Loose Moose Lodge: Hot Tub, 4-Season Retreat Near Gore Mountain & Schroon Beach

The house was wonderful and cozy and the host was very responsive and helpful. We brought our whole family of eleven plus our dog and everyone had ample space. We plan to stay here again next winter !

Every year we all get together for a family weekend visit in Schroon Lake. This is the second time we have stayed at this property. It is perfect for our fairly large group, and has plenty of space for all of us. The teenagers love the hot tub and also love the pool table and Pac-Man! The family room/dining/kitchen is large enough for everyone to hang out, and the south facing deck is a great spot for hanging out in the sun. We love that it is close to town and the lake, but it is also in the woods and very secluded - you can't even see a neighbor. Hopefully we will stay here again next year! The host was very accommodating and got back to me quickly when I had a small problem with the dishwasher. Great place!

We loved our stay at The Loose Moose! It was absolutely perfect for our multi family getaway. The hosts were amazing, super communicative and accommodating. We would absolutely stay there again!

This rating should go to ELEVEN! The house has everything you need for an amazing time in the Adirondacks. After a day hiking we enjoyed the full moon and stars around the fire pit, then jumped in the hot tub. No one turned on a TV all weekend (even though there's one in every room if you're tempted). Everything you need to throw a gourmet meal together, or grab a juicy burger in downtown Schroon 5 minutes away. Host Mary Jane was a great resource and knows the area and the cool local places. Best VRBO we've ever rented, excellent on every level.

Great location. Close to the lake but far enough away from crowds and noise. We spent most of our time hiking and exploring the Adirondack area. The hot tub was a nice way to cap off a day of hiking. We made great use of the outdoor grill and relaxed around the fire pit after. I highly recommend a vacation in Lake Schroon!

House had plenty of room for multiple families, layout was great. House had everything we needed. Good location secluded for privacy. Could have used a better cleaning and expired food items discarded. Overall would stay again

Every year we visit Schroon Lake in October to gather with several of my family members. This house is a great location, close to town, and nicely secluded with lots of trees. It has a large open floor plan, good sized kitchen, and wrap around deck so everyone can spread out. The hot tub was great to relax in, and the fire pit had plenty of chairs for everyone to sit around the fire and make smores! Firewood was provided which was really great. The kids loved the game room. Mattresses and bedding were very comfortable. The carpet on the stairs didn't look freshly cleaned, so I gave cleanliness a 4, but overall this is a really great house!

This house is PERFECT for a large family vacation! We had seven adults and two dogs and there was plenty of space, every amenity you could ask for, location was perfect, private yet not far from the town. We cannot express what a wonderful vacation we all had together at this house. We are already discussing renting again next year! Thank you for your perfect home!

The loose moose lodge was the ideal location for our family getaway! With 7 adults and 5 kids, there was plenty of room for everyone. The location couldn’t have been better with less than a 5 minute drive from Schroon village and the public beach and within 30 minutes to many other local amenities, including Lake George. The host was very responsive and a pleasure to communicate with. Highly recommend!

Loose Moose Lodge was in the middle of a power outage that lasted an additional 36 hours after our arrival. Mary Jane had contacted us about the situation before our arrival. Lanterns were easily accessed. The cleaning crew did an exemplary job, making beds and preparing the facility with no electricity. We were a party of 13 ranging in age from 4 years to 70+. . The many bedrooms suited our family perfectly! The woods provide privacy, yet we’re close to Schroon Lake’s excellent swimming beach and shopping area. Seagle Music Festival is just a few miles up Charley Hill Rd where you can enjoy musicals and opera productions. The information book at the lodge helped us find activités such as Lumberjack mini-golf. We also went on several hikes. The hot tub, old fashioned video games, ping-pong, pool table, corn hole, badminton, darts, board games and the fire circle were enjoyed by all. Beds were comfortable; toiletries and towels for showers and the beach were plentiful. There’s also a large washer and dryer! Our whole family thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

If you're looking for a place that is secluded but also close to a quaint town that has everything, this is the place for you. We stayed with six people, but the house could have easily fit double that it was the best place for a relaxing get away. Highlights for us were the quiet surroundings, the game room for the kids, the hot tub for mom, the hike down the road to Horseshoe Pond (where we found an actual horseshoe!) and the 3 minute drive into town to use the beach, go to restaurants, the food store, and even catch a movie in the old movie theater. Truly awesome place!
