Love Shack in Sherman

We had mostly everything we needed. Clean and comfortable. Super close to university to participate in weekend activities and then a super short drive. It will help if you have some toiletries and extra things (toilet paper, salt, butter) even if it is for an extra charge, so you don’t have to go out again. Other than that it was perfect. Thank you for allowing us stay there.

This rental is located next door to an abandoned house. We were not expecting that. LOTS of critters. The carport/porch light does not work. So if you are trying to enter the house after dark it is pitch black and you can’t see anything. There is a bullet hole in the front window DIRECTLY in front of where I was sitting on the couch, where my head was. It goes all the way through both panes of glass. Insane. It is not a BB gun hole or a rock. It’s clearly a bullet hole. The back yard looks nothing like the pictures (see pics). The trees are all overgrown over the fence and there is a massive nest of branches that hang over the fence. We tried to hang out in the back yard one evening and saw 3 rats and a possum so we went inside immediately. There is a major wasp nest issues around the house so be careful if you’re allergic! There are 2 huge nests in the bedroom window (see pic) and they also hang around the carport area. The last thing that made us a little uncomfortable is that we found an extra house key in the back yard on the ground. Doesn’t feel very secure when you find house keys laying around… The house was clean when we arrived, grateful for that. And the rest of the pictures (besides the back yard) are accurate of the inside. Would not return or recommend, mainly due to the bullet hole in the living room in front of the couch.

My boyfriend and I (both AC alumni) drove up from Houston to see our friends walk the stage. This house was absolutely perfect for 2 people (and very close to campus)! Very clean, easy check-in procedure, and timely responses from the owner when I had questions about the property. Will definitely keep the Love Shack in mind for our next trip to Sherman!

Central location with sweet decor. I plan on booking one of the alternate host properties should I get an opportunity to return to Sherman.
