Property is very neat, well kept, and has an awesome view!
My husband and I stayed for a long weekend. The place was quant and had everything we needed for our stay. We did some bobber fishing off the dock and caught many fish. The water near the dock is very shallow right now, maybe 1-2’, which our dog loved and waded around out there for an hour at a time. The fire pit is in the perfect spot to enjoy the lake view in the evenings. Also, the 3 season porch is amazing. Would definitely stay again. Lastly, I’d recommend bringing drinking water as you can see and taste the high iron level in the water.
We really enjoyed our stay at CJ's cabin. Everything was clean and in good condition, well-stocked. Really appreciated the kayaks, row boat, and paddle board for use. Had a couple questions for CJ before we got there that he answered quickly, and he texted to check in with us the day of our arrival which was really nice. There were some dvds and games. We were able to login to our netflix account to watch a movie one night. Missed seeing the floaties in the closet until we were cleaning up to go. The smores stuff on the table was a nice touch! The cabin is on a bay so it is quiet but easily accessible to the larger parts of the lake. Loved the treeline between the properties for privacy. Easily accessible to Hayward and Stone Lake if you need to pick items up or want to go shopping or out to eat. I would stay again.
We first got to cabin. Neighbor came over said septic was going off. Called said they would send out. It was Saturday. Monday light went off. Cabin clean nice place. WiFi which was pretty much non existent until later at night. If you are going to work you can’t. Pretty much if TV on later don’t use phone it goes off.
Everything was great- the cabin was well equipped with everything you would need! Fun little smore supplies were left for us as a welcome gift. We enjoyed the use of the kayaks in the quiet little cove. It was also close to Stone Lake and Hayward-lots of antique stores, great restaurants and winery nearby. Would love to come back soon.
Great location and cabin ideally suited to kayaking and fishing.
The cottage was very nice, and CJ, the property manager was great. We had some minor problems he corrected right away. My only low was the boat issue. The cottage was advertised with a fishing boat. The boat was not licensed, so I could not put a motor on it. I have done this every season, and this is the first time I have seen this. The boat was also on shore, turned over in the weeds. We are both 70, and moving the boat would have been difficult. At least if the boat was in the water, we could have rowed into the bay. Fishing was a big part of our vacation, and we could only fish off the dock. Very frustrating.
My wife and I (and our dog) thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay! It rained a fair amount, but one of the highlights of the trip turned out to be playing cards/games in the beautiful screened in porch while listening to the rain and enjoying views of the lake. When it wasn't raining, we grilled, had bonfires and just relaxed and it was perfect. If there was a tiny pontoon or motor boat to explore the lake we would've already booked our next trip, not to say we won't!
Amazing location, beautiful part of the lake, pristine lake with sandy bottom. So happy they allowed our two little dogs, we never travel without them. The wildlife was amazing and we were able to catch some rare sights thanks to the furnished kayaks. Before booking we were concerned reading a few posts about close neighbors, but it wasn’t even slightly an issue, the heavily wooded areas between houses make it very private.
We really needed a place where we could just relax and sit on a screened porch with a beautiful lake view. This cabin worked out perfectly for the two of us. The cabin isnt large but the open layout made it feel spacioius and it was very clean and comfortable for just hanging out. The owner CJ was very responsive to our text communications which we appreciated. There are neighbors fairly close but the woods made the cabin feel pretty isolated. The neighbors who were there were very quiet and friendly when we did see them, which wasnt often. The lake was calm and we fished off our kayaks and off the dock and caught some bass and Northern in very little time. Kayaking the lake was pleasant. There are lots of hiking/CAMBRA mountain biking trails within 20-30 minutes that were beautiful hikes through the Northwoods. We did the CAMBRA Hatchery Creek Trail and the southern part of the longer Makwa Trail and would recommend both as intermediate hiking trails. A day trip to Copper Falls State park was well worth the drive…it is always beautiful there! Overall our stay was just what we wanted, other than some thunderstorms that came near the end of the trip. Those just gave us some time to kick back and read. We will defintely come back to enjoy this property and the area!
We were very comfortable in this little cabin. Very clean and everything worked well. We loved the quiet little bay where it is located and the lake was super clean. The town of Stonelake is great, we really enjoyed the whistle punk for coffee and craft beer. And we enjoyed bingo at the red school house.
The cabin was ok, owner had WAY too many scented air freshners in the cabin, got almost sick from the smell. We did not have a toaster until owner brought one. The TV / netflix (internet?)not good. The pier was very wobbly and felt unsafe for an older person who 's balance may be not so great We used the row boat, but spent 2 hours fixing rusted screws before using. This cabin is small and would not rent it for more than four people. The bay is nice. None of the neighbors were using their homes while we were there. If they would have been, it would not have seemed like the vacation we wanted north woods style.
Clean an nicely stocked cabin little ways from main road but in a quiet bay area of lake nice walk from cabin to lake. Hayward is short scenic drive for shopping or dining out. Little confused about boat at cabin not being registered but had brought our own. Would recommend a stay at this lovely cabin.
