A large comfortable house with lots of amenities within walking distance of a Gold Medal trout stream.
Great house in great location. We really enjoyed the house. Some missing switch plates and peeling deck were amiss but overall lovely setting and so great to hear the river all the time. Great family trip.
The perfect spot to fly fish and hike - basalt is so cute but also it’s just a short drive from Aspen! Will definitely come back.
Stayed for 4 days. Everything was awesome. Check in and out couldn’t have been easier. Right near a sick pool/waterfall/seam for fishing. Like the entire frying pan road.. the few public spots are usually slammed with people. So nice to be able to see this spot from the deck. Thanks for everything
Lovely spacious home. Has everything you need! A few quirks and to-do list items around the house but nothing major.
We really enjoyed the scenery lodging up Frying Pan rd. The house is conveniently 5 mins from the town of Basalt. You also have access to ski resorts via public transit. John was a phenomenal host, we knew it from the moment we entered and there was a stoked fire ready to light. I would highly suggest booking!!!!
House was great, enjoyed seeing wildlife around the house and the putting practice carpet was fun too.
We had a group of 8 guys coming up from Denver for a weekend ski trip. The place was clean and had everything we needed. John was very accommodating throughout our stay. The cabin is 30 minutes from the Aspen ski resorts and only about 15 minutes down the road from Basalt. Would highly recommend this place!
The house and location was excellent. Beautiful scenery from all sides. We really enjoyed the close proximity to Snow Mass and Aspen. Mr. John was a great host. He made sure the check in / check out process was accommodating and check in with us periodically to make sure we had a flawless stay.
Overall a nice and unique location. Home could use a few small fix ups and general maintenance.
John is an honest and accommodating host. The house is spacious and comfortable. The beds are cozy and clean. The location is top notch and perfect for our stay. The house was cool during the summer stay which is not always the case. Large fridge, good kitchen. The house is clean but is well worn. This was not an issue for us. It is not decorated like a five star hotel and is obviously well lived in. But we’re fishermen so tying flies, sleeping and eating was our main house activities. I would definitely stay there again… in fact I plan to do so.
The home was spacious, clean and well maintained. There were beautiful views all around the area as well as being right across the street from the Frying Pan River. Would highly recommend for anyone travelling to Basalt, CO!
Very nice property but big difference between upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms and downstairs. Very small bathroom downstairs with only one towel rack. Bedrooms downstairs had no window shades and no overhead light in one. Many windows were stuck and couldn't be opened. It really is a nice place but could use some improvements to make it great for large parties.
We came to John’s place because it was a perfect spot to call home for a family wedding nearby. It was just absolutely amazing. John is a wonderful host and very nice. The cabin is enormous and quite the property. Since I planned the visit, I got big appreciation from my family for finding such a great place. Thanks John
