Knotty Pines | Dock Slip + Near State Parks

We were in the area for a wedding and booked through VRBO instead of a hotel for the extra room, privacy, and amenities. The check-in process for this property was cumbersome as there were extra emails, forms, and even contracts to sign in addition to a VRBO booking. We arrived and had no problems getting into the property. We found it reasonably close to Oakland, MD where we found some good spots to eat - nice town. We checked the hot tub and found that the temperature was a disappointing 87 degrees despite being set to 100 but we did not have time to mess with it as we quickly changed for the wedding. Knowing the hot tub takes time to warm back up after cleaning, etc. we planned to use it later. When we returned from the wedding, the hot tub was still 87 degrees. The following morning, I called the office and they apologized and said they'd send out a tech that day, which a note on the door while we were out indicated they did. The hot tub never reached above 93 degrees during our stay. We called before departing today and they pointed to their contract that says amenities such as pools and hot tubs are not guaranteed to work, and no concessions would be made. Some of the beds were very firm but the place was otherwise cozy. So, CAUTION on Taylor-Made properties as they may bait you in with amenities you'll pay extra for but point to a contract rather than make things right when they fail. Good luck!

Overall was very pleased with the property. The kitchen was stocked well with appliances and cookware which helped a lot. It is very spacious and clean. Could use a little more attention to cleaning under beds, dressers, and couch. Found lots of chip bags and candy wrappers underneath. Hot tub and fire pit was nice. The chairs around the firepit were not very sturdy and actually had one collapse on us but was still able to enjoy the fire! Would definitely recommend and stay there again.

This property was amazing. Three full bedrooms and two baths were just enough space for my sisters and I. The dock was a little tricky to find at first but we loaded everything in to the car and parked for the day and went out on the boat. It was awesome we had a dock slip with the house. Hot tub was great, very well equipped kitchen as well! My only issue is a few maintenance things that we called management about weren’t addressed (ceiling fan didn’t work in one bedroom, garbage disposal didn’t work) and the mattresses were very old and hard to sleep on. The twin mattress makes quite a bit of noise for others sleeping in that room as well so just be prepared. Would definitely stay here again!

This property was absolutely perfect! The house was very spacious and the furniture was cozy. We were there to ski and celebrate my daughters 30th birthday. We enjoyed the extra large table for meals and games. The kitchen was well stocked with every amenity that you would need. The hot tub was clean and in perfect condition. The parking was the best of any rental I have been to in Deep Creek. The bathroom floors were even heated! Such a beautiful and private setting. I would recommend this property to anyone and will surly rebook it!

The hot tub didn't work when we came the first night, they promptly had someone to fix it the next morning. The hot water didn't work either the second night but overall great time. Clean and great costumer service

Knotty Pines was a great place for our family to stay. Rooms are big, couches are comfy and plenty of amenities in the kitchen. Close to the lake. The assigned boat slip & dock was a short walk from the cabin. The Only downfall was that the beds weren’t the comfiest. All in all, it was the perfect place!

This beautiful property, placed in a quiet setting among the trees was so much more than we expected. Equipped with everything you need for a great weekend. Will definitely book again!!!
