We invite you to stay with us and take a ride into the past, experiencing a true piece of American history. Caboose Junction Resort is located on 9 lakefront park-like acres of private paradise on beautiful Table Rock Lake, nestled amongst the rolling hills of southwest Missouri. With space for 32 GUESTS Caboose Junction provides your large group or family reunion an exciting, one-of-a-kind adventure. Gracing our resort are six authentic Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway (ATSF) cabooses, some of the last great remnants of our country's proud railroad heritage. For nearly a half-century, these cabooses roamed the rails throughout Kansas, Colorado, Missouri and many other parts of the Southwest and West. After taking one final journey from Wichita, Kansas, to Exeter, Missouri, and then by highway to Table Rock Lake, Lampe, Missouri, the cabooses were retired and converted into charming resort units. Today, families and friends from all across the U.S. come to relax in these nostalgic cabooses and experience all that the area has to offer. In addition to the six cabooses there is a large home on the resort, called the Grand Victorian Hotel. This home has 6 bedrooms and 5 and a half bathrooms that can accommodate 14 guests and is decorated with antiques from the Victorian Era. You will get to experience and see how great grandma lived, but still have all the modern conveniences of today. You can rock, paper, scissors to see who gets to sleep in the room fit for the queen or the "maids" quarters. Sit in the parlor and enjoy the view, play a game of cards, read an old book, or take a nap on the fainting couch. The choice is yours! Our 6 individual antique train cabooses can host up to 24 “passengers” and are equipped with a mini-fridge and cable tv. The cabooses are best suited for two adults and two children each as we wanted to keep the authenticity of the rail car.
You will have your own private boat ramp and private dock with 8 slip, on the property which makes it VERY convenient if you decide to bring your own boat or jet skis. The amenities include FREE kayaks, fishing poles, fire pits, private dock, swim deck, jumping platform, FREE WiFi, pool table, and a ping pong table that invite recreation and relaxation amid the gorgeous serenity of Table Rock Lake. Your family will never forget the atmosphere of Caboose Junction inspiring the joys of family bonding and creating fun-filled memories that will last a lifetime. Caboose Junction is one of the most distinctive resorts in the Ozarks, home to some of the most scenic mountains, lakes, rivers, and exciting family entertainment in the U.S. Table Rock Lake offers boating, fishing, swimming, water skiing, tubing, jet skiing and so much more! Just a few of the attractions around Table Rock Lake include Eureka Springs, Silver Dollar City, Shepherd of the Hills, Branson, Dogwood Canyon Nature Park, and Talking Rocks Cavern. A week won't be long enough to experience all that the Ozarks has to offer.

Our family, ranging from 2 to 80+ stayed at Caboose Junction for one week and we enjoyed it thoroughly. It was perfect for out needs. The kitchen is large which allowed us to enjoy cooking as a family and thankfully there is an additional downstairs fridge. The dining tables served us well not only for eating but for lots of board game playing. The decks are shaded and have great views. Many of our crew took advantage of the pool table and ping pong table. It had a place for everyone, whether they wanted to be in a quieter place or in the mix with everyone. We needed to reach out to the staff a few times for little things and each time they were immediately available. We would highly recommend this location for others looking for a family reunion location.
Fantastic week on the water, with great accommodations and beautiful views. With almost 30 people we appreciated the extra refrigerators and laundry facilities. The grill on the deck got plenty of use, as did the kayaks and the beautiful new dock.
Our group of 23 stayed at CJ for a weeklong family reunion and had a great time. Between the cabooses and the main house, everyone was covered for sleeping, and the privacy of the location (and that of the cabooses) was ideal. We rarely left the property except to provision (23 people go through a lot of food), but the grocery store in Kimberling City provided everything we needed. The only issue we had was that a contracting crew arrived unexpectedly one day to install a new boat dock. Not only was it a surprise (and a concern until we found out what was going on), but it prevented us from using the dock for swimming for about a 1/2 day. A heads up would have been appreciated, but the new dock is quite nice. A minor detail - the house info binder mentions a bluetooth speaker but we were never able to find one. Fortunately, we brought our own. All in all, this was exactly the kind of facility and location that we wanted for our group, and the entire family had a great time.
Let me start off by saying that my family had a great time at Caboose Junction. The space was great for the size of our extended family reunion (30 total). The boat dock and being close to the water was a huge selling point for us, and the kids loved jumping off the raised platform. The negatives for us were the state of the cabooses. The linens were clean and the beds were relatively comfy, but the windows were very dirty and there were quite a few dead bugs lying about. The main house was clean, but the back deck with the grille patio furniture was also very soiled and needed cleaning to use. We also had trouble when reaching out to the host (seems this unit is managed by a larger rental group) Messages we sent in the app asking questions went unanswered and I had to spend time on the phone trying to get ahold of someone. Overall we had a great time, but I think some in our group were turned off by the state of things, especially for the price we paid.
Our large family utilized the house and several of the cabooses. The dock is the best we've ever experienced. We had a problem with the garbage disposal, but the maintenance man came immediately and fixed it within 10 minutes. Great response!! We have never been to Table Rock Lake, but this sold us forever. We will be back!!
House and cabooses were wonderful for our large family. Property around house was a little overgrown and house needs a little tlc (crock pots did not heat, toilets easily clogged on bottom floor and plunger was torn and would not work and some furniture was well worn. Could have used a few more towels and especially wash cloths. Thankful for the two sets of washer and dryer. We kept them busy. Had a spider and bug issue in cabooses but exterminator came right out and must remember it is located in thick trees. Floating dock was the most popular spot and enjoyed by all ages (2 years to 83 years)We made some wonderful memories and hope to return some day
Although the train cars were winterized and unavailable, we had more than enough room for those of us that actually stayed at night. A lot of the decor is unique, but not ecectic. Very nicely done. We hope to come back in the summer when the entire property is available.
The 9 acre property allows for exploring and space to relax. We arrived with groceries, so we didn't leave the property during our six day visit. The cabooses were locked and winterized, but the vibe was fun, and we think it would be a blast in the summertime. The layout of the main house was conducive to our family with young adult children; however, I would encourage guests to understand the bedroom layout if arriving with lots of littles because of the openness of the upstairs landing. Big groups should pay attention to the listing's suggestion to bring what you will need for the kitchen. We managed three large meals for 9 adults every day with what was provided, but had buffered with dishes and containers from home. The Bunn coffee maker is great! Sure wish we had found the hand mixer, but it never surfaced, so we had to be creative. Overall, the main house is great - good appliances, comfortable beds, plenty of bathrooms, etc. Keep in mind it is a lake house, regardless of the price point, so there was a slight sense of casual disrepair - bedroom carpets with stains, toilet paper holders that easily fall off the wall, many light bulbs out, furniture showing wear, drippy faucets, discoloration in the showers, etc. - nothing glaring, just a well used house sitting on a beautiful property offering a memorable vacation with family or friends. We would definitely rent this home again!
The house met or exceeded expectations. Kitchen lacked a few necessary things like paper towels and aluminum foil but no big deal really. Only hiccup was probably lack of professionalism and communication when reserving the property. Overall good experience. Would stay here again
Nice place Definately a woodsy off the beaten path location Little overgrown with vegetation and plenty of insects which is part of the package but the lakefront is a good escape from that and the dock and jump platform for the kids up top was a huge hit.
