We stayed 4 nights. First I’ll share the positives. First staff was quick to help with any issues. The location was close to perfect. It is walking distance to several restaurants, a little mini mart and the fishing pier. A short drive to anything else. The 2 beds were memory foam which hurt my back, but others loved them. I can’t do memory foam. The pull out sofas were spring only. If we ever must use them again we will bring a topper. They had floats, beach chairs and a few beach toys to use, but we burnt use them. It was roomy and comfy. It had the basics. Stove, fridge and microwave, but no icemaker. They have a few small ice trays so you could bring your own and keep up with ice. Now the negative. Each trash can only had the bag that was in it. No extra. Absolutely no shampoo or soap or an thing like that. Not even the hotel size. So be sure to bring yours. They started us out with a tiny bit of toilet paper and one extra roll. The cheap small rolls and between 4 girls that didn’t last long. Thankfully we thought of that. Same downstairs. Pillows are very old and flat and bedding is very old and worn out. But they were cleaned at least they looked like it. Bring your own blow dryer. Bring about anything you might need. Overall we enjoyed our stay. It is a quaint old house very simply decorated with old furniture that didn’t bother us. The downstairs did smell very musty but I was only down there twice. You have to use the outside stairs to get up and down.
The property has not been updated in some time and is not cleaned thoroughly. There is an ant problem, no dishwasher and a 15 year old mr coffee. Great location but I will not be going back.
My family enjoyed our stay. The house was just what we needed for our time at Kure beach, great proximity to the beach in a quiet neighborhood.
Molding was falling down, when I took the sheet off the sheet on the twin bed upstairs it looked like someone had thrown up on it and they just put a sheet over it. There was no bedding for the sleeper sofa, so I had to go buy sheets and pillows for it. The air vents all had mold, that caused my daughter and I to have migraines. There were little ants in the kitchen , living room and bathroom. If you sat on the couch watching TV the ants would start biting you. We all ended up with a lot of bites. When you enter the door upstairs the floor feels like it’s getting ready to fall in. Definitely not a satisfied customer. I did love the location of the property but that’s about it.
Easy walk to the ocean with all the children and great space for all of us to relax. The downstairs separate living was a pleasant surprise. We would have liked a dishwasher though. Still we would definitely rent this house again.
We had two families. Four adults and four kids. We were able to spread out just fine. The two living areas were wonderful.
This is a great place to stay if your in Kure beach
Everything was as advertised. Perfect for our stay.
This house was in a really good spot. We could walk to the beach, the pier and a store in minutes. It was clean and comfortable.
The location was great (easy walk to the beach and a few spots, ocean view). Upon arrival there were about 5 dead cockroaches on the floor, an overbearing smell of glad plug-ins, and a little dusty. Luckily the weather was great so we opened all the windows to air it out and left them open for all of our stay. This is probably an off-season problem due to less traffic through the property. While the set up was just what we desired on of the twin bed mattresses felt like a box spring (the guest moved to the couch early in the evening due to discomfort). We did reach out to the property manager through the website but never heard back. After further investigation after our first night stay we realized it was a budget mattress the was made upside-down. Once we flipped it the guest had a better night's rest. The other beds were just ok in terms of comfort. The pillows were worn/flat/not much to them thus I would bring your own. Kitchen is limited stock with basics. There is not a dishwasher so some of the items needed a quick wash before use. limited counter space. If you desire to do a lot of cooking while on vacations this may not be your spot. The bath towels were nice. The hot water and water pressure was good for those with thick long hair. Check-out was burdened by a request to wash and put bath towels in the dryer prior to departure ($50 fee if it is not completed). The normal cycle is 45 minutes and the short cycle is 27 minutes. This limits early morning trips to the beach and last minute showers prior to departure. The pictures are accurate regarding layout.
