Base Camp D was once again the perfect gathering place for our family Thanksgiving celebration. The kids took over the basement (and hot tub) while the adults visited upstairs. Sitting on the porch next to the heater was perfect for reading, meditating, and intimate conversations. Our only glitch was the breaker throwing twice but maintenance came right away. Wonderful place!
This property was as advertised! Spacious, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. My friends and the dogs had a wonderful weekend.
We love how secluded this house is. It was decorated beautifully inside. The kitchen big and had everything we needed. We spent the majority of our time on the screened in porch in the evening and at the dock during the day. Another plus is having use of the canoe and paddle boat. My sons rented a boat for three days and the pier accommodated the 15 person pontoon boat perfectly. The downstairs was like another having another house! The only reason we gave four stars instead of five stars is because you do have a view of the power plant. But, if you turn the chairs a little you have a fantastic view of the lake, too. This house is so dog friendly. It has dog bowls and even doggie doors to the deck and porch. We plan on returning next year.
This house was really nice. It was peaceful and had the best view. The basement playroom and hang out areas were great for all the teens. We loved using the canoe and paddle boat. We did only have one issue on the first day- the outlets downstairs didn’t work, and since we couldn’t get in garage we had to have the rental company come out and trip the breaker, which they did the next day. Definitely will stay here again.
Well appointed lake house, inside and out. Loved starting the morning with coffee from the iconic mugs on the deck or in the sunroom. Plenty of room for everyone including dogs to hang out, play or take naps. Spent most of our time on the dock, paddle boarding, canoeing or fishing. Grilled every night ending the day with ice cream and games. Plan to come back again!
Great location! Stylish, comfortable & made for fun in the sun. A private dock for swimming, kayaking or docking the boat. Comfortable beds & multiple living areas. The deck and covered porch allowed us to hang at the house when the kids were napping -- but the wide water view meant we never missed out. There were lots of little touches that made us feel at home, from dog bowls, to coffee pods, to extra dishwasher pods. This home was the perfect location for a great family weekend.
The place was great! Kitchen and bathrooms all seem recently upgraded. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking needs. Bedrooms were all very comfortable and outdoor area was great!
This home had everything we needed, and extras we didn't expect! Loved the coffee station, wide variety of kitchen tools, spacious hot tub, comfortable beds and seating. The dog treats and bowls were a great added touch!
This is a fantastic property. Newly updated house at a great location. We had a couple minor issues and the management company was very responsive, including sending out a crew to address a small maintenance issue that I was almost reluctant to even mention. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend to anyone.
Completely updated home! High end appliances and an awesome lower level game room! Private secluded lot for an enjoyable lakefront experience! We will definitely be back!
The house seemed nice until it rained - the lower level basement toilet water started coming up into the bathtub when the toilet was flushed. At the same time dirty water flooded the utility closets and came out under the steps leading to the upper level. The entire lower floor smelled terrible and everyone (11 guests) were left with one bathroom. This happened on the day before checkout. We reported the issue and were told by the local realtor that they would let us know when help was on the way. We never heard back. I tried contacting them for the last few days to work things out and again - again no response. Other than a lack of communication when you need it most, the house is relatively nice. The location is nice. You can hear the power plant across the lake hum at night, one bedroom upstairs has only a cot for a bed, some bedrooms do not have mirrors, all the dishes are plastic and there are no small plates. The lake is very close to the house and the kitchen is pretty. That said, I wouldn't advise anyone to stay here because if something goes wrong there is no help.
This place has breathtaking views of the lake while also having privacy. The house is amazing with a screened in porch to watch the sunrise or sunset. It has a huge yard, deck with lounge area & a large dock. The house was clean, well kept & furnished beautifully. Looking forward to staying again!
Overall a great house that was fully updated not too long ago and beautiful decor. Plenty of space for our 2 families and small dog. Most beds were comfortable but like another reviewer mentioned one bedroom upstairs near fireplace was a cot and was pretty uncomfortable. We loved the screened in porch as it was the perfect view of the lake without the annoyance of bugs. The dock was great—we used the canoe and paddle boat that was provided and did some fishing. We did rent jet skis and boats. This house was pretty far from LKA jet ski place and at different ends of the cove restaurant that’s accessible on water so something to consider. Hot tub was huge, new and clean. I recommend bringing extra TP, trash bags and paper towels as well as spices as their supply was very limited. Only complaints I have were: 1. the pathway to dock is broken and my mother in law actually fell and hurt herself, owners should look into fixing that. 2. The management company was pretty unresponsive with questions I had prior and during our stay.
This property worked well for our large family to get together for a long weekend. There was plenty of space and lots of activities inside and out. We all really enjoyed the use of the paddle boat and canoe. The screened in back deck is perfect for relaxing and enjoying a morning cup of coffee. Loved this place and we will stay here again!
We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at this property. They had everything we needed and then some. It was super comfortable and fit 12 people without feeling too crowded. The hot tub and paddle boat were nice extras that got a ton of use. We would definitely stay here again!
The house is great, right on the water with lots of fun stuff. HOWEVER, the customer service was terrible. We did not have TV or internet THE ENTIRE STAY. We had 7 children with us with no access to internet or tv. I called to get it fixed and was promised someone would come out (over text). No one did. Then the next day a customer service rep TEXTED me at 9:15pm to do the exact same thing as the rep did the day before (unplug and restart router - did not work just like the other day) and promised again someone would come out the following day. (no one did.) She also told me it wasn't her fault that she was contacting me so late because she got to work at 3pm. Again, no one came. Finally on day 5 someone came at 9pm at night (he was very nice) but again could not fix the problem. Said someone would come the next morning (literally our last full day) and no one showed. Half our party had to leave early because of the lack of internet. To say this was disappointing is an understatement. Contacted management on the 15th and someone called me back. She listened to our complaints and said she would escalate and call me back. She never did. Gave two stars ONLY because of the house. We will not be staying here again even though the house was great.
The owners of this house have done a great job with making sure you and your dogs feel at home. In addition to a great coffee bar area with the cutest coffee mugs, they also had dog treats and toys available as well ad dog doors (we have since bought one for our own house since our dog loved using it). All of the furniture and appliances were new and in great shape and the house was beautifully decorated. Most of the beds were extremely comfortable, but there was one that seemed like more of a cot and wasn't quite as welcoming. The basement has way more space than the photos show and the hot tub was the biggest one I have ever seen. We spent most of our time on the screened porch where we enjoyed a beautiful view of the lake. The dock isn't anything special, but it was functional it we enjoyed using the canoe and paddleboat in the very quiet cove. We have stayed at a lot of houses at Lake Anna and this one is by far our favorite so far. We are already talking about booking it for a full week next summer.
