Le Royal - Les Demoiselles à Versailles

Easy walk from train, quiet neighborhood . Kitchen was nice -but bathroom had mildew/mold on wall as did all the window frames. Couch was an uncomfortable futon, toilet seat was wobbly, and didn’t fit right. No shower soap- bottles were empty. Communication from Host was lacking.checkin was not smooth. On day 2, We were locked out because the code was changed and we weren’t notified- frustrating as it was cold and snowy! Ok for 2 people- would be tight for any more.

Great little apartment in the heart of Versailles. Had everything we needed as a family of 4. The neighbourhood was very safe, clean and quiet at night. At least when we were there in August anyway. The building was also quiet at night and we slept very well. We also parked in the street in front of the building and had no issues. Breakfast of freshly baked croissants in the morning while sitting by the large French windows looking at the dome on Cathedral St. Louis was perfect. The only complaint is the stairwell leading up to the apartment. The stairs are very uneven, and the stairwell is not lit at night. This could be a safety concern that you should be aware of.

Great home base for car trips

Fabulous location, so easy to access everything. The apartment itself was wonderfully comfortable and spacious.

Close to the train station for trips to Paris, and to the palace and park.

Cute little apartment close to everything. Three flights of stairs. Quiet apartment, has all the necessity and a grocery store just out the front door!

This is a lovely flat in a great location that is quiet despite being very central. While small, the flat is well organised and the host was helpful and accommodated our early arrival. Five people would be too many for the space but the sofa bed is very comfortable. It is worth being aware that the bathroom is ensuite to - and only accessible via - the main bedroom, and the stairs to the flat are quite steep. We had a lovely stay and would return.

I have to give a low rating because the customer service was terrible and frustrating. When I initially booked my stay months in advanced I asked the host, Katia, if I could get an early check in or at least drop of my luggage as I would be arriving from the US at 10:30am. I got the ok for and early check in which I was very appreciative about. A week before my stay I confirmed again about the early check in and again I was reassured that would be gone. Well, come the day of the arrival I was given the run around by Katia. Initially she didn’t respond to my messages, then said someone was arriving between 12:30 and 1:30pm to meet me to let me into the VRBO, then that person was in traffic but in the way. Then at 12:15pm ( after 45 mins of waiting) a random person said that no one could let me in until 3:30pm. I was very frustrated and exhausted at this point. I located another hotel across the street and they were kind enough to store my luggage for a fee. I then walked the Versailles Palace and did a self guided tour. I arrive back at the door for the VRBO at 3:25pm and by 3:40pm no one is there. I call Katia several times and she says Mari/Martin/Michelle (the name of the person meeting me kept changing) is usually very prompt. By 4 no one has arrived. I call again, Katia doesn’t answer my calls. By 4:10pm a man named Martin arrives and I’m finally lead to the room. By 4:15pm I was in, not 12:30pm like what was promised. So, I can’t say much about my stay. It was tarnished.

Vintage French apartment with winding stairs and tall windows. A coffee shop is to the right, a market is to the left and the area if flooded with restaurants and bakeries. Great local, very nice unit. Wake to church bells every morning. A short walk to the train station and off you go to any location in the region.

This was a perfect place for our family of 5! Comfortable beds for everyone, and great location - very quick walk to the palace, groceries, restaurants, and the train station to get into Paris. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend!
