This loft boasts exposed brick walls, structural steel beams, and concrete floors and countertops. The Baltic-birch custom cabinetry frames the modern kitchen, containing the soft-spoken beauty of stainless Bosch appliances. The 20-foot tall ceilings are accented with exposed aluminum spiral ductwork hung with leather strapping as a backdrop to a ceiling created of both exposed corrugated steel and clear-finished tongue & groove boards.     We wanted something different than our typical VRBO in the woods. The space is beautifully designed and from the photos has a fun vibe. Even though there's a lockbox, we had to go to a different location to meet the owner where he asked for a copy of my drivers license and a credit card for damages. I objected to the CC and he let that go. The location is in an industrial neighborhood next to a not great neighborhood, but it did seem safe. The first run-roh was the burned out lights. There are tons of small lights that if they worked would be very dramatic. There were 14 burned out light bulbs. So what was already a dimly lit space became very Dracula like. Couldn't see to shave or put on make up in the bathrooms. One bathroom sink didn't drain at all. Beds and linens and high traffic counters were clean and nice. Everything else was dusty, the floor was filthy which was hard to see since it was concrete, but cleaning up a spill with a towel showed the floor was filthy. There were three mismatched drinking glasses. THREE, that was it. Two mismatched wine glasses. Two matching shot glasses. That's it. Couple of small coffee cups. All of which is absolutely ridiculous. Kitchen garbage can was tiny, with no replacement bags. We alerted the owner of these issues within an hour of arrival, his previous prompt responses turned into the cone of silence and we didn't hear from him for 3 days. We left a day early and paid for an unused night it was so un-fun.
