We were very happy with our stay at this home. Our family was there for a NMSU graduation. It was not hard to get to the campus from this location. We all enjoyed the open floor plan, big kitchen, and dining table when getting together. The beds were comfortable and the house very clean. It also has a garage where you can park a car. We would stay here again.
The house is nice and was clean and ready when we arrived. The owner contacted us to be sure everything was good. She lives next door and she even brought us over some local treats. We would stay here again. We were in the area to explore this part of New Mexico. This house was a great base to explore from.
We stayed here as remote-working snowbirds in February. Our host was very welcoming and gracious, quickly answering any questions and addressing any needs that we had. Upon arrival, we found the electric fireplace was lit, and snacks of local foods were on the counter --- nice touches. The home was clean and tastefully decorated. We loved the splash of color from several yellow flower sprays; they added a lot of brightness and cheer. The skylights in the kitchen and bathrooms were a plus, as well as having large SW-facing windows. Even on rainy days usually didn’t need to turn on any lights in the daytime. The internet was generally adequate for our work and streaming needs (including teleconferencing). Mattresses were excellent, with plenty of sheets, pillows, and blankets. There was a lot of closet and cabinet space throughout the home. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware, glasses and plates of all types (from paper and plastic to wine glasses!), and an assortment of condiments and spices, utensils, soaps, sponges, and bags. There even was wood for the outdoor firepit. The house was very spacious, and the ceiling beams were charming. You can hear them creaking round the clock as the outdoor and indoor temperature swings. The house is in a quiet, safe area. As weather permitted, we ate meals outdoors in both the front covered porch and the back patio, watching the birds. Overnight, we even heard a coyote howling once. The area is inviting for daily exercise walks, typically across the highway to a nearby pecan grove (although the grove’s owners requested we stay on the gravel or dirt roads). There's a neighborhood roadrunner, cat, and horse, and lots of dogs, mostly fenced. Sometimes they get out and follow you for a bit, while barking and usually wanting to play. Overall, it is a wonderful home, and we'd certainly stay here again!
We can not say enough about this location. The owner built passive solar/rammed earth house is spectacular. An outstanding of SW architecture and adobe construction. The craftsmanship is amazing from the home itself to the finely constructed cabinets and doors. The host is great, very friendly and easy to work with. The home is very clean and comfortable with everything you need for a simple night to an extended stay. Will definitly book this again if we get back this way.
