curtain broken. Tape on window with black mold. No rail going up the short walk. To hard for older people to navigate. Called as soon as we arrived. Couldn’t get my 82 and 83 min and aunt up the walk as the undergrowth was taking over the pathway and they tried holding onto the fronds to stabilize themself. Would not stay there with the mold, dirtyness of the place with them. Called the property management to let them know. They couldn’t give me an answer. Told them I put the key back and went to town and booked a room. We live 7 hours away. Very disappointed in the company as I still don’t have a refund Overall horrible customer service and experience
You’re definitely paying for the great view. House could use some upgrades though. Upstairs bedroom curtains are hung on very lumpy and bent rods and the curtains are see through and don’t make for good privacy. One of the solarium shades is busted and coffee grounds were in the coffee maker when we arrived.
The views from this property are awesome and as advertised. My friends and family had a great time. The place needs a good deep clean. Nothing major, but mold on the window screens, there was stuff on the carpet upon our arrival, etc... I would definitely stay here again. I think the property owners aren't getting the most out of their cleaning staff. BEAUTIFUL VIEWS and very nice neighbors.
