Relaxing Quiet Fun Exciting
We were there for 3 nights for a girls weekend. The house was clean inside - but rocking chairs and outside windows were very dirty - I had to clean the chairs off before I could sit on them. (Would recommend they be sprayed down frequently!) I would describe the house as shabby country. I would warn people that the long driveway is pea gravel - and it gets in your car - and you have to carry your luggage (no dragging) - would recommend some stepping stones as it was raining and the ramp area had a puddle, and you had to go thru the grass to get to the front steps . The kitchen was well appointed with a lot of mis-matched dishes - but happy to see lots of wine glasses! The one master bedroom and ensuite is downstairs. Mattress was not comfortable. And we found a small, live scorpion in the bathroom. (it went under the door crack and we were unable to remove it.) Scorpions were only mentioned when we received the information a few days before our stay there. The upstairs is treacherous as the steps are extremely steep and not very wide - I had to walk sideways up and down. Upstairs bedroom had an ensuite and standard bed. They converted what looked to be a den into a 3rd bedroom with 2 twin beds. The beds were uncomfortable - I had to double mattress for comfort. There is no door to that room - only a folding divider screen. We did have good tv reception - though we were warned we may not. We enjoyed the front porch (once we cleaned the rocking chairs) and observed deer and birds. The drive is about 6 miles from Fredericksburg and it is out in the country - but we enjoyed our stay there. Although we likely would not choose to stay there again - would like more comfortable beds and closer to town.
We had a great stay at this house fir a girls weekend. It was close to downtown Fredericksburg but far enough out to enjoy the country air and wildlife
Our favorite thing about this property was the lovely porch with rocking chairs looking out over a large lawn. We liked the barbecue grill and even playing horseshoes! We were about 6 miles from town, so it was very peaceful. As described in the listing, the internet service is spotty at best. The stairs to the upstairs bedrooms are pretty steep, and if you are tall, you need to watch out that you don't bump your head. The rooms are large, and we enjoyed the comfy sofas. We would like to return for another visit some day.
We loved the location of property. Shower in downstairs bedroom had mildew but otherwise was clean and roomy. The group wished there had been more towels and washcloths available for the amount of women staying there. Overall we had a great time and enjoyed ourselves. We would definitely stay again.
The front porch view was amazing! Master bedroom was to die for and my friend who slept there called it “cozy”. Easy drive to Main Street. I’d like to mention that when the air conditioner kicked on it was fairly loud and the steps leading upstairs are fairly steep, if you have someone with mobility issues, it could be a concern...there are hand rails all the way up to assist. Would stay again if the air conditioner sound was addressed.
Very peaceful and nice location. Just a few minutes from the city. We absolutely loved it!! Only things to say. Mattresses are uncomfortable and stairs are very steep. But honestly, those are not enough to outweigh the good. We absolutely enjoyed it SO MUCH!!
Great property at a reasonable price
The house is perfect! The manager was easily available to us. House was clean all was comfy. I would suggest maybe putting some sort of cleaning supplies it would have been nice to wipe the counters down after cooking. But other than that we had an amazing time and enjoyed our stay. Will definitely stay again!!
My girlfriends and I could not have asked for a better place to get together, celebrate some birthdays, visit a few local wineries and just relax and enjoy each others company. The atmosphere inside and outside this home was perfect! We thoroughly enjoyed rocking on the front porch watching several deer grazing all around. Inside the beds were all very comfy, plenty of clean towels, inviting sofas in living room and the kitchen had everything we needed. Just a short drive out of Fredericksburg ~ we look forward to our next visit!!
