This was our 2nd time at this property and we could not be more pleased. Hoping to return next year!!!
Becky and Jim's Angel Fire Chalet is tucked back in the pines, backing up to national forest/private ranch. When you need to slow down from life in the city, this home has everything you need! Their home is super cozy with all the comforts of home - we had such a wonderful stay, we extended it! Relax on one of the decks with your coffee and watch the wildlife wake up, or see beautiful sunsets while grilling. They have thought of everything - plenty of soap, detergents, trash bags, toilet paper - you name it, they supply it! Plus the location is great - near the Vietnam Memorial, with easy access to Angel Fire, Eagle's Nest, Red River and Taos. Thank you, Becky and Jim, for a wonderful getaway to the cool mountain air!
Wonderful home and spacious close to everything. We spent 5 days there and made a lot of memories. We will stay here again next year.
We loved our stayed at Becky and Jim’s warm and wonderful home. The location was perfect, the cabin spacious and the hosts are amazingly thoughtful and welcoming. We’ll definitely come again!
5 stars!! Jim and Becky were great to work with and the home was the perfect for our stay!!
House was perfect for what we needed! Owners were the best we’ve ever dealt with! Secluded and quiet! Thanks!!
Beautiful setting, large bedrooms, high speed internet. Owners were wonderful and easy to communicate with. Fully intend to stay here again!!!
This is a cozy and well established home tucked into the pines in the hills above Angel Fire. The cabin is on a dirt road and the road is bit rutted but definitely does not require 4-wheel drive at least in the summer months. We drove a full size SUV without 4WD and had no problems. We had guests that drove in with a Honda Civic without issue. Once off the main roads and highways in this area, very few roads are paved, expect just dirt and gravel. I am sure people do without it, but I personally would want 4-wheel drive in the winter months. We explored some of the mountain roads in the area and that is an adventure in it's self! Clearly, the owners, Becky and Jim, have taken a lot of time and effort to make the cabin homey and easy going. We spent three weeks in July here and it was the perfect escape from the TX summer heat. Keep in mind Angel Fire has an elevation of 8400-ish feet. If you are coming from considerable lower elevations, take it easy for the first day or so and allow yourself to acclimate! The days never got above 80 degrees and the nights were in the high 40’s. Ideal sleeping weather and the beds are comfortable! Most afternoons brought a thunderstorm typical for mountain areas, some were really rocking and others just a small rumble. Reading a book on the porch and listening to the rain was awesome! There was a tons of wildlife and one can expect to see mule deer, elk, turkey, and bear passing through and behind the property. Don’t miss the rainbows that follow thunderstorms! The TV’s and internet work just fine if one needs or wants them! We like to cook, dining out rarely and the kitchen was well equipped. Between Angel Fire proper, the resort, and Eagles Nest down the road, there is a variety of restaurants. They have been challenged with staffing like so many other businesses so be patient and understanding. There is a small grocery store in Angel Fire that has great produce and all the core stuff needed. Taos has a Walmart and Albertsons with a wider variety if needed. Eagles Nest, Red River and Taos are all easy to get to and are loaded with interesting sites and people. Jim and Becky are conscientious, concerned, communicative and responsive; wonderful to work with! They provided a comfy, large home at a very reasonable price!
