VRBO'S RECENT CHANGES NOW REQUIRE THIS CUMBERSOME EXPERIENCE
We simply need to learn about your gathering to ensure our home will meet your needs.

Please ignore Vrbo'slanguage about no refunds... their system won't remove it. The rental agreement we both will sign will be in force and includes our standard cancellation policy, which we provide upon request -- and always before a payment is submitted.

A word about our Rates.  Vrbo's format of their Rates section makes it impractical to list every possible rate combination. The rates that Vrbo automatically provides are sometimes incorrect.   We provide exact quotes in our responses. Pricing for the Pontoon Boating Pkg is provided when we respond to inquiries.  An administrative fee of 3% applies to Vrbo reservations as well as the State of Michigan 6% Use Tax.

From June through late August we are only able to accept 7-night, Saturday to Saturday reservations.

If you need a little more sleeping capaciy, we have 2 new upscale short term rental apartments just a mile away that are priced very competitively. The Duet has 2-BRs, 2-BAs (Vrbo #4663879 - $145/night+6% tax+$45 cleaning fee + Vrbo fee) and The Trio has 3-BRs, 2-BAs (Vrbo #4663698 - $195/night + 6% tax + $45 cleaning fee + Vrbo fee).

Welcome to our 4,100 sq ft Cedar Lodge on Stone Lake !

The Cedar Lodge is a spacious, accessible, wheelchair-friendly retreat nestled among mature landscaping in a quiet, serene setting just 35 feet from its sandy, gentle-slope beach on Stone Lake. Situated just two houses from the end of a quiet dead-end lane with only 18 homes, it's part of our private 47-acre heavily wooded nature preserve with trails great for exploring wildlife.

The Cedar Lodge has sleeping capacity for 26 in beds, 30+ using sofas / inflatable mattresses such as an Aerobed.

FEATURES OF THE CEDAR LODGE:

* 4,100 sq ft of finished living space with over 3,000 sq ft of knotty pine tongue and groove planking on the walls and ceilings - giving the house a very warm and inviting lodge feeling.

* Comcast Xfinity's Extreme cable Internet service combined with multiple Access Points that results in strong Wifi signals throughout the house, deck, BBQ grill area and even the firepit.

* 9 BRs and 9 Full BAs. 6 of the BR-BA suites on the ground floor including 4 which are wheelchair friendly -- with sufficient maneuvering room to use a Hoyer Lift in these 4 accessible BAs/ BR suites (we tested one).

*All 9 BRs have Queen beds, with 4 BRs also having Twin Bunkbeds.

* The BAs in the four wheelchair friendly ground floor BR-BA suites each have 3x5 roll-in showers, drop down robust grab bars on both sides of the commode, knee room 36 counter/sink, and generous floor space for expanded maneuvering room. Bonus for parents of toddlers: These large 3x5 roll-in showers make a great spot for Pack-N-Plays at night!

* All 9 Queen beds have high quality mattresses and super comfy memory foam / gel combination 3-inch thick mattress toppers.

* The Kitchen has 2 full size fridges w/ ice-makers and 2 electric stoves for large gatherings, 3rd full size fridge in the Gathering-Game Room.

* The open concept Kitchen-Dining space features a huge custom dining table (may be separated into two tables) with seating for 20. With barstools at the Bar-Buffet Counter and add'l seating in this space, 30 people may be seated at one time for meals.

*An intimate Conversation Nook with comfy seating is adjacent to the open dining & kitchen area.

* At 845 sq ft the 36' x 24' ground floor Gathering-Game Room is generously proportioned and features a 13-foot vaulted ceiling, new slate top pool table, new ping pong table, new foosball table, new 12-foot HD projection TV w/ Definitive Technologies 6-speaker home theatre system with a Yamaha head unit (fills the entire space with distortion-free sound -- even at high volume) , full-size fridge with ice-maker, 7 sofas each over 7-feet long, plus 4 Bistro tables with bar stools.

* The Gathering-Game Room has a custom sound deadening wall to acoustically separate it from the rest of the house. This 9.5in wall has double layers of 5/8-inch drywall glued together with special sound absorbing adhesive between the layers of drywall, mounted on alternating 2x4 studs using 2x6 sill plates, with the wall cavity stuffed with 6in of R-19 fiberglass insulation, w/ both sides of the wall then topped with 3/4 inch solid pine planking.

* The 4 accessible BR-BA suites also feature sound-deadening walls with extra thick 5/8-inch drywall, sound absorbing adhesive, and insulation in the wall cavities -- all under a layer of 3/4-inch knotty pine planking.

* The TV Room on the Walk-Out Level facing Stone Lake measures 12' x 19' with comfy sofa, loveseats and a 50 4K Smart TV.

* The main level Covered Deck measures 670 sq ft & has outstanding views of Stone Lake - just 35 feet away - and features 4 dining tables with 25 comfortable springy padded deck chairs, bar stools, side tables. The 42-foot long deck has privacy walls at each end with see-thru stainless steel cable deck railing facing the lake. The unique deck roof is made of clear GE Lexan material which makes the deck nice and bright - but with all of the surrounding trees has very little direct sunlight so it's not hot in the summer.

* A large playscape for the little ones is set among the shade trees at the west side of the house and features an adjacent private patio with seating so adults may comfortably keep an eye on things.

* A basketball hoop - easily adjustable from 10' down to 7' without tools so also great for the little ones - is right at the driveway.

* 15 bikes - a mix of adult and kid's sizes - for Guests to enjoy on the trails in our private 47 acres of woods and along the quiet streets of the Village of Cassopolis.

* Its own 24-foot Pontoon Boating Pkg (optional), which includes 7 sit-on-top kayaks (5 adult, 2 child), a 6x17' floating Lily Pad, and water toys.

* Boat dock at the beach - with a boardwalk featuring comfortable seating right at the water's edge.

* Concrete driveway parking for 4-6 cars right at the house with an additional gravel parking area across the quiet street for 7-9 more vehicles

* A Geo-Thermal HVAC system (2 units actually) provides heat and central AC to all 4,100 sq ft of living space. Two high-capacity hot water heaters (assisted by the geothermal units) provide a never-ending supply of hot water.

* A Firepit overlooks Stone Lake and has ample seating.

* A sloped hard-surface path from side deck to back yard facing the lake with the firepit...with assistance a wheelchair user may traverse this path.

* 47 Acres of private woods with trails for exploring just across the street (shared with our other 3 vacation lodges) -- along with a 10,000 sq ft playfield.

Many guests enjoy reserving the optional Pontoon Boating Pkg -- it really opens up a whole new world to be able to get out on the lake – and the little ones just love playing 'captain' steering the boat. The 24-foot Pontoon Boat also makes for a great mobile swimming platform, and sunsets are glorious as it's so peaceful to be out in the middle of Stone Lake and just slowly drift and watch the waterfowl, birds, etc. And if anyone likes to fish - that's what Stone Lake is famous for! We include in the rental of the Pontoon Boat a personal orientation session so that the Pontoon can be operated safely and with confidence. Also included is 10 gallons of fuel -- usually enough for a week.

Included with a Pontoon Boating Pkg are five 7 sit-on-top Kayaks (5 adults, 2 child). Also a 6x17' floating Lily Pad - perfect for both play and relaxing on quiet Stone Lake, and 4 Corcles for kids & teens.

For large gatherings that may include Guests with mobility challenges, the size of the Cedar Lodge with its unique features and numerous amenities will make memories to last a lifetime.

Warmly,

Ted, Brenda & Christian
The Gogol Family in Cassopolis, Michigan
Proudly serving our Guests since 2009

Please Note:

The Cedar Lodge has a 51-step staircase with 3 landings (one with a bench) to reach the boat dock and the beach - the lakefront yard is about 25 feet above the dock. For Guests for whom this is a challenge or simply not doable, an easy solution is to drive over to the public boat launch, park, and board the Pontoon Boat right there - zero steps to the boat dock at the public launch. The Stone Lake public boat launch is 2 minutes from the Cedar Lodge.

Our group had a wonderful stay at the Cedar Lodge! We had plenty of space for our group of 20 people, including many areas where we could all gather together. We especially appreciated that each room had its own bathroom. The kitchen had plenty of equipment, and we had enough fridge space for 3 days worth of food and drink for our group. Check-in and check-out were very straightforward, and the hosts were very responsive. Finally, we appreciated that this property was truly handicap accessible, and very family friendly. Highly recommend!

Large, spacious lake house with fun water activities on the private beach. The house comes with everything you need, from kitchenware to a wheelchair for the elderly. Game room was massive and there were multiple seating areas outside so my group of 25 people a few dogs could spread out. Air conditioning system also works really well. Communication with Ted was very thorough. He genuinely wants his guests to enjoy their time at his property. My group looks forward to staying at this property.

Property was just as advertised. We enjoyed the porch and pontoon boat was a plus. The play field was definitely well maintained and a great plus for adult and children. While the lake weeds were a turn off the Lilly pad was a gathering lace. Pet friendly was a big plus. The only criticism is the kitchen is small for 18 adults. Well stocked but just too snug when preparing large dinners.

Overall, the property was lovely! Access to the beach was steeper than we imagined which made it difficult to get my daughter down to the doc and beach, had to use the public beach and doc to get her on the boat. One of the refrigerators does not get cold and the shower in the public bathroom near kitchen did not work.

Our family of 15, which includes 4 generations, had a great time at Cedar Lodge. We used all the boats- the pontoon, kayaks and corcles- every day. There is plenty of seating at tables in the dining room and outside on the covered deck. The game room was the place for indoor activities and we had several popcorn and movie nights. We highly recommend blueberry picking at the Blueberry Ranch. They are delicious and so easy to pick, and everyone loved the pancakes and muffins we made the next morning!

8 college friends and 5 spouses for a 4-day reunion. Plenty of gathering space for visiting, playing and dining with a well-equipped kitchen with enough place settings, glasses and cookware to handle all of us and then some. 4 of 9 full bathrooms to go with the 9 bedrooms are properly equipped to handle folks with mobility challenges. Group already thinking about a return in 2026.

The lodge was amazing, very clean and bright, and set up so well for large groups. Ted and everyone involved were very easy to communicate with. Deck with great fans for air movement, and the grills and fire pit area made for such great gathering places. Also 3 refrigerators--definite plus!

We had 20 people stay for my parents' 60th anniversary celebration. The house was perfect for a large group. The big party/game room was big enough to fit all of us and it was just so nice to have one place where we could all be if we wanted to. We had a great time playing ping pong and foosball as well. The big projector screen was fabulous for showing our video we made! The kitchen is well stocked and having 3 refrigerators was a definite plus! View of the lake was beautiful, even in March, and it was warm enough our first night to sit outside at the huge table on the deck. Ted was responsive to our questions about the grill and then again when the power went out due to a storm. Luckily it was our last night, and we had brought our own candles and so we managed to have fun anyway!

It was a wonderful experience staying at the property which was beautiful and perfect to accommodate our 17 person group. The views of the lake were spectacular and serene. Almost every bedroom had its own attached bathroom which was a luxury I have never experienced while renting a home. The game room was a perfect spot for us to enjoy movies, pool, boardgames, and the company of friends and family. The nature trails were a perfect place to walk our dogs in the morning. I cannot recommend this home enough and look forward to coming back next year!

The team bonding event at the cabin was a perfect mix of relaxation and fun. The cabin itself was clean and comfortable, easily accommodating everyone. A highlight was the leisurely pontoon ride to the Twirl, where we enjoyed some truly delicious ice cream. Later, we gathered around the fire pit, which provided a cozy and inviting atmosphere for everyone to unwind and connect.

What a great place for a vacation. Our group could write a book about the Cedar Lodge and the owners. We've booked places elsewhere but nothing compares to our stay here. The lodge was so clean and there were so many little things that you don't find elsewhere, especially some handicapped friendly features. The owners have put in so much time and effort into the little things that made our stay so amazing. If we had any questions, we were able to text the owner and he would answer within minutes. My granddaughters loved their own little private beach on a beautiful little lake that greeted us off the deck every morning. We have already recommended the Lodges at Stone Lake to other friends and family. We would give them 100 stars if we could. Don't miss out if you are looking for a relaxing vacation on a lake. Owners also offer a pontoon and kayak package. Not a lot to do in the immediate area but there are many places within 30-45 minutes. So glad we found you! Can't wait to return.
