Cherokee Village, Arkansas
Signal tree cottage is nestled privately in the ozarks across the street of Thunderbird Lake providing a beautiful view of the lake from the front deck and upper bedroom. The house will pull you back decades with colorful bathrooms and authentic furnishings yet has all the conveniences of modern day living. Ancient tradition of knowing you are at the right place is still intact with a signal tree on the property.
This property is extremely clean and well supplied. The only issue is that the toilet on the main floor does not work well and the twin bed is very soft with no support, difficult for an adult to sleep on. The other beds are extremely comfortable.
Definitely would stay again!! Highly recommend
Quite neighborhood. Relaxing! The sunrise on the front porch is amazing. Not far from anything in highland or hardy. Well worth it!
On the second day the keypad locked us out. We called The VRBO host who didnt answer but the house is for sale so we left a msg for the realtor, after 30 minutes we text the VRBO host back and called again with no answer, Then finally someone text us a new code to get in, The overall outside property is dirty and unkept like you cant sit outside and enjoy the decks. There is no view of the lake. All though the inside was clean it smells like cigarettes. It is an old house so maybe someone lived there a long time that smoked. There were ants in The kitchen and bathroom. The toilets do not flush well so you have to be careful and flush them a lot.
Very beautiful property ! The house is gorgeous .definitely booking again
We had a very enjoyable relaxing getaway. House was very clean and comfortable. Would stay again.
The house was very clean and a lot nicer than it looks in pictures! The kitchen was so cute. Our only issue was the heater couldn’t really warm the house with the outside temperatures being in the teens so I wish the fireplace was functional but we did find a huge heater in the closet(on our last day). Overall a very nice stay!
Good: House was clean, beds comfy, and retro decor was neat! Not good: Front steps were slippery & icy from previous snowfall. We stayed during a 20°F cold snap and the house's heater couldn't keep up so we had to sleep in our sweats & wool socks. Owner was initially difficult to reach but apologized and offered an amicable solution.
The home was perfectly 'retro' decorated and restored, right down to the analog clocks. Bed was very comfortable. Everything worked and the home was spotless. We plan to return again next year.
This was a very attractively decorated, comfortable home with comfy beds, located in quiet neighborhood with view of the lake. We enjoyed canoeing and fishing both in the lake and on Spring River. The owner was very accommodating.
Jed was great & the house was beautifully restored. Master bedroom & shower is amazing!
