Large, dog-friendly lakefront home with private pool & hot tub, central AC & W/D

All we can say is WOW! This house was truly amazing. The pictures that you see on the listing do not quite do the house justice. From the 10 foot sliding doors that lookout to the lake, the warm and spacious living room that is so inviting for families to hang out in, to the wonderfully designed back patio that was perfect to hang out on during a perfect fall weekend. Everything about this house was a 10/10 and could not have been. better. Highly highly recommend to any group that is looking to spend time on the shores of Lake Michigan!

This house has the most incredible view. The fact that it has a pool and a hot tub and amazing views of Lake Michigan are what made us rent it. And it really was worth it just for that. The kitchen and the great room are amazing, but the rest of the house is very odd. Several of the bedrooms had air conditioning units in them because I guess the central air didn’t reach those bedrooms? It just felt very weird that part of the house was centrally air-conditioned and other parts were not. It almost felt like we were staying in a mountain cabin sometimes. The house is not very well-maintained. There were cushions held together by safety pins and more than half of the tiles in the pool had fallen off. The hot water worked in some parts of the house, but not others. They have an extra ice machine, which is awesome, but only works sporadically. Also the Wi-Fi was terrible until we figured out there was a second secret network that they told us we were not allowed to access. But we did some investigating and figured out how to access it and then we did have sufficient Wi-Fi throughout the property. Vacasa was very responsive the few times we called them….. but we got tired of calling them so we stopped and just lived with certain problems. Given what we paid for this place I would’ve expected the property to be better maintained. As I started off saying the view alone was worth it, but we weren’t prepared for the rustic nature of the electricity and plumbing throughout the house and the crumbling pool. It was both great and disappointing at the same time. I doubt we would stay here again.

Everything we needed was in this home. All cooking equipment. Plenty of cups, plates, silverware. Our entire group loved this house!

This house was gorgeous. Well appointed and spacious - it fit our needs perfectly. We were here for a girls getaway weekend and the living space inside was ideal for a group of our size (14 of us!). The kitchen was outfit with everything we needed and the island, dining tables (inside and out) and couches accommodated the size of our group and allowed both time and space for us to relax, talk, dine and play. In addition, the outside spaces were just as lovely as the inside. The private beach, the multiple decks, the large heated pool, the hot tub and the outdoor toys were well used and appreciated. And, the views of the lake were spectacular. Finally, when we arrived, the house was very clean and even though it allows dogs, there was no sign of animals anywhere. The management company was very responsive to any inquiry or request we made. The only suggestion for improvement we had was that one of the rooms that was in the virtual tour was locked off as an owners room. We had actually planned for that room in our accounting for our guests and were surprised when it wasn’t available. We still had enough beds for our guests, but I would suggest that you take that room down from the tour so that people don’t expect use of it. Otherwise, we couldn’t have asked for more and had an extremely nice stay. We would definitely rent this home again and we were very pleased with the service levels from Vacasa. I will echo most of the experience that Tina had on Apr 28th. So we rented this home for a family get together to celebrate mothers day. From day 1 Vacasa, who manages this house was so impersonal and not accommodating at all. Every request was returned with a standard business letter about welcoming us to the stay and such and rarely addressed our specific questions. We had some issues with what was told was going to be at the house and it wasn'. Was put on hold and dropped the call twice on me. No idea what state the person I was talking to was even in. The people that they did send were very nice and took care of that issue. As far as the house itself it is a great lay out and location. Unfortunately the owners have left it to be managed by this poor company that has not attention to detail when it comes to a house rented for this price. When we walked in the floors still had dirt on them in numerous places, most rugs in the house had obvious stains and looked old. The bathtub on the entrance level floor was disgusting and dirty no one could consider taking a bath in that one. There was black hairs all over house in almost every bed room. The dining room table was all sticky and was not cleaned. The other bathrooms were not as dirty as that tub, but were not cleaned adequately The hot tub was still not adequately cleaned. There were no chairs around the fire pit as advertised when we got there and no wood for the outdoor fire pit as advertised. They did come to take the chairs our of storage and gave us 1 bundle of wood, which we obviously had to go buy more. The garbage can next to the fire pit what full of empty beer bottles and garbage as well. There was also a JULE smoking device in one of the bedroom drawers when we checked in. I alerted Vacasa of this and they told me they would send a report to lost and found. WHAT?? My point in calling is that they don't allow smoking in the house and didn't want to be charged for them thinking we did when it was left by someone else. But again this is the type of company your dealing with. Unfortunately unlike Tina above we had all come out of town so were going to make the best of it. I feel bad for the owners of this house as it is a beautiful house, but is not treated that way by Vacasa. I have rented many places from VRBO and prefer them over the rest. Have never had a bad experience with VRBO., Will never rent from a place Vacasa runs again.

I rented this home for my birthday and thought it would be a place that I would have no issues and it would look exactly like the photos in the rental listing. For an expensive amount a night I was beyond disappointed with the dirt throughout the whole interior of the property. From the unbelievable number of dirty fingerprints on the doors, light switches and kitchen cabinets. The base boards, trim, and railings in the house were all full of dust and dirt. The utensil drawers in the kitchen were full of dirt and strings of hair. The couch and area rugs had stains on it. I could go on and on and on. The hot tub was advertised as working and it was dirty and not functional with no water. I contacted the management company Vacasa to make the situation right and they had two of their cleaning people come out to clean what they thought was enough which they didn't even touch the surface of all the dust and dirt. I didn't want this to ruin my birthday but of course it did and caused a major inconvenience. I decided to leave the following day because I was appalled by how this was handled by the management company Vacasa. One of their admins came out to inspect the place while I was there and could not believe what she was seeing with her own eyes. The cobwebs everywhere and the dirty floors. For such a beautiful home on the water it is a shame that it was so dirty and not sanitized. I will never rent a home that is managed or hosted by Vacasa. I spent days and hours fighting the charges and if I did not take photos and video of the conditions I would not have gotten only their fees back and one night of my stay as a refund. My trip was ruined due to the conditions of this home and how the management company handled it all. I was told over and over how they dropped the ball and how apologetic they were. Thanks but no thanks - you ruined my trip!!! I even reached out to the CEO of Vacasa via LinkedIn. I didn't hear back from him which was very disappointing. If this hope doesn't have a deep cleaning it should not be on any site for rent. I am highly disappointed that I did not receive more than just one night of my stay and some cleaning fees. I'm hoping that the owners of this property were notified of the situation, and they will hire another company to manage them.
