It was a small and relaxing cabin with an excellent view. My only complaints are there is no heat and the cabin got cold at night and there were mice and chipmunks inside the cabin that left droppings on our food and plates.
Perfect place for a couples getaway. Even though the main road is right there, it is quite relaxing. You get a couple of trucks every once in a while but the beauty of the spot overrides that. The house is very clean and well stocked. Comfortable bed and comfortable seating for all. Great lake. Clean for swimming. Great fishing. We were there for a week and my husband, who is an avid fisherman, hooked over 60 fish. His biggest were a couple 2 pound smallmouth and a couple almost 4 pound largemouth. The Vacasa hosts were awesome, communicated well and were very helpful. Highly recommend them and this place.
We loved the beautiful view from the porch and the rustic but charming cabin! We enjoyed all the nature there and swimming in the beautiful lake was so refreshing. The cabin was decorated so cute and we felt right at home. We will treasure the memories from this trip!
This cabin/cottage is everything it's advertised to, it is charming and welcoming the minute you step into it. It is quaint and tastefully decorated, giving you the Adirondack feel. It is well stocked with anything you possibly need. The reason I gave it for stars and not five, is because while it set beautifully on the lake, it is also only approximately 75 feet from the main Rt. 9 the traffic is heavy and noisy all the time. The lake is busy and loud with so many inconsiderate individuals on boats blaring their music, and sounds travel more than you can imagine, especially when the boaters in some cases can be quite obnoxious with their speech. We visit the Adirondacks every year at least once and sometimes two or three times to mountain climb and fish, the reason we chose this place is because it promised a peaceful lake with plenty of loons. I only saw two once and heard one in the far distance once. I came this year for that reason only relaxing in the quiet and listening to the loons, that was very disappointing. As much as we loved and appreciated the accommodation, we will not return to this place. We will look for a quiet lake with loons, and less traffic. ( It's no wonder the loons stay to themselves)
This quaint, cozy cabin offers the very best view of Loon Lake right off the front porch, a private sandy beach, and-yes-we saw loons from the porch every day of our stay. There is a canoe and one kayak on site, but if you're bringing your own boat, be aware you have to have it washed to protect against invasive species if it has been used elsewhere within the previous 3 weeks-no big deal since there is a washing facility at the nearby public launch. Fishing was good for bass, perch and the largest Pumpkinseed sunfish you will ever see. Tubers, waterskiers and other recreational boaters out on hot summer days, but 9pm quiet hour seemed to be universally observed. Well-situated to access nearby Adirondack attractions, but why go anywhere when you're already at a pretty-much perfect spot?
My husband and I took our first vacation post-covid and Sagevick Cabin was the perfect spot for it! Such a perfect view - just what I hoped it would be. It truly looks just like the pictures. I went swimming right off the beach in the back yard, we went kayaking, we saw and heard plenty of loons. The lake was quiet - even when there was boating ‘traffic’. We made a bonfire. The cabin was amazing - comfy beds, comfy couches, clean. Not the musty creaky cabin that I was afraid of - quite the opposite! I’m almost afraid to submit this glowing review for fear that it will not be available next time I want to rent it - and believe me, there will be a next time.
This is an adorable cabin on Loon lake. The bed is very comfortable. A wonderful yard to have a picnic or fire. A small sand beach with easy access for swimming or kayaking. Lots of nearby trails for hiking. Close to Chestertown for shopping and essentials. The only drawback for me was a small kitchen with limited pots and pans, I am one of those crazy people who like cooking even on vacation.
We love it here!

Loved: 1. Water-side front porch. 2. Private small beach and swimming area. 3. Private dock. 4. View of a wider part of the lake. 5. Fire pit. 6. Mosquito net covered picnic table on a platform. 7. Internet that flawlessly handles two simultaneous video calls. 8. Lyn, the local property manager, cares and is helpful. 9. Ten minute drive to grocery store, drug store, and the cute, tiny town of Chestertown. 10. Two full baths. 11. Perfectly comfortable mattress. Note, must be tolerant of spiders, the periodic black ant, and the occasional mouse.
