Avon, North Carolina
This spacious house is the perfect place to unwind and recharge. The bedrooms are spaced out on separate floors for privacy. Large wrap around decks over look the tree tops and lake, with a private dock to kayak or just feed the geese. 7 person hot tub with waterfall is prefect for unwinding. Gas fireplace available in the October 1st - April 1st.
Assess to Kinnakeet Shores Resort amenities including Olympic- size community pool and two tennis courts. Kinnakeet Shores has fabulous pedestrian walkways and a great running path along the Pamlico Sound. House has outdoor shower and fish cleaning table.
Our family had a wonderful stay. The deck was very privateneatled in the trees and had a gate, so our dogs could enjoy being out with us. We enjoyed the hot tub each night under the stars and coffee esch morning at the little table outside. The beds, including the fiton in t n e bonus room were comfortable. The living room had 2 more cushy chairs that were not pictured. This made seating for 6 plis an extra. The house had clean sheets and smelled fine. The air-conditioning was very good. The house could have been cleaner. counters and sinks needed wiped down, the floors and furniture needed swept. Overall it was wonderful.
The home has a well-stocked kitchen with gas stove. There are four areas to sleep including a futon on top floor with view of tree tops and houses. There is no view of the sound at the house but the hot tub is relaxing and very private. The children's room with bunk bed is inviting with lots of books to amuse the little ones. It is a pet friendly environment with bowls for food and a welcoming dog toy. The community pool is wonderful and refreshing. 0verall, it was a nice and relaxing stay.
The propery owner was awesome to work with. To be honest the cleaning folks need to do better. Good location and i would recommend the home.
Really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and well decorated. I loved the futon room, very comfortable. My 4 yr old loved the bunk bed and all the books and games. My family and I would stay here again.
The property was nice and relatively comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised to see that it had what could be used as a 4th bedroom (futon bed). This was not clear from the listing (It appeared to only have 3 bedrooms with 2 queens and a bunk bed) I would suggest making the verbiage in the listing a little more transparent to communicate all possible sleeping options. We could have used this info when making plans. As far as the stay goes, everyone was comfortable, though the property wasn't thoroughly cleaned prior to our arrival, which is the primary reason for my 3 star review (this is easily fixed). There were at most 4 people staying at the property, though we were only there to sleep each night and then go out to fish during the day. We never used the hot tub. A few basic suggestions: The very first thing you see when you enter the house is the stairs and our first impression was that the carpet on the stairs was really dirty . One of the beds also had a considerable amount of dog hair and did not appear to have been cleaned prior to our arrival. Other than this, the house was relatively clean (again, these issues are easily fixed). The other suggestion is in regards to the keys to the property. I would suggest the owner invest in a keyless entry lock and pin code to make the process of check-in and check-out much simpler for everyone. Having to navigate different pick-up and drop locations for the keys before and after our stay added an unnecessary layer of complexity. To be transparent, I did accidentally fail to drop the keys off to the correct person (housekeeper?) per the instructions at check-out. I took them back to the original pick-up location by accident. This said, I was also having to navigate multiple rental properties that week. All the other properties had keyless systems and the process was so much easier by comparison (for me and the property owners). Again, this is just a suggestion. While our experience was OK, the price we ended up paying was for a bit more than just OK, so this is the lens through which this review is written. I would gladly give it my endorsement once the previously mentioned issues are sorted.
Love it!
Great space and comfortable! We loved the decks and hot tub. Did have to wipe counters in kitchen and bathrooms and clean the shower. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Definitely recommend!
The house was perfect for our family vacation. The only negative was the size of the kitchen. There were 7 adults and 2 kids, the kitchen was very small which made it a little difficult to have more than one person in the kitchen. Otherwise, we had a great time and lots of memories were made.
We had such a good stay! Close to beach, sound and the amenities. The place was clean and well stocked. The deck with the gate was awesome for our pup to catch some rays while we enjoyed the hot tub! Highly recommend this place.
Stayed here for a week in July, and Avon is a fantastic town. This house is within walking distance of Food Lion and a long-ish (but manageable) walk to the beach. The hot tub was clean and lovely, the AC worked great and kept the place comfortable, and there was plenty of room for four adults and four kids to move around. There were boogie boards, surf rod holders, and a single beach chair at the house. I have a couple of nit-picky complaints - a couple of the mattresses were uncomfortable and could stand to be replaced. The living room has comfortable chairs, but not a full size couch which made it a little tight for 8 people to sit comfortably. And I had a question to the owner that went unanswered (though it was a busy summer, I know). All in all, this is a very decent beach house where you will be very comfortable during your time at the beach. I would stay here again!
