Stayed Jul 18, 2024The property is everything we were looking for in location, amenities, escape from the southwest desert heat where we live, and the host. Dave was very helpful, communicative and responsive to our questions. The San Clemente neighborhood is tightly packed with coastal land at a premium. This property is unique in its extra measure of privacy with no neighbor on one side while foliage provides privacy from the property on the other side. A great view of the ocean about a mile away was something we never tired of. The backyard was perfect for our dog as was the small park across the street. The mid-July to late-August weather during our stay was so pleasant and allowed us to eat most of our meals outside in the well-furnished and well-equipped backyard. The kitchen is equally well equipped with everything we needed (except a cocktail shaker) and, with its center island, a pleasure to work in. The spacious master bedroom with its dual sinks, separate cabinets, and center makeup desk was also very convenient and comfortable. The location is excellent with most everything we needed within a 2-mile drive. The San Clemente pier and Dana Wharf are great attractions with the beach, restaurants and sport fishing, along with shopping and restaurants downtown. The neighborhood is quiet, the people nice and, overall, just a pleasant vibe. Our adult children visited for four nights and really enjoyed the house and location. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property.

Stayed Jan 26, 2024We stayed in this home for 6 weeks this January-March 2024. It is located in the hills, about a mile from the ocean. It has a great view, fenced backyard and as other reviewers have mentioned it is very private. Only one neighbor with a thick hedge between the lots. It was very clean upon arrival and David the host is very responsive and helpful. The down side is it is a 40 year old home that appears to be mostly original. The appliances are older and some of the furniture (the TV room especially - where we had a tendency to hang out in the evening) is shot. I think it’s time for an update. For a shorter stay these issues might not have mattered as much. The location worked out very well for us. We lived in the area for many years and appreciated the easy access to the San Clemente pier and beach walk and Dana Point Harbor. San Clemente has been known to have an abundance of coyotes living in their many canyons and that has not changed. I only mention this if you travel with a dog. There are packs of them that showed up in the small park across the street at dusk, in the canyon below the house and we had one in the backyard one morning. Our dog ran it off but a smaller dog might be in trouble.

Stayed Sep 23, 2023David’s home is by far the most comfortable and beautiful VRBO we have ever stayed in! It is extremely spacious and has absolutely gorgeous ocean views in the backyard. It was amazing to experience the sunrise and sunset from the backyard deck and the master suite balcony. The home is stocked with everything you need and then some. We loved utilizing the cozy fireplaces at night, in the living room and master bedroom. The neighborhood is quiet and neighbors are very kind. We also enjoyed getting to know the city during our stay. There are endless dining options available within a close distance. David is an awesome communicator and made our stay flawless from check in to check out. We are so thankful to have come across this listing and highly recommend David’s VRBO to anyone looking for a place to stay in the San Clemente area. We will definitely be booking again next time we need accommodations in that area.

Stayed Oct 30, 2019My husband and I have stayed at a lot of Airbnb/VRBO properties over the last several years and David's was the best overall, no comparison. The neighborhood is quiet yet friendly with a great grassy area on the other side of the street from the house. The backyard is big and completely fenced in so it was perfect for our dog. And the view of the ocean was amazing! We sat outside on the deck all the time. The master bedroom is large with a comfortable bed and has a nice en-suite bathroom. The kitchen was stocked for cooking with pots, pans, and even a crock-pot. David was available right away via phone or text. We kept extending our stay over and over because we enjoyed our time at David's so much.

Stayed Sep 23, 2018First of all the owner, David, was very accommodating to our needs. His home perfectly suited our needs and we were very impressed by the spacious kitchen and the beautiful view from the patio. The dinning area was comfortable and easily accommodated 8 people. Location is great for all activities. We totally enjoyed this beautiful home and would not hesitate to book it again for future family events. Thank you David for sharing your home. Tom and Lois

Stayed Aug 3, 2018This home was awesome, had a great view and everything was clean and nicely organized. Home comes with things you’ll need at the beach that save us a lot of money. Only thing I would say it needs would be a hammock to fall asleep on the beautiful patio :)
