Stayed Aug 9, 2025A fun place to stay! The family's favorites were fishing, kayaking, swimming, making smores and catching frogs. The house was well stocked and comfortable. Would definitely stay there again!

Stayed Aug 5, 2017This house is perfect for vacation. The kids all caught fish, frogs and turtles and loved every minute of being on the lake. Easy day trips to Bar Harbor and Acadia and nice to come back to relax by a fire. The owners were very sweet and responsive when we had a question. We wishes we had booked two weeks. We've already recommended this house to others and just left today.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We loved the location - it was quiet but still close to Bar Harbor and lots of activities. The kids loved the lake for swimming and fishing. The house was one of the cleanest house we have rented. It was the perfect set up for two families. The kitchen and family room in the middle with bedrooms off on both sides.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The house at Branch Lake was one of the best decisions we've ever made. We decided to combine a 50th birthday celebration with our summer vacation and were so lucky to stumble upon this home and the terrific owners, Tammy and Jesse. They are easily two of the best owners we have ever dealt with. They could not have been more helpful, accommodating, knowledgeable and helpful and did everything to assure our stay was perfect. Their home is the perfect getaway; a classy, rustic cabin, that's spacious yet comfortable; impeccably clean, stocked with everything you could possibly need and more. The lake out back is a wonder to explore by yourself on a kayak or with family. We enjoyed many days playing on the lake, grilling outdoors, reading quietly at night and using the cabin as a base to explore everything from Acadia National Park, to Ellsworth to Bar Harbor. If you love lobster, don't miss asking the owners to bring over a couple of lobsters from a family member who provided us with 3 of the best lobsters we have ever had...in our lives!!! They even provide you with a lobster pot, bibs, lobster crackers and everything you need to have a true Maine lobster experience. This house is everything you could wish for on a vacation to Maine; only made better by two of the nicest people we have ever met. Don't miss this place! It'll provide you with memories for years to come!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We loved our stay on Branch Lake. The home was clean and spacious, had comfortable beds (King & Queen), and had everything you could need for the kitchen. I loved having the full size washer/dryer in the basement. My kids loved catching frogs and fish in the Lake. Beautiful views of the Lake! The owners are wonderful to work with and have a done an amazing job of making it feel like home. This is a great location for sight seeing Maine. You won't be disappointed! We hope to come back soon!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This was our second year to stay in this fabulous property, owned and managed by the best owners we have ever dealt with. We are fortunate to be able to travel a great deal, and we stay in some really nice places. As far as rental homes go, this is the BEST anywhere. Tammy and Jesse, you make the place what it is, fabulous! We are going to Europe for two weeks next summer and decided we would forgo Maine next year, but after last week we are reconsidering! The end of July is looking pretty good. This is by far the most relaxing vacation we take every year. Being on the shallow end or the lake, the water is warmer and zero entry into the water is perfect for the kids. They caught turtles, frogs and countless fish! Jack fished 12 hours a day. Thanks for the great hospitailty and for sharing your home. Steve, Jennifer, Jack and Emma

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We just got back from our Maine family vacation a few days ago and we all had a great time at this lovely house. We had a total of 9 people, 2 couples, 2 seniors, a 6 years old child and 2 teenage boys. There were enough bedrooms and sleeping areas to accommodate everyone and the house came with every thing we needed to cook/eat with. The wildlife we encountered at the house was amazing, we saw bald eagles, beavers, a mink, loons, and ducklings. We loved using the kayak and canoe that come with the house to explore the lake. The kids enjoyed catching frogs, crawfish and everyone enjoyed fishing. The fire pit was a very nice touch. We all enjoyed setting up camp fires and roasting marshmallows at night. If you enjoy being with nature, this is a very nice place to enjoy it with your family. Although the house was close to an hour drive to Acadia National Park, we made the trip there 4 out of the 7 days we were there. Go, the drive is worth it! The drive itself was very pleasant and scenic. Acadia is AMAZING. We were overall very happy with this house and owners hospitality. They were both very responsive and helpful. Can't wait to return to this wonderful house.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This is our second time at this location and we enjoyed ourselves again. It is a great property located on a nice lake away from the busy tourist areas surrounding Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The cabin is located just outside downtown Ellsworth making the location far enough away from the busy areas but close enough to shop. The cabin is clean, exceptionally maintained and in a great location. The cabin is rustic with a great outdoor theme that fits in well with the lake. Since the last time, they installed air conditioners in the rooms. This was a nice amenity since the temperatures were a little warmer than we had expected. The cabin has everything you need for a family and the addition of the washer and dryer reduced the amount of clothing we needed to bring with us. The cabin was like staying at home except a lot more relaxing. We have no complaints about the quality or condition of the cabin or any of the furnishings. We rented the boat and had a great time exploring and fishing on the lake. The entire family enjoyed canoeing, kayaking and fishing. The lake had very little activity and was quiet. Our 10 year old was a little reluctant to swim in the lake because of the grass and plants but once she got in she enjoyed herself. The water was about 70 degrees, clear and the depth near the dock about 2-3 feet. Swimming in the deeper water was like swimming in a pool except you were surrounded by various fish e.g. perch, bluegill, etc. Excellent fishing from the boat and the dock. The entire family looked forward to late afternoon bass fishing. The bass fishing on Branch Lake is excellent once you learn the trick. Catching smallmouth and largemouth bass in the 2-4 pound range was a daily event. Excellent fishing! The owner is very friendly and easy to work with. We had to make some adjustments to our travel schedule and the owner was more than accomodating. She checked in with us once we arrived to ensure we had everything. Again, the owner is fantastic to work with. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a nice outdoor lake vacation away from the normal tourist traps. This is a great alternative to busy Bar Harbor area but close enough that you can make day trips to shop, eat and hike. This was a great vacation that our family continues to enjoy.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Tammy and Jess have a fantastic home on a really serene lake. The house was exactly as described and met all our expectations. The week we stayed was 95 degrees everyday, so really appreciated the air conditioning. Couple of tips (not negative, just details for those planning a trip to the area): - The location is fantastic for a quiet getaway and staying close by. But be aware that restaurants are at least 20min away (apart from a great farmers market/store 5min down the road). - The house has a/c in the bedrooms, but not in the main living room/kitchen, so temps during the evening got to 83 when we wanted to sit and relax and read, watch a movie, etc. Not a deal-breaker, just meant we had to spend more in the bedroom. All-in-all a great experience, everything was as explained in the description and Tammy and Jess were very helpful on activities and suggestions. Would definitely recommend a visit to their house for other vacationers.
