For more than 20 years our family has spent my husband’s birthday weekend together in various places in New York, New Jersey or Pennsylvania. This is the first time we have decided to revisit the same place twice. The setting is beautiful, the house is lovely and it would be hard to imagine how to improve on the experience,
This property is well-maintained, bright, spacious and provides so many amenities. The owners take special care to see that guests' needs are adequately addressed. The owners are extremely responsive and easy to contact if necessary. For our group of 8 adults, this property was perfect in every way.
Our family of 11 enjoyed a fun-filled week at this lovely lakeside getaway. The property was beautifully appointed and the house, although showing the typical wear and tear of popular rental homes, was spacious and comfortable. Bedrooms were well situated for privacy and quiet and locating all the tvs and pool table, ping pong etc on the lower level allowed our teenagers to hang out there late at night without bothering the adults who prefer an earlier bedtime. We did find some discrepancies between the VRBO description of the house and the amenities listed by the owner, e.g, there was an outdoor hot tub but not an indoor hot tub adjoining the master bedroom, nor was there a separate prep sink in the kitchen. Possibly this is due to a VBRO failing to update in synch with changes on the rental property. Overall however the experience was positive and we especially liked having two refrigerators, two ovens and two dishwashers to streamline vacation “chores!”
This lake front property is truly special! We wanted a family vacation for my husband and I, my adult daughter and her husband, my adult son and our 10 month old granddaughter. Given the last year with Covid, we were looking for quality time together...to relax and enjoy each other's company. The house and amenities are exactly as described in the listing. There are plenty of indoor and outdoor activities for all to enjoy. My husband particularly enjoyed fishing every day from the dock. The views are spectacular! When we arrived, we chose to do a big food shopping trip and eat in for the majority of the week. The kitchen is very large, functional and had everything we needed. The property owner was great and promptly answered our questions both before and during our stay. We would definitely stay at this property again!
This property was just as described--large, lovely home on the lake with lots to do for the family. Michael made everything easy and the entire stay ran smoothly. I would highly recommend.
First off, Mike was very communicative and quick/happy to respond. The property also has a great informational website which was very helpful. The photos essentially tell the story of the home and we had a great time there. Tips: Make sure you give yourself some time for trash disposal before check out. Also check the weather ahead of time as it's cooler weather by the house.
WOW!! I've rented many Mountain houses over the last few years and none of them quite compare to this one. Immaculate, unique, fun, relaxing, peaceful, well stocked and just.....PERFECT! This house somehow strikes that balance of feeling cozy and knowing you're in the mountains yet it has a subtle shore-like feel to it as well. It's the best of both worlds but with all that mountain charm and tranquility. If you bring groceries and drinks with you, you will literally never have to leave this house once you arrive until your check out day (which we did inquire about renting an extra night because of how much we were enjoying ourselves but it was booked solid!). The unique design and layout of this house is enough to fall in love with it (the atrium is one of the shining stars of this house!) but step out back and the perfection continues. I rented this house with my family so there were a mix of adults and kids between 9 and 16. Every single person who stayed here was in awe of the whole experience and we could not have had a more memorable or a more enjoyable time. With the endless amenities from the pool table, shuffleboard, ping pong table, hot tub, fire pit, sauna, sitting out on the beautiful private beach and watching the AMAZING sunsets, the kayaks, paddle boats and paddle boards...I mean you literally cannot get bored here! I love the house so much I texted the owner and told him if they ever decide to sell to please give me first dibs! Haha!! I highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a vacation where you can thoroughly enjoy doing nothing yet have the option to do so much! Whether you're by yourself, with a few people or a larger group of people, this house will meet your needs and exceed expectations, guaranteed. I really hope to be back again next year!
The house was so nice and exactly what you saw online, no hidden surprises. There was so much to do and the dock and beach gave the kids both what they wanted. The water sports were so much fun, and it was calm and quiet. Check in and out was so easy and the owners were great communicators! I would highly recommend this property, we were so happy. And thanks to this rental we will now have Sonos wireless speakers all over our house also. Also don’t be scared off by no air conditioning, we went on the hottest week of the year and the attic fan and open windows in the trees made it beautiful, and we are 68 degree central air people. Thank you!,
We had a very nice time at this house on Larsen Lake. We were a group of 12 and the house was big enough for all of us. The house is beautiful with lots of windows overlooking the lake. The house comes with boats and cornhole, ping pong, pool, and shuffleboard. The state park is down the street and it is a good area for biking around as are the roads within the gated community across the one lane bridge. Because of the pandemic closures, we couldn't use the community amenities but they offer a swimming pool, tennis, and more. We didn't go out to eat and cooked all our meals in the house, and the kitchen has lots of dishes and pans. Overall, this is a great house for a large group's lakefront summer vacation.
My family just spent a wonderful 4 days there during New Years break. Larsen Lake House is a beautiful home. Beautifully decorated, warm and inviting. We had 10 adults and there was plenty of room for all of us. We brought food to make a NYE dinner and the kitchen was stocked with all we needed to have a family dinner over looking the winter wonderland of the Poconos. Afterwards we had ping pong competitions And great family time. I Would definitely go back in the warmer months to be able to enjoy the warmer weather activities.
