Pirate’s Cove resort offers 1.5 miles of waterfront for fishing, hiking, or swimming with gorgeous lake views, shoreline fishing and beach access year-round. Our lake home is 20 minutes from Murray State University, 15 minutes from Land between the Lakes, 40 minutes to Venture Water Park, and 45 minutes from the Quilt Museum.

Our family friendly home is a two-story 1,500 square foot home with 2 bedrooms, a loft, 2 bathrooms and 2 entertainment spaces. The main floor has 2 bedrooms (one with a queen bed the other with a queen and twin bunk bed), a half bath, large family room with entertainment setup and seating for 6-8. The deck steps down to a large, quiet, peaceful backyard full of large mature trees, hammock, outdoor games, and fire pit.

Parking: room for 6 large SUVs. The front of the house, has a large carport (large enough for a pontoon boat) and a gravel parking pad that can accommodate 2 large SUVs. A 2nd driveway leading to the back of the house, is least 50’ long and can accommodate an additional 3 large SUVs.

Kentucky Lake is the largest man-made lake east of the Mississippi River. It is also the largest body of water between the Great Lakes and the Gulf of Mexico.

Boat launching from the Pirate's Cove Marina is included in the rental. Boat slips can be rented from Pirate's Cove resort. Please visit the resort website for more resort information on boat slip rental: https://piratescoveky.com The community pool is typically operational from Memorial Day to Labor Day but you must contact that Pirates Cove office prior to your visit to confirm. Please note that the beach is a typical rocky lake beach and not a white sandy Florida beach.

Please contact owner to add more than one dog to reservation. There are many stairs/steps in the home that some would consider very steep. Please keep this in mind when booking.

House was clean and had everything we needed and the small things we forgot were able to be picked up at the dollar general down the road. Steps to loft and lower level were steep but manageable. Fire pit was nice but full of ash, once cleaned out we were able to use it. Also no wood was provided so be sure to bring some or request that some is provided before you get there. Having the kitchen and game room on the lower level and the bedrooms on the first and second floor was unusual but it worked out as the kitchen door is level with the deck and people playing games late at night weren't disturbing those that went to bed early. Access to the lake was challenging due to the lake at winter pool so after winter draw down the best ramp to use was the one at Kenlake statepark which has free use and parking. We would stay at this property again.

Property needed a deep clean the vents on the furnace and bathroom fans were covered with dirt. The furnace filter had not been changed in ages. There were COCKROACHES in the kitchen!!! The outside was covered with spider webs/leaves that should have been cleaned. Basic maintenance needed to be done. Baseboard missing.Fan in Captain bedroom so loud could not use. Refrig light broke, no shelf racks in door of refrig. Door knobs missing on kitchen cabinets. Broken step on deck. Rocks used to support an outside bench leg that was broken. Door jam to full bath broke. Exhaust fan above stove fell off because it was broke and was extremely dirty. Other issue was all trash was to be put in trash bags, but only one additional bag was provided. I have stayed at several Vrbo rentals and expected this property to be comparable to these other experiences - this was the absolute worse and would not consider staying here again.

Such a cool spot! It has lots of beds and a ton of outdoor space. It is in a beautiful area and it was nice to hear all of the crickets and tree frogs and no sirens!

Checkin was easy and unit was clean. Very nice place. We enjoyed our stay. The stairs to loft are very steep but not a problem for us. There is no pool or marina as stated in the VRBO site.

The owner was responsive to all communications. The house is rather unique, built on a hill so the floors are spaced well and create nice areas for dining and entertainment. I really loved the property! A huge deck with chairs and benches to hangout on. A large fire pit in the yard, a really nice charcoal grill.I’ve been going on trips to Land Between the Lakes for over 40 years and this is my first time at this property. Very well done!

Overall we’d probably stay at this rental again simply because of the proximity to our in-laws home. We were in the area visiting family and needed a space that could sleep two families comfortably, which it did. Communication with the owners was fine, and it was a quiet neighborhood with a peaceful back patio to enjoy coffee on. That said, we discovered that the community pool isn’t functioning (it hasn’t been for a year and won’t be for some time, and yet the listing, as well as the listing for another rental on the same street still advertise the property as having access to a pool). I was also a bit disappointed in the overall cleanliness. The house only has one shower and the shower liner was old and dirty with a bunch of red mildew, so we bought a new one at Dollar General. We did enjoy the set up and appreciated that it was close to where we needed it to be.

The house had plenty of space and room for outdoor activity. We especially enjoyed the deck area. Kitchen oven could use a good clean but otherwise everything else is as advertised. We had a great Holiday weekend here.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. We had a little snag at checkin where the code did not open the property, but the owner quickly reset and provided a new code. Very cute cabin set up and decor, and the thermostat worked great! They have a little ac unit and fan in the crows nest area so that was also comfortable temperature wise. The stairs were exceptionally steep and gave us all a workout to get up and down from the kitchen to the bedroom levels all weekend. Also the only shower is in the lower level with the kitchen, while all the bedrooms are on the main floor and crows nest area.

It was a very cute little home. The pictures make it seem a lot bigger than it is. The layout is odd with the kitchen, shower, and game room in the basement and the living room and 2 bedrooms on the main floor. THE STAIRS ARE VERY DANGEROUS! The “ stairs” or ladder to the loft doesn’t have a handrail and and very steep. The ramp on the side of the home didn’t have any sort of grip tape and was VERY slick. My mother in law and kids fell a few times. Only one keypad worked and it locked it each time with no one to turn it off so it was very annoying to constantly have to put the code in just to go on and off the deck. You also need a visitors pass to use the marina and recreation area however the one that was left in the home was expired. Thankfully the office gave us one pass to hang in one of the vehicles we had. You have to walk a quarter of a mile for a fishing spot a few miles for a spot to swim. The pool at the office has limited hours and costs per person. This house isn’t a good suit for older people or anyone with hip or knee issues. Overall it was a nice stay.
