From the moment you walk into Legasea at St. Teresa, you’ll feel the weight of the world lifted off your shoulders. Located far from crowds and commercialization between the small fishing towns of Carrabelle and Panacea, this is a haven to truly get away from it all. Whether upstairs or downstairs, you'll sigh when you open the wide French doors to truly awe-inspiring views. The entire house is decorated with a soothing color palette and charming eclectic style.
This beachfront duplex home is right on the Gulf of Mexico, although on Google Maps it appears farther back away from the water.
It has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and sleeps 7. You can choose to dine at the spacious kitchen counter, at the table by the windows opening to the breeze, or climb the stairs to the upper screen porch to enjoy the spectacular views with your dinner.
You can watch the sun rise from the king sized bed in the master bedroom, which connects to the screen porch and to the master bathroom.
The second upstairs bedroom contains a queen bed and a set of twin bunkbeds. The third bedroom, which contains a queen size bed, is downstairs next to the second bathroom. Beautifully decorated in ocean colors, both bedrooms enjoy gorgeous natural light.
Surrounded by beauty such as this, you’ll want to spend time just sitting and staring and taking it all in. Or lie in the hammock and gaze up at the tall pines as the gentle lap of the waves lulls you into a much-needed nap. Go a few more steps to your own beach deck with chairs and umbrella. Collect shells and explore living sea animals as you stroll the beach from Grassy Point to Stingray Point. Go fishing or cast a net off the dock or scoop up some blue crabs. Use the two kayaks provided to explore the area by water.
If you find you can’t entirely tear yourself away from the TV, the family room provides a Smart TV and DVD player with a variety of family movies. There is an additional TV and DVD player upstairs in the master bedroom. Internet is provided, although it may be slow on the Florida Panhandle.
St. Teresa is right on the Gulf of Mexico, but is protected by a sandspit which extends from Alligator Point, so the waves are always gentle. This makes it perfect for swimming, fishing, kayaking, and beachcombing. On a natural beach on the “Forgotten Coast” of the Gulf of Mexico far from crowds and commercialization, the area around St. Teresa provides one of the most diverse eco-systems in North America. You may see dolphins, manatees, the exotic local white squirrels, and even the occasional Florida black bear, not to mention every kind of shore bird you can imagine.
Legasea is located within the Bay North gated community of St. Teresa, which contains its own swimming pool, tennis courts, and plenty of open space in which the kids can play if they tire of the beach. The children’s laughter as they play outside all day will take you back to when this was “Camp Weed,” a summer church camp.
When you visit Legasea, you’ll know that you’re in a truly unique place, and will understand why St. Teresa has been the most beloved spot in the world for generations of families.

Got the grown kids to show up for mom’s birthday and we had a wonderful week at Legasea. From kayaking to boating nearby to memorable meals at the spacious dining areas, this well-apportioned home proved to be a perfect pick for all of it. Located in a very quiet part of the panhandle, Legasea offered us plenty of movie watching, cooking, game playing, peace and quiet, sleeping, laughing, and sunset enjoyment 31 steps from the back porch door. Had the neighborhood (15 or so homes) to ourselves for most of the week with a little traffic during the weekend. The hosts were on the ball, the place was very clean, and the memories will last a lifetime. We can’t wait to come back! We are frequent home renters and this one stood out as truly being our home away from home. This writer prides himself with not missing one sunset from the back deck the entire week….and has the bug bites to prove it. We never had the chance to use the pool but it is near the home and looked very nice. Bring your bug repellant and for goodness sake, utilize their awesome outdoor shower here! It’s refreshing and awesome!

This house has the real old Floridian feel. You can feel the love put in this home, which makes you feel at home! The kitchen is well equipped. Decor is beautiful! You will love on the porches. Awesome deck by the beach with a nice breeze. They guys loved the community dock for fishing. The owners were very quick to respond to any questions. We are just trying to figure how we can stay for two weeks next time!!

We had a great stay at Legasea! The property was beautiful, right on the beach! I didn’t even have to put shoes on the whole week! The house is fully supplied with everything you would need, and more. Beach chairs, umbrella, blender, coffee pot, hair dryer, ect. Our toddler felt right at home with the toys and beach toys! The area is very quiet, we only saw a handful of people the whole time! The host was very helpful, reaching out to check and see how our stay was going and even let us check in early! 10/10 would recommend this to anyone and hope we can visit again!

It was magical. I grew up on this beach but had not been back in 50 years. It was still so beautiful, so memorable. Legates was unbelievably gorgeous. Everywhere you looked there was something unique - stunning oil paintings, painted furniture, even a “sandalier.” Everything needed was there. It was a truly perfect place to spend Christmas week with friends.

This property is beautiful. It is everything that the host described and more. We had our grandkids ages 17, 14, and 10 with us. They spent hours paddling in kyacks provided by our host we also brought a paddle board. The water is calm which makes it perfect for these activities. We also loved fishing off the community pier at sunset. We definitely will be back.

We enjoyed our stay at Legasea. Although the young grandkids were eager for more people and excitement, it was a perfect spot for those of us just looking to relax.

This property was perfect for our family. My teen has special needs that makes anything with crowds hard for him to handle. It was our first time in Florida for spring break so we were worried about how busy anything on the beach would be. We chose this house based on its proximity to the beach, location and the cleanliness reviews and we were not disappointed! I love how the house was decorated with southern coastal vibes and that it had all the extra items that were included for activities. It was a long drive for us but definitely worth it!

Let me start by saying I have stayed in a lot of vacation rentals, for many years. I like the homey feel over hotels. But most feel “staged”. Not this one. The home is filled with love, history and family. Beautifully decorated, like you would do if it was your home. Once you get past the feel of the home it has everything you need even things like sugar for my tea, coffee pods, nice soaps, tp, pots, pans, kitchen utensils…Everything. All the fun stuff too, kayaks, beach chairs, tons of board games. But even with the weather cooler what we loved the most was listening to the waves crashing on the beach, watching the dolphins every morning, sunsets and star gazing… every night. All of this right from the balcony’s (screened porches) and the beach deck chairs. The neighborhood has tennis courts, pool and a fishing pier. It’s a bit of a drive to get to a major grocery store (20-25 min) and 10-15 min to little stores and restaurants. Fine for us we stocked up on day one and grabbed extras while we were out for touring or dinner. But it’s not a place you can plan to walk up to shop and ice cream. Not what we were looking for,so again, great for us. The owners messaged to us know they were available if we needed them but didn’t bug us. We went on a great fishing trip with captain Dustin Fyshhunter Charters. Booked thru fishingbooker. The gulf specimen aquarium is well worth the $15 to get in. We Love everything about it and have already recommended Legasea to friends!
