We just returned from an amazing extended weekend on Lake Weiss. This property is lakefront, with beautiful views from two levels. The house had a well stocked and recently remodeled kitchen, and a spacious open floor plan that was perfect for our family. We enjoyed coffee every morning out on the screened in porch that overlooked the lake, and sat out on the dock each evening to star gaze. This modest but beautiful lake house has all the basics to ensure a memorable family trip! We highly recommend this property, and will definitely be back!
The home was beautiful, the view of the lake was just as beautiful. Clean, well managed and had everything we needed.
There was a lot to like about this property. The screened porch was a favorite place to view the lake without the bugs. We had plenty of room for 3 adults and 2 teens. Lots of TVs so everyone could watch what they wanted to watch. Private dock was nice and there’s a private boat ramp. It’s about a 10 min drive to Piggly Wiggly (groceries) and about 5-7 mins further to Walmart. The kitchen was well stocked and the large island was great. There is a road between the house and the water. This wasn’t clear in the description and it wasn’t a huge deal but it was different than expected. The biggest thing was a neighbors dog that kept coming into the yard and up to the house barking and setting off our dog. Lastly, the stairs going from the upstairs to the downstairs bedrooms were unusually shallow which we finally got used to but it was an initial safety issue with multiple people almost falling down the stairs. Overall, this is a nice and clean property and would be excellent for those coming to bring a boat and fish. The best time for fishing is Oct-Mar.
Master bedroom mattress was awful. Got bitten by bugs in my sleep. This property is pretty isolated. I would say this property is overpriced.
Great place to spend some time with family, or just to get away if one wanted to. We went in July and the house stayed a comfortable 72 degrees. There was a Wal-Mart within reasonable travel. We really loved the screened in patio setup and the large living area. We would stay here again for sure. No complaints.
We had a wonderful time here! Fantastic view and very nice home.
Thank you for sharing your property with us. It was a central location for three couples wanting to enjoy a long weekend at the lake. We had perfect weather and enjoyed our time together. The private dock and boat ramp were easy to access, and the available parking for two boats was a huge perk. The screened in porch was wonderful for an early morning cup of coffee with a nice view of the water.
I really enjoyed my stay here. The beds are perfect and the view of the lake is amazing. One note for those who like air circulation in the bedroom for sleeping, you may want to bring a fan as there are no ceiling fans. Great experience overall and they have a traditional coffee maker and a Keurig. The host gives you some K-Cup pods so you have coffee your first morning. Very thoughtful.
This property was just as advertised. The Weiss Lake location was quiet and peaceful. We stayed with two other adult couples. Plenty of space to spread out upstairs in the spacious common area for three couples. Made use of the programmable coffee pot for coffee ready each morning just like home. Made use of the large kitchen island for games and the large wrap around couch saw plenty of use for watching football and hanging out. The deck outside allows beautiful views of the lake. Saw deer behind the house each day. One thing you would want to be aware of if you have family members that have difficulty with stairs. This may not be the rental for you. There is a ground level entry which would be helpful but to get to the second level would require you to use the outside stairs or the inside stairs, both of which are somewhat steep. Just some FYI for the owner who by the way was helpful and responsive throughout the rental process. Would definitely put some type of motion light on the exterior we arrived at night and it was very difficult initially to find and see the upstairs key box, etc. Would hire a company to do some exterior cleaning at least in the windows. There were many spiderwebs for instance in the upstairs bathroom and wasps in the deck area, which we took care of with no issue. Would also hire somebody to blow the driveway off once in a while we actually had to do it because the pine straw was so thick and wet. It was difficult to get up the driveway. Not sure if it was intentional but the blower that was there was very nice for us to be able to use. Would also recommend some blinds in the bathrooms even though it is private property I know the ladies would’ve felt better with being able to pull blinds in the bathroom. Obviously, not a dealbreaker for us and we understand spiderwebs happen. We enjoyed our stay very much, and would do it again in the same house.
My husband and I enjoyed the fully stocked home. We had everything we needed. The view was wonderful. So quiet. Close to Georgia where we enjoyed golf at Stonebridge and lunch at Sam’s Burger and Deli which honors Vets. We explored Cave Spring GA. We hope to make this an annual trip
First, overall a good place. My bigest concern was the stairs. I am a contractor and have to be aware of the claimpance of the stairs as far as handicap and safety. The treads, ( the flat part ) of the steps are too short. Should be at LEAST 11 inches and shoud be more like 12 inches. I wear size 12 shoes and 2 1/2 inches of the bacl of my shoe was hanging over the tread. The top step os only 2 inches and would be considered a trip hazard by code. Additionally the grab rails are supposed to be continious from the top to the bottom, past the first and last step. That os probably the most potential dangerious . Coming up from the ground on the stairs to the left side the top rail is very loose and needs to be reattached. Just maintance type stuff! Again overall good place and enjoyed the weekend!!
The house was so clean, beautiful and convenient for all of us. We had a really great time and stayed on the Lake most of the time with the kids.. We loved the deer in our yard and the turkeys running around. It was a perfect get away for us.
We loved our time at this property. It was clean and had everything you needed. It was well maintained. Loved the screened in porch with the view of the lake. We swam off the dock and enjoyed multiple trips on the boat. Beds were comfortable and had plenty of linens. Great Lake house and great location on the lake and close to travel up Little River.
Very nice property,we enjoyed the peace and quiet, saw 2 bald eagles!
