Great house! Clean and just what we needed. House could use some updating but when you spend a majority of the time on the beach it works just fine!
Enjoyed a wonderful weekend with family at this lovely home. The location was perfect, close enough to walk or bike to beach, or the night Heron Park. Kiawah Island is a beautiful, peaceful place.
House is very comfortable. Enjoyed the beach! Access to the resort amenties is a huge plus!
Great house for a large family with kids and a perfect location as its easy to walk to the beach and bike anywhere on the island. The home needs from new furniture and same updating, but the host indicated that its being done in the fall and can't wait to see what they add.
My family and I had a wonderful time at this property. It’s very close to the beach and quiet. We would stay here again! It did need some cleaning when we got there, but it wasn’t anything too major.
Great location, very clean. Living room furniture is very tired, needs to be replaced. Everything else a ok.
The house is literally 2 blocks from beach. Great culdisac for kids to play. House was just as we expected. Had minor inconveniences that we delt with. Owner was very accessible to comuunixtae with and attempted to take care of issues. We have already booked the house for next summer.
We had a family gathering which consisted of 6 adults and 4 children (all under 10yrs). The house suited us well with three bedrooms for the adults and one for the kids (bunkbeds+single&queen). The house has an open environment which accommodated our indoor activities. The location is a 5 minute walk to beach access #12 and a short ride via a bike path to Night Heron Park. Greg, the owner, participates in the Kiawah Island Resort program which allows access to the Night Heron Park pool (and other resort facilities) along with a 15% discount for restaurants, golf, and other resort programs. Greg is easy to reach and responses to email inquiries (prior to and when there) were typically less than two hours which was very much appreciated. He offered options for bike rentals and activities on the island to help with our planning. Would stay there again.
My husband and I and our son, daughter-in-law and 2 grandsons (ages 13 and 15 yrs old) attended a wedding and stayed a bit longer to vacation. All I can say is our experience with the house itself and the location and all communications with the owner was pure perfection!!! I LOVED every part of the house. Beautiful, clean, open, and airy with LOTS of space for everyone. And there was no need to buy any paper products, coffee, or detergent etc with plenty of towels and a resort housekeeping number to call if needed anything. Very short walk down the street to the beach - wonderful with waves!! And everyone loved being able to bike on the beach!! Because this house had resort privileges we could use the Night Heron pool - heated (only a half mile away). There was an attached water park. It was a short bike ride on a bike path through the woods. And at the pool is The Nest Cafe and Market and Night Heron Grill. Food was great! (We reserved bikes through Seaside Cycles who dropped the bikes off the day we arrived and picked them up the day we left). We will have to revisit as we only saw only a small part of Kiawah Island and its only 10 miles long!! All 6 of us had THE most incredible experience during our stay!! Thank you Greg!! From our very first contact, I so appreciated that you were SO warm, open, inviting and readily available for any questions or help!
A group of four of us meet once a year to reassure ourselves that our decisions to not become professional golfers were in fact sound ones. This year we stayed at a house on Kiawah island with easy access to several beautiful courses including the famous Ocean course. The house was a great match for our purposes. Each golfer had a separate bedroom and we had access to a well-equipped kitchen. When some minor issues arose, the owner was easily reachable and provided a quick response.
great location, steps to the beach! great for large groups. The house did need alot of attention at the cleanliness. There were multiple areas of the house that need attention like the faucet in the kitchen is leaking. There were items left in the bedrooms from a previous stay (used napkins, socks, etc.). There was not enough towels provided for the amount of people sleeping in the house.
Exactly what I was going for
The layout of the house worked well for our family of 8. We were optimistic when we saw the kitchen appliances but were disappointed when we had to prepare meals. The pots and pans were in bad shape, flatware and utensils were limited (only 6 teaspoons?!), and yes, there is a lobster pot, but I'd find a pasta pot much more helpful. We had to be careful when washing dishes and prepping food because the caulk around the kitchen sink was covered with black mildew. In the large living room are one loveseat, one slightly larger loveseat (I'm 5'5 and could not lay down fully), and 2 straight-back wingback chairs. We had some bad weather and discovered how uncomfortable the furniture was. Some had to sit on the floor because there wasn't enough seating for everyone. The owner was quick to respond when I told him that the grill igniter didn't work. We loved the extra beverage refrigerator, screened porch, access to Night Heron Park, and close proximity to the beach. Overall, it is a great house but needs some TLC.
Loved the location! We had more than enough room, the house is great. Fast responses from the owner. No problems at all. Thank you for letting us stay.
We had a great time staying at Greg's property. I will say the 2nd time around the house wasn't as clean as it was the first time. But either way we had a great time and Greg is great about responding to any needs we had.
House was a good choice overall for our grandkids because it was short walk or bike ride to the beach and included Kiawah Resort pool/shuttle amenities!
VRBO advertised this house as a 4 BR and 4.5 bath. It was only 3.5 bath. That mattered! The house was not clean: Hair on the bathroom floors. Kitchen floor appeared to not be mopped and cleaned. The house is very dated: Air vents were rusty and dirty. Furniture was old and very used. Kitchen was ill-equipped. Other: The sheets did not fit the beds nor even cover the mattress at all. Not enough towels. Refrigerator leaked when it was refilling the ice maker. Good: TVs were good. Grill was good (once I had them replace the gas tank). The extra drink cooler was nice. Plenty of space to eat. Great proximity to the beach. Summary: If this house had some TLC it could be really good. But it needs work. I first started going to Kiawah IS in 1978 and watched it grow and develop over the years. Great place! Our favorite island. This house was simply not up to Kiawah’s standards.
Property was nice but not as close to beach and Night Heron park as we thought. Listing had said 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms and it is actually only 3.5 bath. Didn’t notice this later in the listing until after we arrived.
The location of this house can’t be beat! A quick walk to the beach or an easy bike ride to the pools makes it perfect for families. The house has an updated kitchen complete with plenty of seating to eat your meals at. The bedrooms and bathrooms were updated and comfortable. The living room could use a touch more seating however. Loved all the games stocked in the house. Check in and resort privileges were great. A few minor housekeeping things but overall a great stay!
Very nice property. My teens and twenty somethings loved biking all over the island.
