Had a great week of fishing, boating, wine and beer tastings. Loved the Alpaca farm and Sleeping Bear dunes.
This property worked perfectly for 7 adults. The home was clean, and very nice. The host was very helpful and had many suggestions for the area. Everyone loved the lake, the kayaks, and especially the hammocks. Easy access to nearby towns, restaurants and grocery. Would stay here again!
This home is beautiful and very well stocked. The large deck was wonderful for family meals and lounging. We rented a pontoon boat and enjoyed being out on the water. The kitchen was so well stocked, and we made many meals in. The location was good for biking, long walks, and trips to other Northern Michigan spots like Old Mission Peninsula, and Leelanau Peninsula. Communication with the owner was excellent. We really enjoyed our stay in this home.
Wonderful house with everything you need, including a well stocked kitchen, nice decks, hammocks, kayaks, dock, and fire pit. Green Lake is beautiful, perfect for kayaking and exploring. Hiking and biking trails close by. The location feels like you are in the middle of nowhere, but everything we wanted/needed was close. Host was easy to work with and gave excellent recommendations. Would definitely stay there again.
My family of 4 came to Mike's house from California -- we picked up our teenage daughter from Interlochen arts camp (which is just minutes away) and stayed for a week. It was divine! My husband loved the kayaks and took one our every day, my daughter and I loved the stand up paddle boards we rented from Alvina's (per Mike's suggestions - they were wonderful), and my son loved the paddle boat. We had daily fun on the lake as a family and it was beautiful! The house was as clean as any vrbo property I've ever rented, the location on the lake with its own beach on quiet and peaceful Green Lake could not be more perfect, the house was spacious and cozy, the kitchen well stocked, plenty of towels, big tvs for family movie nights, lawn games (we were new to lawn darts but loved them) - I can't really think of a criticism. There's a lot to do nearby - we went to the Northwestern Michigan Fair, did an escape room when it rained - and we kept meaning to head in to traverse city - but we never did because we so enjoyed spending time on the lake, making s'mores, reading in the hammocks, etc. Mike was incredibly easy to communicate with - gave us tons of suggestions and was available for questions, too. If my daughter goes back to Interlochen, we will book Mike's house again without question.
Enjoyed our stay immensely. There was so much for the kids to do, the property was well kept and spotless. The home was stocked with all the necessities except food of course. The deck was a wonderful gathering spot with some part it in shade all day. Don’t remember even seeing a mosquito. There were hammocks hung between trees, a swing set, kayaks, a fire pit by the water stocked with wood, and even a paddle boat which hadn’t been mentioned in the literature. My son brought his boat and the lake was perfect for tubing. It was a very peaceful spot with only one of two other water vehicles spotted the whole time we were there. Highly recommend.
Our family had a terrific time! The property was perfect for our family. The home was clean and spacious and we enjoyed the large yard for games. The 2 hammocks were a favorite spot too! The small beach and shallow water was ideal for our 3 yr. old granddaughter. We all enjoyed the kayaks and the large deck where we ate dinner, played games and enjoyed each other's company. The host was incredibly responsive to emails and questions, provided a great deal of information regarding the area and provided many suggestions for eating out, activities and places to visit. Would highly recommend this listing!
Great place tor kids and adults. Lots of things for all ages to use such as hammocks, swing set, paddle boat, kayaks, and fire pit by the water, even had a corn hole set! Lovely deck shaded most of day with lots of seating and a grill. Can’t recommend it enough.
We stayed here because we needed 4 separate bedrooms and it had that, although one bedroom had no window. The place delivered on a comfortable lake house back in the woods. The house would have been good at a lower price point. For the premium price we paid, we expected more amenities, and the year+ out-of-date coffee was a turn- off and indicative of uneven attention to detail.
This was our first time to this part of Michigan, and we had such a nice time! Even though the weather wasn’t great for several days of the trip, the house and property made up for it. It was quiet and peaceful, but also had several options for entertainment for the whole family. If you’re looking for an escape in a beautiful setting, this is a great pick!
