Stayed Apr 16, 2018I have stayed in villas in Florida for the last 20 years with my family ( 2 sons as well as my husband). Staying on many different estates over the years we eventually found Watersong and found this suited our requirements. We have stayed at least 7 times and find the area quiet, accessible and safe. This is the first time I have written a review.... This villa this time was disappointing. I was staying with my husband and 1 son in this 5 bed home for relaxation around the pool whilst my son and husband played golf locally. The Tv in the main lounge had to be reset almost daily. Main bedroom bedding was dirty- a positive smell of urine on the bedclothes prompted me to move to another room. I noted that we were asked to remove the sheets on leaving to be washed but not the matching spread and pillows( makes me wonder how often these are washed!). The bed was uncomfortable and didn’t seem to fit the base .The shower off the main bedroom had dirty tiles which was off putting whilst showering. The bedside clock was broken. Outside , we had just 2 sunlounges ( 1 ripped),that the 3 adults had to share( considering this is a family home for 10 people this was inadequate ), we did ask about this but we’re told that the owners only wanted 2 beds! The pool area needed a good cleaning. I understand weather can cause this quickly but the pool guy came once and whilst understandably he didn’t want to disturb us , the area around the pool needed a good hosing down and the tiles around the inside of the pool needed a brush as well. He told us the hose was leaking and needed replacing and so just checked the chemical levels and cleaned the filters. Towels provided seem minimal in number . Other rental villas have an abundance, including beach towels for outside which were not provided here. Again , whilst we managed a larger party would have difficulties. On the plus side I was told that the pool table was excellent albeit they had to share 1 cue between them. Several ceiling bulbs had blown and had not been checked (the lamps had). We reported a few rooms but found other rooms in darkness as the days went on. It seems that with only a little more expense to replace bed spreads and provide more towels etc alongside better cleaning regimes both inside and outside , this home could be improved to 4 star. Until then sorry but we won’t be returning.
