Location was awesome, house provided what we needed for the most part. We thought from pics that there were 2 twins in one bedroom but it is a small double. We are aware it's a lake house and don't expect perfection but there was debris/trash on the patio that was disappointing. I know we payed for location but I would think these details would have been addressed before our arrival.
Beware that if you rent this property thru VRBO, it does not let you know that there is no air conditioning. When I called the office, they assured me it was in bold that there was no air conditioning. It is on the Taylor Made site however not on VRBO. Quite honestly I would not have booked had I known there was no air conditioning. There were also many other issues that should have been reported prior to our arrival but apparently were not to were not taken care of. The biggest issues were that the shower in the main bedroom, 2nd floor, was leaking and water was coming down from the light in the 1st floor entry way. Maintenance was very considerate and came out quickly however we were told it was not a quick fix so don't use that shower. Also in the main bathroom, the large whirlpool tub had standing water in it and there was a sign that the whirlpools were not working. I'm not using a tub that has standing water in it. So for nine people, we were then down to two showers all week. The other shower on the second floor had an issue with the drain, you had to manually hold it open with your toe while showering. In the first floor bathroom, the main handle would fall out unless handled very carefully. The whirlpools in the hot tub did not work. There were several other minor issues that we reported before checking out. When we called the office we just got the company line which was disappointing. When I called to check out, the person hung up on me before I could ask who I needed to speak to about all these issues. It would seem to me we should get some compensation for all these issues given the amount it was to rent the house. However, given how we were treated I felt it was useless to try. The property itself outside was quite nice and there were several things available for use such as a kayak/oars and the fire pit with chairs was nice. Taylor Made needs to ensure that all these issues are resolved and make sure VRBO indicates NO AIR CONDITIONING. The girl I spoke with was adamant that it was there however I just checked and it still is NOT. Our stay was June 25 to July 2. I hope to see a review from whoever rented after that time.
We booked this cabin for a weekend getaway with friends and it could not have been more perfect! The location and size of the cabin was incredible. Would definitely come back!
This place is in a great location. Plus the property has a dock, multiple fire pits, a hot tub and a zip line. So much to do just staying in.
I booked Lakeside Vista for a mid-October weekend with two male friends and one adult son. This was our second fall at Deep Creek Lake and first stay at this rental. The property was ideally located for fishing and very close to everything. We especially enjoyed the fire pit and pool table! The description and photographs were accurate and did not disappoint. The house was clean and well stocked for a guys’ weekend. My only advice to future renters would be to approach Old Chestnut Drive slowly, as it is a somewhat hidden drive in a wooded area. The folks at Taylor-Made were a pleasure to work with and answered all of my questions promptly. I would highly recommend this property and the team at Taylor-Made for your next Deep Creek vacation!
Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We go to Deep Creek every Labor Day Weekend so we know the area pretty well and the deal with rental properties. This particular property (Lakeside Vista) had a mud problem at the main entryway - really a runoff issue in that instead of storm water washing away from the property, it angled toward the property. Deep Creek had just been hit with a solid storm, so the exterior of the entry was muddy and quite slippery. Not a huge deal but something to consider if booking this property. Parking is a pain at this property, with odd angles on entry and driveways on top of each other, but you can fit 4 cars so we took the good with the bad. The interior is definitely in need of an update. The jets on the tub in the master bath don't work. Again, no big deal. The yard sort of angles inward on itself from either side so neighbors are pretty close - much closer toward the lake. Not something you can tell from the online photos - we were not happy about this. College kids drinking in the yard next to us the whole weekend with a megaphone to tell people to drink were a little annoying, but they were respectful and kept things to a dull roar outside of the megaphone. Meh, kids will be kids. The exterior of the house really needs to be cleaned as there are cobwebs EVERYWHERE. The back patio is amazing! It's made of large river rocks and, because the yard widens the closer to the house you get, it is still fairly private from neighbors. We spent a lot of time there and at the dock (which is the oldest of all the neighbors). Overall, we had a fantastic weekend, even given these minor hiccups. The weather turned out great and the houses layout worked well for us - the kitchen and dining room were directly off of the patio, allowing for a nice flow. Probably wouldn't stay at this property again, but if you're on a budget and there aren't many properties available, don't be afraid to book this one.
