A very nice property with a well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds. The main areas are nice too. The dock and water access are easy and it's a relatively quiet location on the lake, close to the SML State Park with it's marina. The outdoor furniture is a bit tired, but still very usable. We would definitely consider staying here again. One thing to be aware of, there is no streaming available for Netflix or Prime (not sure about others). Apparently the internet isn't good enough. It worked for email, etc. We weren't too bothered, although we would have liked to watch the news and a show at night. It was also frustrating not knowing it wouldn't work, because we kept trying, thinking we were doing something wrong. We had to contact the property manager to get in because the front door lock wouldn't work. They were efficient and helpful - we got in quickly with a key from a lock box.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house has been completely updated with all new furniture. There were just a few things that didn't work. Toilet paper holder was hanging off the wall, the walk-in handheld shower head didn't work. The blender didn't work. Kitchen was not as well stocked with cookware as it states. We cooked all of our own meals so it was a bit challenging. Outside deck lights didn't work, so it was pitch black at night taking our dog out to potty, and trying to go down the steps in the dark was challenging.

Beautiful property in a perfect week on the lake. One thing that's not advertised is the doc is actually in one of the few no wake zones on the entire lake which is super convenient. We look forward to coming back to Smith Mountain lake and this property in particular next year and for the years to come.

This is a stunning home at a beautiful location. Our stay would have been rated 5 stars except for heating issues that plagued our winter visit.Future renters should be aware that the fourth bedroom and fourth full bath are located in the basement, a floor that does not have its own heating/cooling. We rented the property on a cold weekend in January (lows of 20 degrees). The home appeared to have been winterized - the propane was turned off and vents were closed throughout (some closed vents were located in the ceiling of the second floor and required a ladder to reach). It felt as though the property management company (CasaGo) forgot to prepare the home for our winter stay. It was extremely cold is the basement/fourth bedroom so we contacted property management to find a solution. Maintenance came and shared the source of heat for the basement was a gas fireplace (which is not located in the bedroom itself) but the propane was turned off. CasaGo property management said the propane couldn’t be fixed until after we checked out. Their solution was for us to turn up the heat on the first and second floors, and ensure all vents were open (but hot air rises). CasaGo’s response was unacceptable due to the cold temperatures. The company could have done more to help solve the heating issue - they could have provided space heaters or offered a partial refund on our stay.
