Wake up in the heart of wine country when you stay at this one-bedroom Fredericksburg suite, a beautiful Texas Hill Country retreat that offers dog-friendly accommodations, a private wood-burning fireplace, and a wonderful location on the Highway 290 Wine Trail.

Beautifully situated just six milesoutside of historic downtown Fredericksburg, this traditional stone suite is part of the Historic Rocky Cottage, a charming five-suite property that is ideal for wine enthusiasts. These elegant private suites can either be rented together, for as many as 12 people, or individually by couples and solo travelers. This listing includes the Champagne Suite, located in a gorgeous historic log building facing the shared courtyard.

Whether you're planning a romantic weekend or a group getaway with friends, you'll find Six Shooter Cellars (closed Tuesday and Wednesday) right next door, Alexander Vineyards and Rancho Ponte Vineyards less than one mile away, and Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site only 13 miles away.

The interior living space is full of rustic atmosphere, but offers plenty of luxurious modern convenience. Take a seat and admire the vaulted ceilings and exposed wood beams, bring a book along to read in the comfortable rocking chair, or enjoy the warmth of the stone fireplace on the soft leather sofa.

Spend a day exploring the serene landscapes of Enchanted Rock State Natural Area just 23 miles north, and return home to browse the WiFi or relax with your loved one in front of the flatscreen TV.

Enjoy freshly brewed coffee in your suite each morning, but please be advised that there is no kitchen. Yet you'll hardly notice its absence as you enjoy meals at Vaudeville, the Cabernet Grill, Otto's, and other wonderful restaurants in and around Fredericksburg.

Just beyond your front door, you'll have use of a lovely shaded courtyard with mature trees and a spa-like waterfall fountain.
At night, the Champagne Suite can accommodate as many as two guests in its one-bedroom, one-bathroom space. The bedroom features rustic wood paneled walls and a king-size bed with a floral coverlet. The spacious full bathroom has a large vanity and a stall shower. Feel free to bring your dog for a small, nightly pet fee (please note a 30 lb weight limit).

With tasting rooms directly on-site, it can be easy to forget about the many Texas Hill Country beauties that await just beyond the property. There are dozens of wineries and tasting rooms in Gillespie County alone, including the renowned Grape Creek Vineyards and 4.0 Cellars just four miles away.

History lovers will also delight in a visit to downtown Fredericksburg, where you'll find more than 80 sites of interest in the historic district alone, as well as a fantastic seasonal farmers market in Marktplatz Kinderhalle.

Leave your worries and cares behind you - let this Fredericksburg retreat give you the restful vacation you've been waiting for!

The suite is very conveniently located around 3 wine-tasting properties. Downtown Fredericksburg is only 10 minutes away with a lot of great dining and shopping options. The suite itself has a rustic vibe and the accommodations are fairly comfortable.

I booked this room for the price and proximity to town. It has rustic charm. I loved the cabin feel and the photos of the decore and spaces is accurate. With that being said, our original check-in instructions were inaccurate. Our GPS told us we were in the correct place, but the winery (Fiesta Winery) was not there. Also, there should have been more detailed info on how to find the suite as the bldg is in a cluster of several small wineries and there is a foyer to walk into before you get to your door. We arrived at dark around 5:30 or 6:00 pm and there is no-one on site. We messaged the host which is some type of property mgr that has likely never been or seen the actual property. The entry is confusing. There are 2 ways to get in. A keypad with a 10 digit code (which did not work for us) and an old combo lockbox with a key inside. Luckily the host gave us the backup 4 digit combination and it worked so we used a physical door key. The backup code should have been included in the check-in instructions. The unit was clean, but it didnt smel clean. It smelled damp and musty and old. I feel like they need some damp-rid to take the musty moisture from the wood. Also, the bathroom smelled old. The toilet is extremely loose and likely the smell is coming from the unsealed toilet. The whole place could benefit from some deep cleaning and Febreeze and damp-rid. The bed was a hard as a rock but linens were nice.

The address was inaccurate. The address was downtown Fredericksburg at a winery, and the bartenders said it wasn’t the first time renters went to them. They ended up giving us an idea where the correct address was. Finally when we arrived we had trouble with the key pad. When putting in the numbers we had to do it 5-7 times before the door would unlock. The bathroom floors could’ve used a good scrubbing and there were a pair of black socks under the bed (not ours). On the upside the cabin was cute and the bed was very comfortable. And like clock work at 4:30 each morning we were awakened by the wrenching smell of a skunk. Not sure if we would return to this rental.

Good stay, cabin is just a bit dark and it would be nice if there was a ceiling fan in the bedroom. We did lock ourselves out but had prompt response when we called to get into the lock box. Rustic cabin but comfortable.

We really enjoyed our stay here, the cabin was very clean and comfortable. We had a slight issue with the mini fridge not working but I notified Vacasa and the owner was quick to get in touch and have the issue resolved. It was so convenient having on-site wineries, we would definitely stay here again!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay in the cabin. You really can’t beat the location, with multiple wineries on-site and the brewery and other wineries all within a short distance. Downtown Fredericksburg is just a short ten minute drive away. I would recommend to others and would go back if a few things were fixed, mainly the bed—it was very uncomfortable. Otherwise we enjoyed our getaway!

…and we loved it! We love having our own private space on property of wineries outside the front door. We have recommended this place to friends and family! It’s a great price to be on wine Highway and minutes drive from great vineyards. We love it!

Need to not call it bed and breakfast because there is no breakfast. The TV remote didn't have batteries. Once I spoke to someone, it was the wrong remote and right one was provided. I did like that it was per friendly. It was cold on Saturday and heater ran loud the entire night, but at least it worked. Extra blanket should be provided, it would have been useful on Saturday.

We liked that we seemed to have the whole place for ourselves. It needs to be dusted better. The first night it was very quiet and we loved it. The second night there was a concert on the property behind the cabin, but luckily the noise ended before midnight.
