Long weekend getaway. Pictures were deceptive of the overall place. Bathroom floors, rug was dirty. Had grout everywhere, holes in wall, dirty bedspread. Needs blinds in bedroom. Had super musty smell in home. The actual price was good but after all the fees were added in it was super expensive. Would not stay at this place again
We enjoyed our stay and recommend to other travelers. Location was in a quiet neighborhood. Easy to get to grocery, shopping and dining. I would stay here again.
Our stay at Highland House could not have been better! Clean, charming and located close to downtown Franklin, made for an easy and wonderful stay. Our son slept on the sleeper sofa~ and even that was comfortable! The property manager is responsive and quick to answer questions. We highly recommend!
There are two glaring issues with this property: 1. The bedroom curtains are sheer and the orange street light shines through all night, not to mention how easy it would be for someone to see in when the bedroom lights are on. 2. The division between the other unit in the back part of the property is a thin, interior door (in our kitchen). We could see light from their unit under it, clearly hear them talking about the room game they were watching (while we were in the living room), and we could smell their cooking from our bedroom. The listing also showed a back yard but there was no access to that aside from walking around the house next to the neighbor's house. Also, there were some nice amenities but it looked like a flipped house that was incomplete: painted over drywall anchors, painted paper towel stuffed in a hole in the wall where the thermostat used to be, and scuffs on the walls everywhere. Finally, something chirped/alarmed in the back unit three times (twice in the middle of the night and once in the evening) that caused something in our unit to chirp in response (I'm guessing carbon monoxide detector but it was reading safe). I would not stay again until they properly soundproof/seal the unit and add actual blinds or blackout shades to the bedroom.
Very clean, updated style, adorable house. It was perfect for just my husband and I. Would definitely stay here again!
