Lakefront, awesome views, water access, center strip, private, parking.

The host was great. Very quick to reply and even did us a favor and let us in a few hours early since we were already in town! I couldn’t get enough of the views from the main bedroom to the 3 levels of decks! Parking for 4 cars and center strip. The only complaint is that it’s dated, but it didn’t bother us! We had a fire and had a great night stay!

Great location and outdoor waterfront area. Inside is good, could use some updating but all very usable. Fridge was large and newer than pics which was nice.

The location of this house on the strip makes it convenient to walk the strip. The back yard and deck overlooking the lake made for a great place for the family to gather. As other reviews have mentioned, the outside of the house could use a pressure washing to remove spiderwebs. The back garden is overgrown, and could use some attention. The deck is weathered. The burners on the electric stove didn’t fit correctly due to the burner pans being the wrong size. Also, there was almost no available cupboard space since all the cupboards were full. The cottage is older, and has a lot of character. I hope some improvements are planned.

Wonderful view and access to both the lake and the strip :)

We went on a friend's trip and this place worked really well for us! It had all the amenities we needed to make meals and enjoy our time. We loved all the outdoor seating! The views were beautiful! Would definitely return.

Cottage was big and roomy, and the lake views do not disappoint… It is an older cottage, so some of the reviews regarding needing TLC aren’t wrong, however it had all the amenities you may need. Host was very responsive.. We would stay there again… You can’t beat those views and the location!

Spent this past weekend at Geneva with a large group of friends and have nothing but great feedback to share. Terry couldn’t have more kind and his communication from the time we booked to after check out has been amazing. Answered tons of questions prior to arrival and was gracious enough to allow us early check in and later check out. The home was very clean and plenty of room to hang out comfortably inside. Although it’s an older home, it was clean, quaint, and best location. Walking distance to everything! And personal access to the water to catch the sunset and sit and relax. We missed the sunrise due to rain, but again the inside was plenty big for our large group of friends to relax inside as well. Thanks Terry for being such a great host. 5 stars for Terry and his place all the way!

We had a group of 8, and the best time! Terry is a great host. The property has amazing views, super cozy, great location to downtown. We look forward to booking again in the future!

The views of the lake from the deck were beautiful. The living areas were spacious. The host was very friendly and readily available to address any issues. We would definitely stay there again.

Great location but house needs work. The yard is overgrown. The lawn furniture needs to be power washed. It was a little warm upstairs. Needs better ventilation. And you can hear people talking through bathroom vent from family room. The view is great and right on strip. Owner is polite and attentive. The house has potential to be amazing.

Fabulous sunsets

After 35 years of staying at a different location that was bought out, we decided to start looking this year for a new place for our annual family vacation. This was our first year searching and after only 24 hours, we knew it was the place for us! It was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Our previous place had limited amenities and we were overjoyed to see we were provided with everything we needed besides our clothing and toiletries (and groceries). There are ample amounts of fans, window AC units, towels and linens, extra chairs, folding tables, games, plates and utensils and cooking items. 3 days in we experienced a terrible storm and power was knocked out for a few days and Terry was absolutely wonderful with making sure we were taken care of! He drove in early from out of town to give us flash lights, phone back up chargers, and even a generator to help keep our refrigerator going. He often checked in on us and addressed any of our questions or concerns incredibly quick! The best part of the house is the back yard area! The private yard and deck was the best place to have a bon fire, drink coffee by the lake, and lay out and swim! The house is very well taken care of and we already are excited to spend many more annual family vacations at the Sunset Villa!

Stayed last week. Terry was very nice. This is my 47th summer at GOTL and our first time not at our usual spot since it is closed this year. But, If we are able to, we will rebook this cottage every year. Right on the water, big enough space for friends to drop by and sit by the water. Clean, well stocked with starter supplies and everything you need in the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms. Fit 4 cars easily. Fire pit was great. Ac’s worked well. Could not hear any noise from the strip at the cottage, even though just four houses from the street. Highly recommend and hope to see you again next year Terry. Definitely a great place to stay!

Here’s the positive, you can see the lake and it does have its own parking spots. Now the negative, mildew on the decking, mildew in the window tracks, skunks living under the house, mildew in showers, dirty toilets, soiled bed linens and house in need of many, many repairs. For example there’s a hole in the living room floor covered with styrofoam and a random piece of granite, leads to ?. Also, it rained during our stay, house leaked in two places. Contacted Vrbo customer service and host about an hour after reviewing the property. CS did nothing, the host made offer of half my fee returned to me WITH the contingency that he rerent the house for the time we were scheduled to stay. I didn’t feel I should lose half of my money just for walking in and still have no place to stay. We elected to stay, only to depart a day early due to the leaking. I’m sure the host may dispute my account of the situation in his rebuttal to this review. But I do have pictures to back up what we saw and there were 6 of us and we all had the same opinion of the situation. So this wasn’t just one person’s reaction/opinion.

Always a pleasant stay up there! Great place to relax and the view is wonderful.

The house comes as advertised with plenty of room for larger parties. Great views of the lake from the back deck with access to the lake front! Perhaps the best feature of this rental is the location. You can walk the entire strip from this location which is great when taking in the nightlife GOTL has to offer. The owner was available at all times and made a point to check in and see how we were doing during our stay. You cannot go wrong with this choice!
