Worked really well for our group. Lots of room for the 12 of us. Property is older and could use a few things replaced Great location, not great parking Got $200 parking ticket for having my bumper hanging 2” over the lined sidewalk
The views from this home were unbelievable! We fished right off the Point and saw sea turtles, colorful fish, parrots etc right outside our vrbo. There were surfers every morning. The fresh water pool with waterfall and the outdoor hammocks, ping pong and water toys were nice. With 11 people it was also nice having 2 kitchens and 2 washer/dryers. We loved the outside bed and lenai for meals. The bedrooms upstairs were nice excluding 1 bed which was uncomfortable. Beds downstairs in the triple and the living room were awful. The 2 singles in the back room were pretty good. The hottub was unusable for 3 nights due to an ongoing maintenence issue. Management was responsive and referenced money back after check out, but really, the use of the hottub was what we wanted. Also for spending close to $15,000 for the week, I got a bad vibe that it came with very little TP. dishwasher tabs, garbage bags and paper towel. Overall it was a good experience on our trip of a lifetime. Mahalo!
We had a family of 6 - ranging from 3-63. Plenty of space for everyone. The areas in the house that had been updated, were lovely. The areas that have not been updated, are - just that dated. That's fine as long as the 'dated' things are in working order. The 'hidden' driveway on such a busy street made for scary exits. The backyard and pool was wonderful - but there's a lot of road noise. The best parts were the upstairs lanai, the waves crashing on the rocks, the ocean and surfer activity and the birds.
Wow, the view! The kitchen is super for large family gathering! Beds on second floor and lanai were better than the lower level. More screens in lower level window would improve ventilation. Great place to relax! We will do it again!
Awesome location, great views. Plenty of space for everyone. Pool is not intended for larger parties to use daily.
Fantastic location on the ocean. Lots of surfers, parasailers, divers, swimmers, and fisherpeople to observe. Swimming is possible when the waves are diminished. Sunsets can be spectacular. The house backs up to busy Alii drive and caution when exiting by car is strongly advised.
We had a great stay. No complaints. Beds were comfortable. House was comfortable for a group of 12.
We had a great family reunion here and really enjoyed the amenities, especially the location.
First time in Kona. We had a great time using the oceanfront ocean, pool, hot tub and great house. Restaurants were super close. Will go back.
The location can't get any better than this! We had an awesome stay. Nice big home. Location, location, location!!!
We loved this place. The front row ocean view and amazing sunsets were incredible. The house was clean with room for everyone and the yard spacious. The pool was the perfect place to cool off and the hot tub was a welcome spot to relax each evening. This was such a great value for our large group!
We had such a great time at this house! Check-in was easy and we arrived to the most gorgeous ocean view we have ever seen. Both kids and adults enjoyed everything the house had to offer including pool, hot tub, corn hole, ping pong, even a mini putting green, and of course the views from every room in the house. We'll be back!
What an unbelievable ocean front location! Spacious house was perfect for our multigenerational trip. Everything was clean and perfect for our arrival. Nothing beats the waves breaking right on the rocks in front of you and soaking in those sunsets while sitting in the hot tub or on the lanai. The kitchens are remodeled with nice stainless appliances and we learned the bathrooms were freshly remodeled just the week before our stay! Checkin and communication with host was easy. Also the value of this place versus renting many hotel rooms for our family just can’t be beat. We plan to stay here again for the next family reunion.
We rented this house for my Mom’s 60th birthday and flew the family in - 6 adults and 2 children. The location and views from the house are absolutely stunning - albeit pulling out and into the driveway can be tricky with a big car (think Suburban or Tahoe). The house itself was relatively clean - but it’s obvious that the property is in need of a serious makeover and some TLC. The pictures show an updated kitchen - two in fact but that’s where the updates end. The rest of the house is straight out of the 80s with full mirrored walls in tow. The pool is smaller than pictured and if you are staying for an extended period of time will be a nice green by the time you leave. The hot tub kept losing water - but honestly it was probably the nicest thing about the outside patio (other than the view). The master bathroom is definitely older - the air conditioning is not central, you have wall units in each bedroom, which work, but you are warned not to turn them too low. There’s no air conditioner in areas like the bathroom or main living area which get quite hot during the day (especially if you are venturing out). The main living floor is upstairs and the outdoor table on the lanai is great for family meals. It’s probably a whole 10 degrees cooler out there than inside. The doors and screens to the rest of the house however have holes in them that let the critters through - so if you don’t like flies, cockroaches, geckos etc you’ll probably want to keep them closed. In summary, for a first trip to Hawaii, we had a great time. I personally wouldn’t stay again until the home is updated, but if all you care about is views, then this is the place for you. The home is large, can be comfortable, and is great for family gatherings - but it’s obvious that the location is taking a toll on the maintenance and much much needed refurb on the property.
