Lakefront Lake House Retreat

This house was perfect for our thanksgiving family get-together for 4 adults and 3 teenagers. The beds were comfortable and the view of the lake from the downstairs and upstairs was amazing. Communication with Chuck was very good, he responded to our questions promptly and really made us feel welcome. Thank you for everything Chuck. We hope to reserve this house again next year.

Nice home. Had a great stay and it was exactly what we were looking for. Would love to stay here again.

Relaxing quiet neighborhood.

House was very clean and beautiful location. The bedrooms were large with comfortable beds in all the rooms. The kitchen was very nicely equipped. We had a glitch with the VRBO app which delayed our access to the property, but was able to get it cleared up quickly so we only lost 10-15 minutes. The host also checked in to make sure our stay was going well and offered to provide any tips on the local area. The checkout process was simple and in light of the app issues, the host copied me separate of the app.

House was nice, host was very helpful, we absolutely enjoyed our time there.

Great upfront communication when an issue came up at the house prior to checkin. Happy with accommodations overall.

Easy access from Bear Valley Rd. Groceries available nearby and plenty restaurants to choose from. House has 1 bedroom downstairs with a full bathroom. There's an master upstairs with full bath and 2 rooms with bunk beds in each and a full bath they share. There's a boat dock in the back with a ladder if you want to jump in the lake. It's about an hour drive up to Big Bear of you want to jump in that lake. Lucern Valley is a quick drive away where you can see tons of stars. Vandenberg rocket launches are viewable and the trajectory puts it over the mountains and easily viewable. Swimming and hiking in Deep Creek (Pacific Crest Trail) is a whole 20 minutes away. Mojave Narrows Park and Jess Ranch is next door with fishing available. Property owner is responsive and easy to communicate with. There's a beach on the lake but we didn't have time to check that out. Liquor store and gas available at the beach area.

The house is beautiful; however, there is a major ant problem especially in the kitchen which did not allow us to cook or utilize the kitchen. We couldn’t kill the ants fast enough. Then there were roaches and spiders throughout the house. Also, due to no blinds on the balcony doors upstairs, the room was extremely hot. This house could be a wonderful place to stay, but I suggest an exterminator on a regular basis and blinds on the doors in the master bedroom. The communication with the host was excellent.
