Gloucester, Massachusetts
This 950 square foot duplex one bedroom home is deceiving from the outside, once an old store in Lanesville Village now a village home overlooking the Cove. inside it is well appointed remodeled home featuring a large loft master bedroom upstairs and more sleeping and living on the ground floor. Air conditioning throughout~ though with the cove breezes it is unlikely you will need it. There is a large separate eat in kitchen with all the appliances, and almost everything else you may need downstairs.-BYOL (bring your own lobsters). Included are more conveniences, in the kitchen spices, and basic pantry items, in the bath- hair dryer,, towels and linens, a washer and dryer,. Our home features comfortable seating, games, books and more! Close to everything, yet a real vacation spot.
Walk a couple doors down to the package/general store for marinated meats and some wine, settle in on the deck to enjoy the famous sunset over Lanes Cove. Wake up and start at the Plum Cove cafe for coffee on your way to Plum Cove beach, never crowded! Great for families and sea glass hunting! Like a more rugged hike explore the wooded quarries of the Greenbelt - great on a hot day. Lots more a short drive away, like Rockport and Bearskin Neck, large beaches like Good Harbor, Wingarsheek, Cranes and more. Many people come to relax but if you want to visit Rockport, Salem or Boston they are easy to jump to- catch the train for a day jaunt to Salem or Bostona couple miles away (three stations to choose from), Rockport is just a mile up the road as you pass by Lobster Cove.We will consider your dog, but require a special dog security deposit. Dedicated parking for one car and street parking is always available.

Beautiful spot and very accommodating hosts! I’d go back anytime!
We found this to be a perfectly charming place to spend the month of August in Cape Ann. The location was perfect with views of Lanes Cove from the back patio and just a short walk from the Package Store, which had all the essentials, and the Cove Cafe that was the local favorite spot for coffee, breakfast sandwiches, tempting pastries and more. Can’t imagine more responsive and thoughtful hosts…when we encountered an internet issue they did everything possible to resolve it quickly. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back.
Cute/cozy 1 bedroom with kitchen and living room. Has a deck with ocean views and washer and dryer. You can walk to Plum Cove Beach as well. Handy small village liquor/grocery shop, post office, and cute cafe with great food and desserts. Beautiful sunsets! Just a short drive from rte 128, downtown Gloucester and Rockport. Owner was wonderful! We loved it here for a month long stay.
Lovely spot. Conveniently located and couldn’t ask for a more helpful host! Would definitely recommend!
Alix was a wonderful host- went well above and beyond any expectations. Highly recommend.
This open-space apartment in the Lanesville area of Gloucester is super comfortable, with tons of light and all the conveniences. First off: It is CLEAN. Lots of nice touches — there were fresh flowers! Upstairs is a comfy queen bed with a quiet reading area and view of Lane's Cove. The main level is actually so spacious that it's up to you how to use it all: a couple of sofas over by the large smart TV, another by the widows is a great reading area, and various tables/chairs. Large, modern kitchen is fully equipped: the essentials, plus all sorts of little gadgets and even a Cuisinart in case you forgot yours. First-floor bathroom has a nice glass sink/mirror set-up; shower and water pressure both good, but an FYI: no tub. The back door heads out to a spacious, furnished deck with views. You can park on the street in front but the definite better option is the area available on the side street (the unit is on a corner). Speaking of the street: steps away are a package/grocery store and a café/lunch joint. Owners Alix and John could not have been nicer and more responsive. You'll think that you're communicating with friends who are letting you use their home. Quick replies. Clarity with door codes and wifi. John stopped by to ensure all was well and gave some great tips as to great Italian bakery, local restaurants + nearby things to do. Location! A short walk away is Lane's Cove. John mentioned that NatGeo ranks it as a top spot for sunset viewing. I agree. Stunning. The whole shape of the Cove is great for exploring. About an 1/8 mile down the road is Plum Cove which you could consider as your own little beach. All other beaches (my favorite was Wingaersheek), the touristy zone of Rockport, Main Street Gloucester, and all restaurants are about a 12-15 minute drive away max. Overall: Great comfort, friendliness, and location for exploring Cape Ann.
This is a special part of the world! Really liked the neighborhood. Bed is comfy and blow up mattress is fine. LR nicely arranged with light to read and relax. Great communication and enjoyed briefly meeting Alex who was there to welcome us. That little extra was especially helpful! Would recommend and stay again. Don’t miss sunset!
This is our second stay with Alix and John, and it won't be our last. They are extremely welcoming and friendly hosts. The property is clean and stocked with all the essentials...dishes, linens, pots/pans, coffee maker, washer/dryer, wifi, condiments, spices, wine opener & glasses, etc. The bedroom is spacious, the bed is comfortable. And our doggies loved it too! Thanks again to Alix and John!
couldn't be better. Next to a package store, and a daily sunset show that can't be beat!
Property was exactly as described. Alix and John were great hosts. Best stocked kitchen we’ve ever encountered. The area was just what we wanted and they directed us to the best local places to eat.Topping everything off, we found a tremendous amount of beach glass right in the harbor down the hill. We highly recommend this property!
